QUOTE (the report kzt just linked)
Two helicopter pilot's for different local area television stations stated the deceased pilot would normally arrive on a news scene and would stop the Sky 6 helicopter by conducting a cyclic climb maneuver. He would pitch the nose of the helicopter up to about a 45 degree angle or a near vertical nose-up attitude, and then bring the helicopter to a hover. He would normally be lower than the other helicopters on scene and would conduct high speed sideward flight. When he would depart a news site, he would make a very nose low departure, and when he departed TMB he would fly down the taxiway between 30 to 40 feet and he would make a cyclic climb departure.

wow, what a hotdogging dickhead. (that particular behavior stands out because we had a pilot almost wreck his and another Apache pulling that shit.)

hmm, something tells me the opening video of this thread is from one of these:

kzt
Nope, seems it was from a AH-64. Someone ID it as such and I have since seen others that look the same.
hobgoblin
well i just found the circling kinda funny. also, the radio chatter used the callsign "big gun" or something like that...

but now that i think about it, the hud elements looks similar to have i have seen used in apache simulators...
kzt
Yeah, I saw one where the Apache pilots were trying to determine whether this guy was armed and if he was if he was hostile. Then he stands up and shoots an AK at them. They say something like "Um, Is he shooting at us?" Then he disappeared in a hail of 30mm cannon shells.
Jhaiisiin
Umm.... bad as the loss of human life is, that video would be mildly amusing.

*disgusted tone* "Is he actually shooting at us?"

...
...

"Not anymore."
hobgoblin
if the world had access to all the gun camera footage and the radio chatter from recent conflicts...

I really do think the thread's title should have given you your first clue. wink.gif

The thread title does say "glitch" (successful but with some unintended side effect), not "critical glitch" (possibly life-threatening failure)....

True enough.

But if they were a 'bomb disposal unit' then it could be said that they actually succeeded, as they did effectively 'dispose' of the bomb.
