Or if you are worried about your bottomline, have Corp R&D invent a combat drug that does the same thing and have it be mandatory SOP to pop it.
However, I'm not so sure that low grade elemental protection isn't a good deal to apply to sec guard armor, sure it isn't perfect but it is better then nothing and you can always dock the sec force's salaries in order to pay for it just like they do for the cyberware, ect...

Thats doesen't make sense in my game. Making up special drugs that somehow ALL the corp guys has but the runners have never heard of seems like a very bad way of g fixing a couple of overpowered weapons.
As for some armor mods, yes a few corps or divisions may have that as standard, at least in high security facilities. But having it has standard everywhere is a waste, and although Corps seemingly has limited resources, they won't if they don't cut back on unnecessary costs. How often do Shadowrunners pop up anyway? That's why you give a grunt combat drugs (emergency only) and not wired reflexes. Only the guys routinely dealing with combat situations will have cyberware. A security guard is there as eyes and ears, to monitor technical security, provide service and delay potential attackers. He's not there to fight really, and his guns is mostly just to scare off vandals and thieves or for self defense.
Oh and in my world Security guards are considered assets, have training, and is not wasted on suicide attacking Shadowrunners. And making them pay for whatever equipment they need is a sure way of lowering morale. Letting them use it if they want to pay for it themselves, perhaps even offering them good deals on such equipment from their parent corp however... that's good biz.

Un-nerfing stim patches is a good alternative.

Perhaps I should have clarified, what I meant was have Corp R&D invent said drug, throw the Runners into a run that just happens to be a testing ground for said drug, and when the results come back mostly positive have said drug start seeing widespread use after whatever you feel is a reasonable amount of time for the corp to gear up mass production.
Or maybe the Runners are hired to steal a sample of a new combat drug before trashing the lab and files and it hits the streets before having some of the more "drastic" side effects worked out first.
As for corp wageslaves, sec guards or not being assets, well, to each their own, I like my Sixth World old, dark, and tired where life is cheap and virtue all but worthless.

I like mine all white and pristine, new sparkling and crystal. Well, on the outside.
Corps having slogans like "we care." And seemingly doing so until you burrow deep enough into the system where you see all the abuse, exploitation, pollution or simply evil.
The PCs in this world are not good guys fighting the evil empire - they are hardened criminals out to make nuyen and survive, get wealth and respect often using normal people as stepping stones.
Then again if you burrow deep enough the same runners might find there are worse things than greed and violence in this world, and be appalled by what they find: Insect spirits, invoulentary test subjects, live organ transplants, black ops, Resident Evil-style schemes etc.
The important part is making contrasts - and if everyone knows their corp is screwing them over, that ruins just that. Sure, SOME are screwed over, but they are done so silently, sometimes without them even knowing it.
