McQ: What did Wraith spot about outside security? You only PMed me about stuff on the inside.
BishopMcQ
May 14 2005, 06:07 AM
Outside has motion sensors, sensors on each door to note when they open, and SOTA maglocks. You didn't see any reinforcements on the glass structures of the pyramid, but it's a safe presumption that there are systems inplace to note if the glass is forcibly shattered.
The neighborhood would be the equivalent of AA rating on the surface. Walking up, the outer walls which house administrative offices and the like have reinforced doors.

ok, so we are jumping ahead to day 4.
Sphynx--You should have completed mapping the tunnels at this point.
Hobbegoblin--Give me some specifics on what you want to search for in your data search. You have time for a detailed search, so the more precise a question you give me, the better information you will get.
Team--I know there was talk about putting in wiretaps etc. Give me a breakdown of what you want to do. If you can supply the associated skill rolls with each request, I will create a larger more detailed post that includes everything you have been able to accomplish.

HobbeGoblin: What kind of wire taps did you want us to lay down?
McQ: Wraith is going to contact the girl he used to date that works at the Hall of Records and see if she can find anything on the Louve for him.
I'll toss out some tests in case you need them.

I would like to visint the Louvre a couple of times. Get the feel of the lay out and security, walk the grounds and take pictures of it. I would also like to take pictures of all the security guards that I can (using eye cam) and get them to Noir for use.

After a week of no one else pointing out what they'd like or posting IC, I bumped the thread along.
Everyone is on the boat which Loki rented for the night (500

) and planning is about to begin. Please converse amongst yourselves.
Hobbegoblin--The info you were able to gather is a laundry list of the who's who in security and magic. It seems like the museum has had several security contracts over the last century. The most recent is a nationalized company, Securite Nationale Francaise, they hold the security contracts for 80% of the national monuments and museums in France.
The exhibit made the news a few months ago when it was decided that citizens and visitors whom "crossed the threshold of flesh and spirit" would be unable to visit the exhibit due to certain security protocols. For this reason, Fiber Optic imaging systems were installed which allowed these individuals to still be able to see the art with their own eyes.

Jun 2 2005, 01:57 PM
Next I'll be running a info search on other areas they protect....looking for two or three that are close by to scope out their plan there. The premise is that they'll do the same type security there as in the target area. I hope.

The Job:
Ladies, gentlemen. I am a simple man with simple tastes, so I will get down to business quickly. A few items need to be collected from a museum to the north of here, specifically a ruby and a journal. The museum is the former Palais de Louvre in Paris. Are you willing to accept such a task?
I would prefer delivery by the end of the month if possible. That would leave you twenty-five days starting tomorrow. Will that be sufficient?
The Pay:
"One hundred thousand it is. I do not have the cash on hand but if you give me an account number I can arrange for an electronic transfer."
Inside:
Security systems abound, throughout the entire Louvre. Gates designed to drop down from the cieling or press out from the walls to slow passage through the museum at night and create chokepoints rest behind tapestries. Other systems, you've only heard about in rumors of shadowtalk.
. Video feeds from what he found inside start to play. While the video rolls, Wraith does a play-by-play of each room, pointing out the strengths of the system.
"The halls are nasty. Motion sensors, gas dispersion systems and pressure plates on each piece of art. Every one of em. Out target area has the same, with an extra array of sensors. There is an additional system that seems to tie fiberoptics into the camera surveillance, which likely means they have mages watching the room in astral via fiber."
Outside:
Excellently done, every alternative we can find increases chances of success. Loki tracks his position, and then heads to the surface. Not bad for 3 days of laboring, multiple escape routes have been laid out, as well as a feasably reasonable entry location. He waits til he gets to his room, and makes a secure call to Ariel to meet up for lunch.
Support:
The sun sets framing some of Paris's best known buildings in gold as the team sits down around a table in the ship's galley. Pictures of the targets are displayed on the flat-vid screen built into the wall, with silent images of uniformed guards flashing by.
Anachronistic as it feels, Wraith unrolls a few blueprints of the building that he was able to sweet talk out of his one time flame. Noire sifts through data pulling out names that range from defense contractors to some of the brightest minds in the areas of thaumaturgic protection.
Supposition:
Cross-referencing the pictures that Ariel brought out with the map and personal recollection of passing through the museum, you are able to place the exhibit on the second floor of the Denon Wing. The same room where the Mona Lisa has hung for years received a state of the art security upgrade to house the exhibit.
The escape route goes through the underground section of the Sully wing near the Medieval remnants of the Louvre.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently you are at the end of Day 3, leaving 22 days until the Johnson expects to receive his goods.

Hobbegoblin--For non-critical decking, such as securing a hotel room...let's use the simplified decking rules for MJLBB. Throw me your computers, Green Host. Each success is either an additional room, or a criteria/amenity that you can add to the room.
IE--Penthouse Suite, Overlooking the Louvre, Room Service, and Secure Matrix Connection included, for Self plus 4. (5 Successes necessary)
4 basic rooms (4 successes necessary--1/room.)
This should keep the game from hiccuping over something as easy as finding a hotel room and let you focus on the more esoteric tasks such as breaking into a world-famous museum to steal priceless relics.

Hey Mcq, I would very much like to continue this game, but it seems that we lost most (if not all) of the players.
How would you like to proceed?
I have an idea for Arial to infiltrate the museum pretty much on her own. But if you would rather call it I understand. Sometimes these things just don't work out.
