Was rechecking some things in Street Magic and ran across a shadow spirit called Wraith. Now sticking with the primary idea of a Rage like virus getting away from a corporation the addition of several wraith spirits that feed off of Rage and/or mindless mayhem would add a whole new aspect to the outbreak. Could confuse the runners as to who or what is really to blame fo rthe outbreak. Just a thought.

Here's the problem with the super zombies say from 28 days later or the Dawn of the Dead remake. They already have those there called Feral Ghouls. It terms if fighting you won't have much of a difference.
The problem with the classic horde of mindless undead easy. They may be tough except for headshots but they'd have 1 reaction and no ability to dodge there only advantage sear numbers.
So in SR a zombie scenario is best done at 300 BP. If you use the classical zombie.
400 BP teams of runners are likely to have a heavy combat character or two who may actually have enough ammo to handle a lot of zombies.
Though that could still be fun in a way. I'd love to have my street samurai drop to his knees and say. "I am completely out of ammo, thats never happened to me before."
Of course one simple way to do the zombie event *dream* The party goes through the whole end of days stuff maybe they all die maybe they escape to some tropical island or nation that escaped untouched. In any event they all wake up.
THEN you can do the whole was a dream? or a vision of what will be...

I think the zombie hoard scenario can be done pretty well in Shadow Run if kept to a confined area such as a research facility or arcology. The zombie armageddon, where the whole world goes under is only to be used as the potential end if the runners fail. I would prefer to treat the threat more along the lines of insect spirits with outbreaks that have to be dealt with occasionally or that occur in such remote areas the infected don't spread very far. For that reason I lean towards the "zombies" of "28 days later" fame because they will eventually starve to death in a few weeks. However inserting a shadow spirit like the wraith allows your mindless hoard to acquire a thinking aspect as the spirit acts to continue the violence and terror spawned by the rampaging menace.
PS. Where are the stats and write up for Ferrel Ghouls?
