I don't know who pissed in everyone’s cheerios but let it be. We don't play in any of these guys games so there is no impact on how we play so who cares. I don't I'm done with this stuff.

Sorry folks, but I couldn't resist...

Yes, hence I found the Use Skill Action to shoot the Projectile Weapons.

So what about Called Shots with Bows, Crossbows, and Thrown Weapons?

What then is the wording of the Called Shots rule? Does its wording exclude Projectile Weapons and Thrown Weapons?

@ BullZeye:
10-12 shots per minute is equal to Re/Load (Standard) + Fire (Complex).

With training, you can achieve 20 shots per minute: Re/Load (Free) + Fire (Complex).

That is without any form of Initiative Enhancement. If the bow firing rate is Simple Action, then an amateur can still fire 20 arrows/minute, with a trained (Free Reload) can fire 30 arrows/minute - all with a single Initiative Pass. While I believe a wired individual can easily achieve a firing rate of 30/minute, that is rather absurd for an unaugmented individual.

Firing rates in SR are pretty abstract anyway. Ignoring magazine capacity, you can fire one full-auto per IP, so 12 bullets per pass, which, in turn, is 240 rpm unaugmented. According to a quick google search, your basic carbine (the M4) has a cyclic firing rate of ~800 rpm, meaning in SR you have to have 3 IPs per combat round before you can actually fire an assault rifle at full-auto.

Google search also says the M4 has a burst-fire rate of ~90rpm, but our unaugmented dude has a burst-fire rpm of 120 (3 bullets per simple action). With 4 IPs he'd be firing bursts at 480 rpm, which is more than 5 times the speed at which the weapon is physically capable of firing (in that mode).

I don't see why bow firing rates should be singled out for their absurdity.

To be fair, Shadowrun doesn't have an "empty the clip" firing mode option, which is the only time the actual firing rate would matter. Full-auto isn't holding down the trigger until the gun goes click-click-click.

Would be nice if there was an official rule for just that thing though. I think cover fire is about as close as it got in previous editions.

True, I was just pointing out that a certain level of abstraction is desirable in combat situations. Sure the bow's firing rate might be a little over the top, but it's not really noticable round-to-round, so generally, it's all good.
