@ Meriss - rumors mostly, anything on what the Imps are up ot if this guard captain isn't one. As Daylin explained earlier, the previously independent planets were taken over by the Empire, and none to happy aobut it. THis owuld have been the near past rahter than decades ago like most of the Empire. So if he isn't an Imp, he might be more prone to talking.

We're getting @#$@all out in the bazaar. I think it's time to trade info with the second string, change out some players. Jeryk and Daylin are going back to the ship to do some jedi stuff, unless SinN has some objections.
Alex, I'm thinking of doing Farseeing, but I want to do a kind of ritual with it, linking with Jeryk and Rand, since they're Force sensitive. I'm not talking about adding dice or anything. I know there's no ruels for it, bt what I'm thinking is more like using their Sense attribute to "sustain" (for lack of a better word) or "Keep up" a projective telepathy that I initiate, then have Daylin do Farseeing, as a wa of them kind of "hitching along" and experiencing the Farseeing. Just something random I was thinking about. A way of showing htem a real expression of the Force and some of it's potential. Thoughts?

May 13 2008, 02:51 AM
Ok, here are some thoughts on rules.
Fist
You will make the standard roles for Sense and Control on both powers.
Your Farseeing roll(s) will be modified by +5 for trying to see the recent past.
SinN and Ophis
You will need to make a Sense roll with a difficulty of 3 in order to "sustain" the link.
Multiple tries are allowed.
I like this idea.

No dice shall be thrown at you.
Fist said that your character was "Force Sensitive" which means that he can allocate 1D to any of the three Force powers. I recommend Sense. If you didn't do that, let's chat. There is no default for the Force powers.

He has Control IIRC. Can he maybe use that to "hold up" a link that I bring up rather than tap in w/ Sense?
Or could he perhaps get 10 Character Points, since we've been playing this game for quite a while Real Time?

Your call Alex on whether or not I should post including Rand, or just go with SinN/Jeryk.

May 16 2008, 05:51 PM
@ Fist
Let's have you run Rand for the short term. If Ophis decides that he is completely out then we will revisit the issue. Otherwise, you are go for the Force vision attempt.
@ Meriss
You are doing well with the constable. Go ahead and make a Persuation/Con roll as you see fit to extract more information from him. Please keep in mind that a failed Con roll could turn him against you. Failed Persuation just means that he can't/won't give up more information.
We are about to go through a network upgrade at work so I won't be able to post again until I get home.

something.

@Aex- what do we have in the way of communicatoin codes and the like for beaming messages back to base?
ludomastro
May 18 2008, 05:10 AM
Mostly, I see comm codes as NERPS. Just tell me you encoded it and away it goes. If the Empire is going to try to break it, there really aren't any rules - that I see - for the type of encryption.

Jedi of the old order were forbidden to marry or have other "attachments." If you didn't know that, you can change the post if you like. However, you don't have to change the post. Perhaps that is what Jeryk's master told him. The old Jedi may have been shading the truth a bit for some reason. After all, even Ben used "a certain point of view" when explaining what happened to Luke's father. It's your choice and I'll roll with it.

I deleted his extrenous posts. Isn't it handy having a nearby admin-type person.

Not sure how to describe going about it IC just yet. Daylin is first planning on running Jeryk's DNA so that he can get a sample to compare to Pelagia lines. Needs to go all covert like for a while, find some of the seedier parts of town, and perhaps leave planet while the others are getting themselves into trouble. Obviously the star port is fully Imperial controlled, so what he needs to do is get to one of the planets where things are a little bit dirtier and a little bit messier, such as one of the mining worlds, where his "old hand" apearance would fit right in.
From there, pay a low rent slicer to run the scan of the blood against Pelagian blood lines, and then convince him that "These were not blood samples you were looking at. They were very boring strains of plant life. You should forget all about it." ala Jedi hand waiving. Then once he's got some sort of confirmation, start diong some digging through the underworld about House Pelagia, and who does what. IF they're a down as they seem, they've got to be doing some sort of weapons smuggling or something. Mecetti no long has the strength of the Empire behind it, which means that Pelagia will have a chance to return to it's former station. But only if Mecetti doesn't see them coming.
So... Pelagia will have to build up it's power in secret. meaning weapons smuggling. If someone is Pelagia is doing smuggling, then the'yre the ones that are willing to take some more risks. So they would be the best ones for him to come to with a long lost scion and Jedi trainee. For people in their position, looking for allies, the New Republic/ Rebel ALliance may be just what they need,
especially with some legendary Jedi, who are afforded the same respect as nobles in the sector (And Daylin happens to be one) And a great show of faith could certainly be helping them with an investigation of the dock yards...
So that's what I'm thinking Daylin will be working on while I'm away.

Honestly I keep forgetting what year it is since we dropped out of Thrawn, which was why I put it as "New Rpublic/Rebel Alliance". Just thought I'd cover all my bases. What year is it in relation to the Battle of Yavin (since that's the most frequent measuring stick I see used).
I'm not quite out yet, so I'm happy to keep posting w/ Roleplaying and such. I just wanted to set up a graceful exit (stage left) until I'm able to segue back in later. Let you know what I wanted to work on to give you something for Daylin to be doing.

Alex - Raised Daylin's Control by one and took a power (Return Another to Conciousness).
Basing Daylin's apprehension on this:
QUOTE (Tales of the Jedi pg 135)
An individual who decides to take on Force students must tread carefully. The responsibilities associated with such a positionmay not become apparent until it is too late. An instructor must constantly watch for pupils with a propensity for seeking the easy path to power, who do not possess the will to resist the temptations of the dark side. Empowering such a weak souls can have dangerous consequences - for both the instructor and the galaxy as a whole.
All Force teachers develop a permanent relationshipwith their students- The Jedi Way demands it. If a Jedi turns to the dark side, her instructor must expend every effort to return her to the light, or to destroy her if efforts to sever the dark side's grip fail. The taint of darkness does not easily wash away, and cannot be hidden from Jedi Masters. Any Knight who commits an act of evil knows to expect a visit from his former (or current) mentor in the near future.
[ Spoiler ]
I don't have the requisite 3D in any Force skills yet, so techinically I can't teach either of them any powers. Daylin did have 3-4D in the Force skills before, so that's your call if the knowledge alone, and not the ability, is sufficent. What I'm thinking is that he needs tto develop those Force skills before anything else to train up those two, so he's focsing on developing them as quickly as he can (hence raising Control when I'd rather raise social skills.

Alex - got it. So we're smack in
Shadow of the Empire zone, in the meat of the rebellion. Groovy.
Character POints expenditure listed. If we do everything BtB we'd never get everything done on a forum.

THat's why I don't worry too much about the "when"s in my games either. Much easier to up grade and roll on.
@ Meriss - glad to see Daylin isn't the only one with mental health issues.
@Alex - For the moment, Daylin is still on the ship. He's getting his gear together, prepping to travel light, take what he can of a medkit with him, and DL some star maps of Tapani to a datapad so he can find his eay around a bit on his own. Rand and Jeryk just went back out, and someone needs to stick around to fill Jannel in on what's going on.
