@Marghos: who do you wish to talk to first? or are you just fishing?
Edit: Hehehe, oooopsies Forgot Karma, 4 Karma to all for some excellent RP. |
I'll think that first Marty will write and send a note both Sir Edward Woodward (this company guy and family friend (L 2/C 3) and Basil Channing (Bobby the Streetcop: L 3/C 1) meeting and talkin should to be next morning/day, then he will go to home and rest only a little (sustenanse) time with his lovely wife, he will also check these bullets he got before and after these he will go fishing.
First. Marty will make some inquiries about these adresses we got. Buildings, floorplans, security and possible sewers (places to go when searching knowledge: Town hall/City techical department(?)/Library and contacts)
Second. Peoples who lives in these given adressess. (Places to go with these inquires: City hall, Library, News magacines, Church, contacts)
Fishing: Marty will do some low profile inquiries about our belowed employer. (contacts both sir Edward and Basil, knowledgeskills)
So what skills and rolls?
Charisma 4 + kinesics 3 + influence skillgroup 2 +/- ???

Finally after much bantering and wrangling, the new team of "mutual associates" return to their respective sleeping arrangements. |
Certainly not the most elegant resolve for our teambuilding discussion problem, but efficient nevertheless.
Looks like *gasp* we can actually leave the initial meet and move on to the second day now, after only 1 month of playtime.
Let's hope we'll survive this murderously insane speed and not break apart from the sudden shock of acceleration...
QUOTE (Meriss) |
Tell me your leg work plans and whether you want them IC or OOC. |
Sure.
Alexander will visit the Library and, with the help of his contact there, compile info on the White Star Lines and their ships, especially The African Star.
Afterwards he'll get his cabbie to drive him around the 4 target locations for a thorough scientific observation.
GM only spoiler!
[ Spoiler ]
1. Upon returning to his shop, Lex will treat his slightly scorched hand (the 1P damage from overcasting his Analyze Truth) by means of First Aid (Do I need to roll that or can I just buy the 2 hits needed?).
2. He will use his contact in the British Library to get all publicly available information [including (but not limited to) newspaper articles, scientific publications, business reports etc.] about the White Star Lines and their ships, especially The African Star.
3. Then he's going to take a steam-cab tour (just a drive-by needed for that, should be inconspicuous enough) around the 4 targets to literally scan the area (Spatial Sense for an accurate layout plan of the buildings and their surroundings, including underground things like cellars and pipes) and, upon return home, will put his exact mental picture (Eidetic Sense Memory) into skillfully drawn plans (Blueprint Design Skill) to show to the rest of his meta-team later.
4. If he finds the time (i.e. he managed to finish the other stuff in 1 day - and his days are long, thanks to Sustenance) he will properly 'prepare' some of his devices for the upcoming task (read: summoning&binding spirits).
Regarding IC/OOC: I'm ok with doing it OOC and writing a short IC synopsis on it afterwards, but if you'd like to RP Travis and Horace (the librarian), then go ahead and we do it IC.
Is it okay to spend Karma, even if we only got 2 days of half-busy downtime? Got to get his brutally shaved physical attributes of 1 to more normal levels asap. He was never intended to be so extremely clumsy and slow (rating 1), just average (rating 2-3), but something had to give way to manage the 350BP cap without crippling his main abilities (constructing and summoning).

Hooray for mad RP.
"Horace Argyle", Human (male), age: 24, well *cursing silently as it becomes uncomfortably obvious that I didn't manage to actually write up the background for my contacts yet, despite being 1 month into the game* he's an extreme book-nerd.
Usually found digging through the deepest library catacombs, sorting and cataloguing stuff (reading lots of it too), crossindexing it with other libraries.
Lex, a regular library visitor himself, always checking scientific publications, especially the engineering stuff of course, stumbled upon him by chance some time ago and they connected pretty quick over lots of technical small-, middle- and largetalk.
As long as it's public information, there's a good chance that Horace either knows it, knows where to find it or knows where to look for it. Should not be of much help with 'underground' information though, except the 'hidden knowledge of the dark cabal of librarians (eg. L-Space)' of course. *ook*
Hope that helps with getting an idea of Horace.
IC reasoning? Damn. My sound metagaming reasoning was obviously not enough. Guess that'll have to wait a bit then, I feel safer with some spirits bound, you never know how 'enthusiastic' my meta-team will be to spring into action right after our next meet.

True, that (although they might remember the dwarf with the messy, grey-patched hair).
But GD still needs some sort of ID to be presented, and he only got his 'Dorn' one. But if he gave away his full name to his (not yet trusted

Regarding my librarian contact: I initially wanted him to be from the
Brititish Library (BL), but as that didn't exist until a century later (at least in our timeline), I went with
The British Museum instead, as this held the major part of the collection that would become the BL. So don't be confused about the 'museum' part.

On her maiden voyage she will be carrying over one thousand passengers. The voyage will be an eight week steam from the port of Bristol to the Southern tip of dark Africa and the colony of Cape Town. You have essentially all the info you could ever want on the White star lines. Roll Logic + intuition the seperate the wheat from the chaff. The Times article is minimal and spoilered below. I'm retconing the ships name to be in line with the naming conventions of the White Star Lines. |
Sounds good.
[ Spoiler ]
Correction: Sounds bad. Sounds absolutely horribly bad.
Really crappy roll: [1,1,3,1,2,2,1]=
Critical fraggin' glitch!!! On 7 bloody dice!!!
*wimpers*InvisibleCastle hates me...
Have fun IC (I'm sure you will)...
Although I wonder how you want to pull that off with all the hard-to-misinterpret info in Alexanders face...well, surprise me.
And Lex.
And his team.
(his reputation will be quite ruined after that...*sigh*)
I guess this 'wheat from the chaff'-seperating is not going to involve Horace any more, so Lex can move on to his other business when he finished reading, correct?

Is Bismarck based on anyone btw (his gas mask and cyberedness kinda reminds me of the undead leather-nazi from the hellboy movie...)? |
Except that guy was more a move-by-wire-4 cyber-zombie ninja than the walking battleship that is Bismarck. Ofcourse now that you've brought it up, "gas mask and cyberedness", I can't help thinking of Darth Vader, no offence.

Logic 4 + Engineering 3 test
6, 6, 5, 4, 1, 3, 6. 5 Hits.
Figures my 6s waste themselves checking out a warehouse, as opposed to you know, not dying or something.
As for Bismarck being based on something, I'm not going to argue his aesthetic is original by any means. Yeah, theres
Darth Vader, but mostly I modeled him after the German soldiers in WW1. I probably would have given him a flamethrower too, had there been rules for them in SR4.
And Kroenen is much faster than how I envision Bismarck working, which is to chug forward, absorb gunshots and blows, and then tear his opponents limb from limb.

@Gaslampers: Guys you'll have to forgive me I've been preetty busy and stuff. Sorry.
Okay. *sigh* Back to the coal mines then?
@Zen: If you feel you're done and ready to move on. Go ahead, where are you bound next? You can try again if you wish, Horace might be able to find the real stuff this time.
@Voorhees: IC posting. And I utterly forgot. Roll a Perception for me please.
@marghos: Does Sir Woodward have any quircks or kinks to play with?
