I'm gunna throw out a few tests, you can let me know how much or how little I get off it.

First, Centering/Cognition to reduce TNs to perception check: 05 05 04 04 03 02

Then perception to check out the room and get a feel for our host: 11 08 08 05 04 03 02 01
Sandoval Smith
John is making three assening tests, one on the bodyguard, one on the room, one on the Johnson. (-1 TN for Perceptive)

1: 3,3,3,3,2
2: 4,4,4,4,2
3: 9,8,7,5,1
Aes
She is, of course, referring to the annual Brotherhood of the hand deed, where you have to break in somewhere, steal the most heavily guarded item and leave it on the front desk. Working on the assumption that all the awakened in the group were members.
BishopMcQ
Just to bump the question since I haven't heard everyone's input yet--did you want a decker or just use your contacts?
BishopMcQ
Anyone with Art or Art History knowledge skills, roll them please.
Sphynx
Did he really say Euros? nyahnyah.gif
BishopMcQ
Yep. IIRC they are still used predominantly in Europe...Exchange rates be damned...

If we're short a decker - and the GM doesn't mind putting stats to the NPC, Ms. Johnson could always bring in her decker buddy from the Tír/Denver. It'd set us back a few days if we did, waiting for him to arrive. But at least we'll have to worry less about Mr. Johnson setting us up with someone with orders to stab us in the back. wink.gif

Mind you, he'd probably expect an equal share if he had to infiltrate along with us. And I somehow doubt the Louvres matrix security would be available off-site.
BishopMcQ
AES--Joconde is the French name for the Mona Lisa and the Master is probably a reference to DaVinci...The Louvre is currently having an exposition on DaVinci's work which has collected masterpieces from around the world. The Exposition is going until the end of the month, then the pieces are going to be returned to their proper owners.

Team--I have another Player interested in joining up as a decker since he felt that the need was there. The decision is yours.
Ecclesiastes
I'm all for bringing in the Decker PC if everyone else is.

Fine Art: 09 05 04 04 02 01

Negotiations: 11 09 05 04 03 01

Good Looking and Knows It, Good Rep 2, and Kenetics 2 for a total of -4 TN to the roll.
Aes
I'm not opposed to bringing in another pc either. Will it be someone the team knows, or someone we meet for the first time at the meeting?
BishopMcQ
RE: New Player--I'd leave it up to the team to decide if they want it to be someone they know. It would be simple enough for me to introduce him through the Johnson or to have one of you call an acquaintance.
Shadow
I say intro him through the Johnson, it will add a element of spice to the game that we wouldn't have if we already knew him.
HobbeGoblin
I hope i'm not stepping on toes here.I'm the player McQ is refering to...at least i think i am.

Ecclesiastes
in case anyone didn't get the feel of what Wraith was trying to tell the Johnson there, I'm not accepting the job for us yet. I'm just telling him that he better make us a better offer before we will even consider talking about things in more detail.
Ecclesiastes
And chatting with Shadow just now, he said that 70k was a good deal. I didn't think so, hense my post. I've never done jobs of this nature before in a game, so I thought 100k would be ok pay for breaking into the Louvre. If I'm wrong, Wraith would know better and I can edit my post.
Sphynx
Decker is ok with me.
BishopMcQ
Sorry about the delay, I tried posting yesterday but it was apparently during the database maintenance.
Shadow
they did the swwitch over yesterday so things should run better now. So start posting *cracks the whip*

Lets not get to bogged down on the whys and wherfores. This is gonna take a lot of time to plan. We all know we are gonna except the job smile.gif So lets get to the point where we can start working on succeeding!
Sphynx
That's half the fun of role-playing. nyahnyah.gif Besides, it's part of the planning, I'm interested in how long we'll have to hold such a hot piece, and want to make sure they think ahead enough to create a secure place for it that it can be placed into within an hour or so of it being aquired. Them asking me to meet them in 3 days to give them the piece after I've already aquired it will not bode well with me since I don't want to get caught, and don't want to have to steal it 'again' since I'd hide it somewhere away from me anyhows where they'd find it and return it to the collection.

It's not bogging down, it's being prepared. wink.gif

Sphynx
Aes
Indeed. Remember rule # 109: Mr. Johnson is the first piece of Legwork.
BishopMcQ
After consultation with a few players, remember that you are all friends and close professional acquaintances.

Think about what you're posting to make sure that you aren't sniping at each other. In short--Play nicely.

That's all I'm going to say on the matter, please let me know if you have any concerns, but otherwise you get to police your own.
Whizbang
Only sniping I've done was all in good fun. smile.gif

Argh...gotta kick this writer's block and get posting again.
BishopMcQ
Ecc--The contact info you are given includes an LTG number in Paris and the name of the decker in Marseille along with an LTG number for him.
BishopMcQ
As a general notice for people who don't play in my other games.

Each week that people post regularly in the thread you earn one point of karma. That can be used to improve skills and rolls over to add'l karma pool as per the normal rate. For simplicity sake, it is awarded every Monday. I maintain the right to issue additional karma above and beyond the normal reward for great roleplaying or posts that I find particularly funny or interesting.
BishopMcQ
Here's the link to the game website...my standard disclaimer of it's not pretty but it should be functional applies.

Whizbang
I can't complain...it's better than I can do.
Sphynx
I think you should add the other 2 image links I posted in that same message McQ.
BishopMcQ
Done.
Whizbang
Just in case I don't have time to post it tommorrow, work is shipping me back to Florida for another 5 days. Hopefully I'll be back sometime Friday evening.
BishopMcQ
I updated the main page with a few more maps of the area around the Louvre and a general Metro map since you were talking about such.
BishopMcQ
Tonight I'm going to bump the team to splitting ways unless you need something else...
Shadow
Sounds good to me. Ariel will take her Bike to Paris.
Aes
You know, it's a long way from Lyon to Paris on a bike and ms. Jonsons car DOES have a passenger seat nyahnyah.gif
Shadow
I figured I might need it when we get there. But I could probably put it on a train and pick it up there. So yeah, Ariel could ride with you.
Ecclesiastes
Aes: In the future, if I personally forget about something my character would know (like some power you have), just let me know OOC and I'll edit my IC post.
Aes
Eh... They'd been out of touch for a while. People forget. And we'd rather hurry on to the part where stuff blows up then fret over what people can remember they've done before the game started wink.gif
HobbeGoblin
The Decker...since i've had such a hard time sending emails lately i'm posting here.

Shadow
Welcome to the team Hobby smile.gif

@ McQ,

Ariel is going to hop a train to Paris, taking her bike with her.

BishopMcQ
Shadow--you realize that the decker is in Marseille right?
Shadow
I do now. wink.gif

Ok so not being super familiar with France has it's drawbacks. I went and checked a map and learned that Marseille is actually back the way I cam and not to far from Nice. So I am going to hop a train back there cause it is late.
Shadow
For anyone who is geography challenged (like me)

France

As it turns out (after looking at the map) Paris is only about 2 hours away from Lyons, and Marseilee is about 45 minutes away from Lyons, so scratch the whole train thing. Man, France isn't very big...
Sphynx
Experience tells me that it's about 3 hours at night and over 4 by day from Lyon to Paris. nyahnyah.gif Lyon is about 3 hours by day and about 2 hours by night. Not sure your estimation of the map is all that accurate....

I used the little thingie on the top that said Kilometers, and measured out how many klicks from town to town. And then figured I would go about 120 klicks an hour. Bear in mind I have never been to France, so estimates are all I have.

Sphynx
My family owns a place near Angouleme, and although I rarely make it over to the central-east, I've done the trip enough times to be fairly sure I'm accurate on the times... France is a pretty big place (but since I come from Belgium, it seems even bigger. nyahnyah.gif)
Shadow
Big... It takes 3 hours to drive from Seattle, Washington to Portland, Oregon. On the map it looks like you could drive across France in a day.

When I was in London they were offereing day trips to Paris via a shuttle, so I always figured the countries were just not that big.

Back on the game, so assuming Lieu has his own wheels I am gonna head south. If Lleu needs a ride, I think the Blitzen can seat two for an hour or so.
Whizbang
got to the internet cafe again. btw, the name is LLEU (not yelling at you...just people seems to think the second l is a capitolized i). It's Welsh. You know...the folks who gave the Hawaiians most of their vowels. smile.gif
Shadow
I went back and fixed as many IC posts as I could fine. Sorry Whiz.
