Well, I put 1 point towards a Group Doc and one point towards a Group Fixer. I figure without those two we won't be able to purchase the cyberware and shotguns that we will eventually want.
Also I put one point towards one other Gang Contact. Good buys include:
A Sim-sense Pornographer. Allowing us to potentially hustle some of our members and associates for fast cred, as well as getting us a line on new black-market simsense. A must-have if we want to go into BTL marketting.
A Jo-Pok or Vory Smuggler. There's all kinds of crazy crap coming out of East Asia, and the Yakuza and Triads are already well established here. The Seoulpa Rings are also big news here in Seattle, but they aren't particularly connected to the Jo-Pok of mainland Korea. All kinds of tasty black-market goodies want a place to be sold in Seattle Markets that just aren't getting a fair shake from the established criminal syndicates in this city, and we could change that.
A corporate programmer. We don't have terribly good programs right now, and don't really have a line on getting better ones. A sympathetic ear in NEONet or Renraku could really turn us into a Matrix force.
A corrupt Lonestar Captain. He gives us creds and addresses, we start shit, the Star comes in and arrests resident adults, and he gets to pad his record. Everybody wins. Also, we have a guy on the force who has a very compelling reason to want us to be out of jail (or dead, but them's the breaks).
An alchemist. Drugs have to come from somewhere, and the syndicates have a lock on all the drugs that come from Columbia. But there's lots of other drugs that come from the kitchens of entrepeneurs, and those need a way to get to market as well.
Tanamous. Sooner or later, we're going to want to get our hands on some bioware, and of course we're probably going to be making some corpses out of some people who have gear. Ghouls will pay like 10¥ a kilogram from human meat - that's good money.
---
Of course, we'll need a mechanic, but that seems to be taken care of.

I guess I'll check the wiki and see what I find interesting. For some absurd reason, I think a gambler would be funny...but a ganger gambler? wierd, lol...

Not so weird if you are into Craps, dog fights, or Mah Jong. A lot of gangs have made money off of gambling - either off of "sporting events" such as races or fights, off of games such as Mah Jong or Craps - or off of straight lotteries like the Harlem Numbers Racket.
The idea is that people in the Barrens have a difficulty going all the way to Vegas because that's several countries away. And in any case they don't have SINs so they couldn't really operate in that much light. But they make bad life choices too, and often the house percentage at a back-alley cock fight is pretty mild.
Gang-run gambling is a pretty decent way to make money and get shot.

That inspires me to try and make 3 different models then, lol, a gambler, a ganger-mage (hey, I like magic, even if it's bloody expensive now) and maybe a mundane.
THen I just have to pick which one I plan to try, if things get along. ^-^;

Exactly. Combat monsters = bad. Because of the power level, it's not overly hard for the GM to work up something that will splatter half the gang across the asphalt and wipe it up with said combat monster.
Feel free to discuss characters here if you want. I think they'll need to go to the wiki eventually. I'll only be reviewing characters there.

Thyn is a troll Mechanic. He group up basically living in an “autoshop“. His mother died during the Second Matrix Crash. His father and his father’s strange friends left the shop three years ago and are more than likely dead. The automechanic Stew, a human, has been Thyn’s only “family” for the past couple of years.
Stews customers didn’t like the idea of the a child troll automechanic. So Thyn packed up his Van with everything he owned, included tools for cars and weapons, and moved out to the street. Thyn needed something better than just an apartment, because of his Van and Tools, so he found a house in a not so nice neighborhood.
Thyn started running with gangs, because the neighborhood sucked, and he also needed someway to earn enough money to start his own shop. Thyn is good with taking care of Cars, bikes, and especially weapons.

Is there a deadline for submitting concepts/characters? My concept is still being developed, but I thought it'd be interesting to play a corp kid (albeit a corp kid with some useful skills) who didn't rebel, run away from home, get kicked out, etc.
Instead event X (which is being worked on) caused his family to lose their status and position, maybe even leaving him orphaned and out on the streets. Trying to adapt what he knows to make it useful in this entirely alien world.
Anyway, any deadlines TG?

JJ is basically a low life street urchin thief that can fight back a little. He has a good base of attributes to spread out in different directions as he grows up. JJ is the sort of kid that has tons of potential but applies it in all the wrong ways at all the wrong times.
He doesn't currently have a bike, but he plans on stealing one very, very soon.

I strongly suggest keeping a backup of your character - with tags on your own computer in the word processing format of your choice. The "Edit Post" button will only call up part of your character, so it's best to just delete the field and copy/paste the current version from your home document.
Otherwise you have to retype about 3/4 of your work every time you want to change a period or fix a run-on sentence.

Yep, but I am talking about starting nuyen, not resources bought during character creation.
Staring nuyen is by lifestyle:
Street 1D6 x 10¥
Squatter 2D6 x 20¥
Low 3D6 x 50¥
Middle 4D6 x 100¥
High 4D6 x 500¥
Luxury 4D6 x 1,000¥
I was thinking that maybe these should be decreased as well. Eh, I guess there could be a moderately nuyened ganger though.
I just don't see my character having much money...especially since the rent has already been paid.

I've posted Neo's stats to the wiki.
History
[ Spoiler ]
Neo was born to a family of SINless trolls, going to a school run by a charity for part of the day, and spending the rest working as an errand boy for a gang. One day, he was unlucky enough to be making a delivery to what turned out to be a safehouse full of shadowrunners when a bunch of Red Samurai attacked. A fair bit of fighting broke out, and the shadowrunners managed to polish off the Red Sams, but not before Neo managed to take a wounded Red Sam out with his bare hands. Granted, said Red Sam was wounded, and he attacked from behind, but it was still impressive enough that one of their mages assensed him, and decided to offer him an apprenticeship, training him in the various tools of the shadowrunner trade, in exchange for Neo doing work for him. As time went on, the assassin encouraged him to join one of the smaller gangs, figuring that the best teacher is experience, and the streets shouldn't get him killed, and if they did, he wouldn't have been a very good shadowrunner anyway.

Well, Knives owns a "Yamaha Rapier", which, statisticly, is the same bike.

Prices for street drugs are on my to-do list along with a few more house rules.
On Technomancers, the maximum resonance you can buy is 3. If you use cyberware, this will lower the 3. You can't buy 4 and then lower it. The same goes for mages/adepts. No 3 magic + cyberware.
Also, the bp cost of resonance is just 10 per point. It doesn't double like magic because it's, generally, less powerful than magic points. The only restriction is the 3.
On the plus side, I'm adding a house rule for threading that technomancers will find useful.
EDIT: Oh, and now when you're doing anything through VR, use the Astral Attributes table to determine your "physical" attributes for linked skills. That should more than make up for not having a control rig

Its a little point, but I thought I'd remind you that ambidexterity doesn't help you fight with two knives any better than fighting with one.

AFAIK, ambidexterity in melee combat is worthless (although, kind of a cool fluff thing to be able to switch hands, or hold somethign different in either). Knives has it too, because I think its cool, and because he throws knives too, so it helps there.
In any case, I thought I'd point that out since you seemed worried that you went over on points and that Halo doesn't seem to have any firearms skills. Without Ambidexterity, you can still fight with a knife in each hand, but if you're ever FORCED to use your off-hand for something, you loose, like, 2 dice... otherwise, you can split your dice pool with your primary knife just as easily as splitting it across two weapons.

I do think the play on words with Sumners is a good one too.
As for colors, its somethign we have to wears, so pink and light blue are right out.
If we're the slicers (even though the name comes from the hughway that slices through the two parts of town, right?) I think a deep blood red would be a good color. Possibly with some symbolism to blood - like the ammount of red you wear represent how many fights you've been in (gunfights or fistfights, or whatever)... or how many lives you've taken or something.
I like grey, but it seems a ltitle too bland. Course, if our gang isn't tryign to make any waves, and lives on the border of two worlds, so to speak, I think its one of hte best colors we coudl pick.

Two other questions for TinkerGnome.
Can motorcycles be rigged or droned? I assume they can be droned (internal gyros or something to stay up), but having a rigger "go slack" on a motorcycle has always seemed like a bad idea to me, unless he straps himself to it...
Secondly, you mentioned GMs descresion about group lifestyle. I set aside 2000 nuyen for a low lifestyle, but I'd much rather live a low or squatter lifestyle with several other gang members and split the costs... (+10% per extra occupant)... if we're sticking together for survival, that makes more sense than if we all have our own apartments around the neighborhood to go back to.

That's unfortunate. If cyberware drops his Resonance below 3, his CFs will be smaller than his available Hacking Programs (Rating 2 CFs aren't really worth anything), so I'd have to drop the cyberware entirely.
But that would mean that there'd be no excuse for him to not know that he was a technomancer, because he could interact with the wireless world without a datajack. That would sort of hamstring the character concept.
That's quite a bind. Under these house rules, the character is worthless with a datajack, and the character can't even exist without one. So I may have to just scrap him and do something else. Oh well.

I´m definitly for a group lifestyle, too. Though we could allso put that up later on, since the gang exists only one month or so, it wouldn´t be to fare fetchet to not have a group-lifestyle yet!
I allso like BlackHat´s ideas about the colors, maybe we can combine them somehow.
What about gray and green
with gray for the stated reasons and green as a symbol for blood (and indicating combat experiance), only red is so common among gangs (maybe the clishéd black-red combo is used by our rivaly).
I´d allso like to combine the sumner and slicer idea somehow (only slice sumners sounds silly).

Maybe he baged his father for the implants, but he was just too young (in his parents opinion anyway), so they provided him with a sham-operation and a cosmetic fake-dj. Of cause, they would not let him use it and rig a racing vehicle without a helmet (secretly including standart trodes), wirreless use would allso be to dangerous with all those misceveous hackers on every corner, so they blocked it. Another allusion to the border turf, as well as to smuggling and well, killing people. On the other hand this would refer to summoning (you know, slicing the vail betweem worlds and dragging some spirit through the rift).
