HMHVV Hunter
"I'll keep an eye out for those."

"I think there's a background count in the area around here, though. It might make things a little more interesting."
Grey
"Thats one thing I love about you Cub... Modesty."
Grey
"How you doing out there Snow?"
Shadow
"Modesty is a false trait, I simply tell you what I can do."
Ol' Scratch
After finding a good place to land behind and revert back to normal, Snow hears the sarge's voice just as his ruthenium cloaking activates.

"Nothing out of the ordinary, though the rumor about a mana warp appears to be correct," he thinks, letting his transducer silently communicate for him. "It's concentrated on the west side of the facility. I saw no means of sneaking in close without being in plain site, however, nor did I see any other obvious entrances. Looks like we're going to be going in the front door unless we make a new one ourselves. I'm currently at [insert coordinates of his position, which should be pretty close to the facility] and awaiting further orders. Over."

[OOC: Laughing-Snow is his real name, Hawkwind is his call sign on the radio. Sorry to have confused you guys. smile.gif And sorry for the lame radio response. This obviously isn't my strong spot. biggrin.gif]
TinkerGnome
Loaded down with heavy medical gear and a sidearm, not to mention a full suit of light security grade armor with all sorts of bells and whistles, Nvwati crouches with the other. The pale green power indicator of his armor's ruthenium fuel cell glows pale on the inside of his HUD display, though he doesn't activate it until stealth is necessary. Going off on his own isn't a priority, but sticking with the team is.
Digital Heroin
Windtalker moves into position where he was assigned, taking his time on the approach. He leopard crawls the final leg of the trek, and from his prone position draws his binoculars from under the rucksack he's wearing. He starts to pan across the enemy holdings, looking for signs of communications equipment, but mindful of other key defensive structures as well. As he does this, he begins a scan of frequencies, to see if he can pick up on enemy communications.
Grey
"Alright troops, lets back down the hill a bit and make our way around to the north side of the town. We'll have to go a bit wide so we can use the hills for cover. Hawkwind, meet us just on the other side of the hill to the north. Cub, once we're ready for approach, go ahead and bring up our cover, but don't bother for now."

With that, Joseph crawls backwards down the hill until he is free to stand without any worry of being seen from the other side. Turning off the Ruthenium, he waits for the rest of the troop to join him and then begins the trek around the hills towards the north.
Tanka
Johnny slunk backwards, keeping low and trying not to be seen. He stood up after coming down the hill a ways and began breaking down his guns again. After he finished, he began to follow his NCO's lead.
Ol' Scratch
Acknowledging the order, Laughing-Snow surveys his position one last time, then proceeds to the rendevous point on foot.
TinkerGnome
Nvwati follows suit, being careful of tangeling his bulky gear in any undergrowth.
moosegod
The team glides into the position without issue.
The whole scene seems... not quite right.
HMHVV Hunter
Something doesn't feel quite right here thinks Wildheart.

Wildheart once again shifts his senses to the astral, hoping to find out whatever it is that's setting his intuition off.
HMHVV Hunter
Wildheart shuffles lightly on his stomach and lays flat on the ground behind a hill.

They'll probably be watching the trees. Better not risk it.

All the while, he keeps an eye on the astral around the site.
Ol' Scratch
Laughing-Snow is crouched down about ten meters west of the rest of the group, resting about five paces from the nearest tree but keeping it to his back. All of his senses -- especially his superhuman olfactory and hearing senses -- are on full alert as they have been from the beginning, and his hazmat seal to accommodate it.
TinkerGnome
Nvwati moves quietly into position ten or fifteen meters back from the fighting portion of the group. He does his best to find some cover in the sparse terrain while waiting in a crouch for the order to advance. His mental "finger" hovers over the impulse trigger that will make his suit's imaging scanners flare to life and hide him from view.
Grey
"Alright Cub, bring up that cloak. Lets move out boys."

Wolf reaches over his shoulder and pulls an arrow out of his quiver. Notching it into place, he glances around, waiting for Cub to give the ok to move.
Ol' Scratch
Upon receiving the order, Laughing-Snow begins to slowly maneuver his way down the bowl and towards the target with his Ares in hand, moving in down and away from the rest of the team to cover the left flank.
moosegod
As the team finishes gliding into postition and awaiting Sarge to give the order, the sound of breaking glass rings out over the silent evening.
Ol' Scratch
Confident in the fact that he's all but invisible, Laughing-Snow simply stops in his tracks and slowly crouches down low, using whatever terrain is available to the best of his abilities, while he uses his Spatial Recognizer to home in on the location of the breaking glass.
Digital Heroin
Something here smelt of ambush, and the breaking glass has proven it. Windtalker drops prone and slowly reaches back to free his Alpha from its sling, and bring it to the ready.
Tanka
Johnny stops dead in his tracks. He glances towards the area of the initial glass shatter, then scans around.

He notices a guy with his arm out of a window holding a pair of white underwear. He hops on his team's radio frequencies right away.

"Uh... Guys... It came from the building and it's..." He hesitates. "Somebody is holding a pair of white undergarments out the window."

He zooms out and looks over at Wolfbrother.

"What do you want me to do?"
HMHVV Hunter
Wildheart unslings hit shotgun as the glass shatters, but stays low.

Could be a surrender flag, Wildheart thinks as he hears the radio say that the stuff being waved out the window is white underwear.
TinkerGnome
Nvwati, having barely moved since begining the action hits that mental switch and shimmers briefly before fading from view. He shifts his mental energies immediatly to the magical and wraps the NCO and the two men on point in an astral blanket of spell defence.
Grey
"Move in slowly, Team. If they want to surrender, that just makes our job easier. But I want everyone's eyes and ears open, it may be a fakeout. Give me an Astral scan of that fellow as well, whats his condition?"

With that, Wolf slowly starts to inch foward, towards the gate. His bow in hand, with an arrow notched, he gets ready for action at a moments notice. He also watches the turret that is there, ready to put a dikoted arrow in it if it so much as twitches.
Tanka
Johnny nods and quietly takes out the Barret. He looks through the scope and puts the turret in his sights. One gear turns and it's dead.

"I have the turret in my sights... Do you want me to wait for it to do something or should I look elsewhere?"
Grey
"Keep your eye on that turret, but don't let it keep you from noticing something besides it."
Tanka
Johnny zoomed in a bit on the base and took his eye from the scope. He left the Barret aimed at the turret, and kept his eyes mainly on the turret, but he left his eyes zoomed out enough to notice anything else around the base.
Grey
Wolf continues on, keeping an eye out for anything.
Ol' Scratch
Laughing-Snow resumes his progress forward, maneuvering towards the now-broken window, but doing so in a fashion so as to approach it from the side rather than straight-on.

"They seem to know we're here, sarge," he announces on his comm unit via his transducer. "Maybe one of us should make our presence known while the others stay concealed, just to see what they want. If it's a genuine cry for help or surrender, we shouldn't ignore it."
Grey
"I'll do it. You guys just cover me. Cub, can you remove me from your cover, or would you have to do it to us all?"
HMHVV Hunter
Wildheart inches forward slowly, covering his comrade who is about to step forward.

He also shifts his perception to the astral, trying to read the guy's aura to see if he's bluffing or if he's truthful.

(OOC: I'll post my Aura Reading test later, as I don't have my dice at the moment)
Shadow
Cub, can you remove me from your cover

"Yes," he replies over the comm.

"Spirit of the mountain, head my call, remove Wolf from cover."

The concealment on Wolf pulls back, leaving him stuck with whatever cammo he had to begin with.
Grey
Wolf continues on, ready for action, but also ready to talk. His Ruthenium wasn't on, so as the spirit pulls away from him, he is standing clear. Suddenly realizing he is standing in the open, that also means that turret is likely to see him now. He pulls on his bow and gets ready for release if moves at all.
moosegod
A man comes tumbling out the window and hauls himself over the wall, waving his underwear. He is wearing an armor vest with blood splattered on it and an empty knife sheath.
He does not have on any pants, and would make a comical spectacle if not for the pure terror on his face.
HMHVV Hunter
"Wolf, be careful," Wildheart whispers into his micro-transceiver. "The guy's highly emotional right now. Could have a twitchy trigger finger."

As his comrade approaches, Wildheart takes aim with his Mossberg at the window where the surrender flag came from, finger off the trigger so as not to activate the laser sight, but still ready.
Shadow
Cub see's the terror on the mans face, and smells the fear. He raises his hand and mentally commands his watcher to appear. "Go into that building," he says pointing at the one the man just came out of.

"Look in every room, through every door, in every cabinet. Return to me and tell me how many bodies of humans are in there."

Grey
"STOP RIGHT THERE! LAY DOWN WITH YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK!"

At this point Wolf doesn't want to take a chance of the turret catching any of the motion going on and lets his arrow fly, then quickly pulls out a fresh arrow and notches it into place, this time pointing at the man running at him.

"DOWN!"
moosegod
The arrow sticks in the turret, which fails to respond.

The man stares at you in shock and collapses the ground, but covers his head with his hands instead of putting them behind his back. You can hear his whimpering as you approach him.

Grey
Wolf approaches the man, with his arrow still aimed at him, not wanting to take any chances.

"Hawkwind, bind his arms and get him up."
Ol' Scratch
Reaching up to tap his control plate, Laughing-Snow almost seems to magically appear as he strides towards the man. He lets his Alpha fall limply from his sling next to him as he crouches down, grabs the mans arms, and binds them behind him with a pair of cuffs.

He then stands back up and retrieves his weapon. "Stand up," he barks in a firm but calm voice, reaching down to help him up with his free hand.
moosegod
The man is babbling in a language you barely recognize as Spanish. He goes with you quietly, straining to get away from the site as fast as possible.

Shadow:

"Hey boss, there ain't no humans or orcs or trolls or elves in there at all, sir! Not even a dwarf! There's blood and bullet cases and stuff, but no bodies!"
Ol' Scratch
Keeping one hand on the guy's cuffs, Laughing-Snow begins escorting him back to the sarge. "Calm down so we can understand you," he says in a perfectly accented Spanish.
TinkerGnome
Nvwati fingers the release tabs on his medkit, but doesn't do anything until ordered to do so.
Shadow
Cub nods, "search the compound, every room, every building, do not pass through any wards though. Report back to me if you find any bodies or wards, or when you have finished your search." Cub thinks for a moment about the implications.

"Wolf," he says in a low growl over the command net.

"There are no bodies in that building. Plenty of blood and bullets though. I am searching the remanding buildings, but I see two possibilities. The people inside are dead, and whatever killed them is gone. Or," he pauses for a moment.

"The people inside are dead, and whatever killed them just crawled out of the window."
Grey
Wolf escorts the back a ways back from the compound, back over the hills, not wanting to do anything within gunshot or sight of the place.

"Nvwati, give him a full checkup. Everyone who can, scan this guy Astrally and make sure he isn't possessed or something like that."
Shadow
Cub's eyes go wide with surprise as he realizes what the man meant. Over the comm, he says,

"Bugs. He says there are Bugs here."

"Mighty mountain, guard us all from any harm."

(OOC: he is commanding the Force 8 Spirit to guard the Wildcats)

Tanka
Johnny's eyes shoot wide open after the message.

"Bugs? Bugs?!" The next he spouts in Sioux. "Oh, gods, what have they let loose upon us... Wolfbrother, command me. Shall it be the LMG or the Great Dragon?"
HMHVV Hunter
Wildheart stands up at the mention of bugs.

"Oh man, time to kick some ass," he says, as me makes sure his shotgun is fully loaded and set on burst-fire.
Shadow
Cub growls over the comm.

'Wolf we should not be here, order the regular army to blow the holy hell out of this place. Silence is no longer a need."

He closes his eyes for a moment, concentrating hard. Sweat pour fromhis forehead. 3 seconds pass by and he stops. His effort is replaced by a shimmering barrier about him self.
