HeySparky
Doh, right, we should head out.
Fenris
Sorry Bishop, but I wanted to check. Buddha posted moving out to the meet site, and then you mentioned the snipers. Are those three guys actually arrayed around the helicopter?
BishopMcQ
They are watching the clearing where you are supposed to be meeting the general.
Redjack
Red will be sending in a fly-spy with the team while he stays in the copter. He's going to begin scanning for wireless signals and com traffic...
Fenris
Okay, so we've hit a bit of a snag. there's no way we were going to give the general a drop off address, and without addressing the price before hand, there's no way he could have exactly what we want.

My assumption was, based on the manner of the equipment we were looking for, that we would have had to transmit the required payment ahead of time.

Likewise.

HeySparky
I believe this counts as paralyzed with fear.
Fenris
More waiting on Bishop to respond back about the payment thing.
BishopMcQ
Sorry, I've been trying to figure out if it would have been feasible for you to have transmitted the request and 3d imaging of each person who is getting the armor. Because each set is custom built for the exact contours of your body, advanced 3d imaging would be necessary to build it without you present. Even then, the actual crafting of the armor would take more time than you had between the initial setup and meet.
Fenris
Ah. I'd assumed less custom crafting, and more like putting together custom pieces. Kind of like getting measured for a really nice suit. They don't weave the material or make the pieces based on your measurements, they just cut and trim and hem.
BishopMcQ
Team--For clarification, the mortars detonated in the air. ("Pops like fireworks")
Redjack
eek.gif Edited my post. wink.gif
BishopMcQ
NP. The reactions were fine, but Sparky had mentioned that she thought you guys were on a timer to annihilation (my words not hers), so I thought I'd be clear.
Redjack
Do I still have a team?
BishopMcQ
I'm still here, a few writing projects and some proof-reading work fell in my lap. At this point, the ball is in the hands of the players. The General's question stands and you need to decide whether you are willing to set up an alternative drop point and final data exchange or not. It is likely that if you want to have the armor delivered elsewhere, you will need to give some kind of proof to the General that you actually have the data.
Fenris
No problem. I'll just assume the chips I have are something we tossed together that would be enough to show that we probably have the information we got from Ulik.
Redjack
[6,4,2,1,1,1,2,3,4,2,2,4] = 1 hit

Logic(4) + Software(2) to modify the form:
[1,6,6,2,1,3] = 2 hits
Redjack
You guys still here?
Redjack
I'm thinking the sound of silence = 'no'.
BishopMcQ
I'm guessing at this point that the thread has passed on, though this one has died more times than Lazarus and gets brought back when Fenris, Buddha and Sparky are out of their various crunches. Fenris just graduated and is starting his Masters degree, and he and Buddha have both dropped off the boards entirely with baby/adoption stuff.
HeySparky
I'm around. My subscriptions got jacked or something. Not that that's any excuse for an absence in excess of a whole month.
BishopMcQ
Let me give the other two a poke and see where they are at.

RedJack/Sparky--Are you two up for it, if we call "Game On"?
Redjack
Game on
BishopMcQ
I spoke to Buddha and Fenris--they are both game and we should get this thing moving.
Buddha72
I am indeed here and present. I have a few bookkeeping questions like can we get a recap to help us get back in the stream of things? Also we were getting karma a point a week, how do we want to handle the dead time for that?

Glad to be back. wobble.gif
BishopMcQ
Recap:
Having tracked down and interrogated Ulick, the team had intel on several operations throughout the Pacific Northwest. With the betrayal by their faithful yet eccentric troll, the team recruited a new decker with his own batch of secrets.

The first operation the team looked into was a blackmail scheme of a Tsimshian general. In exchange for certain hardware and not completing the tasks that Ulick wanted, the team was going to provide intel behind certain black ops that the Tsimshian special forces had performed.

That task complete, the team has scattered to begin processing the intelligence that Red gathered. Small threads of probability have been pulled together to create a larger possible image. They are due to reconnect with each other and show what they have been able to glean.

RE: Karma--I have been fairly relaxed about it. I believe the character builds were "Make the character you want to play" so take whatever amount of karma you feel is fair, and we will move forward with the 1/week starting today.
BishopMcQ
I'd like for everyone to do a post about how they spent the last three days (the amount of time we are moving forward) in character. Sparky got hers up for Edana, need one for the elves and for Red.

I will get the information about the next leg of the journey up soon. You are moving onto Large Scale Private extortion.
Redjack
Cub Scout camp this week. May be Saturday before I get my post in.
Buddha72
Ok throwing up an IC post while I'm bored at work. smile.gif

I also had a question directed towards the other players, when we switched to 4th Ed SR we were told make the character you wanted to play without any real karma limits so I was curious where the other people drew the line. How much karma did you use/spend to make your current character. I started the conversion of the PC to 4th Ed but never really finished with it, I had enough to post the important rolls and I had my stats. Now with the revival of the thread I want to finish the character and wanted to get an idea of where other players/characters were at. Thanks!

PS You can blame the flavor of the post on the Dune mini-series I just watched for the 2nd time. grinbig.gif
Buddha72
Hey what was the data we traded away?? Curious elves want to know....
Redjack
Ok. Crazy week led into crazy weekend. May take until sometime tomorrow to get the post up.
Fenris
Same here with Buddha (unsurprisingly). Curious where other people drew the line? I'm not good with nebulous boundaries, I tend to make everything delta and rating 7 and move on biggrin.gif
Fenris
Okay, so to get things rolling again, let's get a quick call out on goals for characters, both long term and short term. I'll start:

Kraxus - short term: Deal with the troll that ran his truck into Edana's shop.
long term - take out the Templars in Seattle, and move on up the line.
Redjack
Red
Short Term Goals: Check up on the his matrix jump points, register some sprites, validate receipt of the armed drones from the General, get form-fit body armor, follow-up with the team.
Long Term Goals: Become the All-Being (Master of Time, Space & Dimension). After that, take a trip to Europe.
Fenris
Okay, so as we get things rolling again:

How much time has passed, McQ?

Have we gotten our gear from the General yet, or do we need to handle the actual drop and pickup?

BishopMcQ
It's been three days since dropping off the info with the general. The gear has not yet arrived.
Buddha72
OY! You two (Red and Sparky) going to answer my question? Look up a few posts. wink.gif
HeySparky
Uh... I don't remember. If I recall correctly I think I gave myself a karma budget. Something like 250? Maybe more.

When I originally made Edana it was standard chargen +100 karma. I sunk all that karma into Herne. And when the new 4th Ed chargen rolled around I - at McQ's direction - created Herne with the same karma budget. He is distinctly more powerful now than he was orginally.

I can't say that any lines were drawn regarding the whip. I have Edana a 2 year window (I think it was two years) in an appropriate place in her background to create the thing and worked out how powerful I could make it if time were my only barrier. I justified that to myself with a giant doc full of charts and some flavor text detailing the weeks months and, yes, years it took to create the whip. Some Survival checks, lots of Talismongering and Enchanting techs, Arcana for the formula. Finding fancy ingredients (unnecessary, but cool for travel and fluff) rolls (successes and failures) that it took to create the thing.

Edana and Herne are a labor of love. And as characters go, practically write themselves. That'd be handly if they really did. biggrin.gif

----

So, Redjack, you'll know this... I've dropped out of my SR games here and elsewhere - keeping this as the solitary game in which I'm staying. No offense, Redjack. I really enjoyed Puyallups and Greer, but I would rather make a proper bowing out than linger in perpitude as a slacker.

Anyway, looking forward to this heating up again. smile.gif
Redjack
@Buddha: I'm a little unclear on the data we provided. That was quite a while back.
Redjack
@Bishop: Are Red's matrix relay points (Pizza Team Headquarters and Bob's Quick Stop) still valid and un-compromised? Also, checking for any new messages from the Exchange.
BishopMcQ
Redjack--You have not been alerted that the relays are compromised. In general, the number of extra hits on your edit test is used as the threshold to detect the change. The interval is based on how secure the system is--high security nodes may scan for unauthorized file tampering on an hourly basis or less if they have agents/IC specifically tasked to do that, non-secure nodes may be whenever the user remembers to check (a period of days or weeks).
Redjack
So Bob's will never detect the changes in place since I upgraded the software, hehehehhehe... Pizza Team is a considerably more finite time-table. Gonna have to keep changing my log on info there.

Data Search [Olives]: [5,3,2,3,4,2,6,2,5,1,2,1] = 3 hits (3)
Data Search [Olives]: [5,4,3,5,1,5,3,2,5,1,2,4] = 4 hits (7)
Data Search [Olives]: [1,1,6,6,2,4,5,4,6,3,6,6] = 6 hits (13)

Data Search [Target site]: [1,6,1,3,1,6,5,3,1,2,2,3] = 3 hits (3)
Data Search [Target site]: [3,4,5,4,5,6,3,3,5,2,2,2] = 4 hits (7)
Data Search [Target site]: [6,1,1,4,1,6,5,5,6,4,1,4] = 5 hits (12)
BishopMcQ
Redjack--The olives are easliy enough found through a number of distribution companies or high end food retailers, it will run about 200 nuyen.gif. The Target Site is a Pagliacci Pizza location. No recent shadow or criminal activity that shows up.
Redjack
Red's next stop is to pick up form-fit armor. He figures he's been lucky so far not to have been shot at with this crew. Though perhaps a body tank would serve better than armored underwear.
Redjack
Didn't you guys say 'Game on?'
I'm ready. Let's go.
BishopMcQ
I believe part of the delay is that Buddha and Fenris had a friend to move to San Fran and then a bunch of family stuf from Thurs-today. I will poke them both and get them in here.

For my clarification, I know you ordered FFBA from the general, are you getting a different set now? If so, from whom?
Fenris
I bumped Gell and Kraxus back to the safe house with a message to meet us. Buddha and I were waiting for you and Sparky to reply to that and/or show up.
Redjack
At to the FFBA, I forgot I ordered them from the general. As that is pending, I will simply return to the safe house and check to see if the gear has arrived.
BishopMcQ
I pushed eevryone to the safe house and puppeted Edana for a little bit. i know she is in crunch time at the office.
Redjack
Thread up analyze: [5,5,2,2,2,4,5,6,6,6] = 6 hits
OMG... With an analyze of 3, 5 hits would equal my resonance. Anything over that would be physical drain. I'll hold at 5.

Resist [3,1,2,4,6,6,1,3,4,3,1,1,6] = 3 hits; 2 boxes drain.

Anaylze: [4,1,2,2,5,4,4,2,3,5,2,2,2,6,4,1] = 3 hits (wtf?)
Edge to reroll: [6,5,1,4,2,6,3,6,5,2,1,4,1] = 5 hits

8 total hits to analyze the video.
