Ok, out of sheer "Let's see what the numbers can do" I threw together a Dwarf Mage-Adept who sidelined in the porn industry. IT was a jokish character, but the more I added stuff, the more it became quite viable. I mean, he's almost a lawyer (Hasn't sat the bar exam yet - needs a higher chair, gah, I slay me.) and is a reasonably nice guy who happens to preform certian acts in front of the cameras.

Then my delightful partner threw together an Satyr poledancer (What do you mean she's not an exotic dancer - you can't get more exotic than THAT!?) who is looking to break into the Biz.

..Then the idea of "Betsy the Cow" - the StimSim Babe Minotaur came into being and now it's all starting to snowball.


Not to mention that the dwarf is being hunted by a rival studio and is having to keep a low profile...


I post this in the hopes that people can lend their ides regarding a run such as this - I'm aiming to have it set in the Seattle district (I seem to remember a mention in the Seattle Suppliment/Update regarding illegal "blue" movies being filmed in the farming areas, a good place to start.) as I'm afraid it's going to turn into an awakened version of "Orgasmo".

I'm also interested in the steamy underbelly of the Industry.

-Is there a weird Japanese fetish for the "undesirable" metas? I mean, If the Yaks
try to muscle in on the more..."exotic" stuff, there is a strong possibility of a highly-lucrative market for all those tightly-wound Japanacorp execs sleezing off home to indulge in really questionable Trids.

-The Mafia - always on the lookout for something profitable - may join in on an intra-criminal war over the business, sparking runner opportunities and the chance for the most ..."interesting" roleplay undercover opportunites.

The new emporer is trying to change this, but it'll take time.

A few higher-ups might have a fetish for it (No, not a Shaman fetish, you goofballs!), but I doubt all of them will.

You can hate metas, but unless anime has died a graceless death, there will probably a very quiet fetish for the exotic.

That exotic taste will probably find audiences in both Japan and the North American continent.

Would it be such a massive market that would draw the attention of crime syndicates? Possibly -- the porn business today has a _massive_ amount of money flowing through it.

If the characters are any good -- Perform (porno) 6? Certain parties might be interested in collecting the characters like any other company asset.

Rich or connected paramours or people interested in hookers and not porn stars may also crop up from time to time.

The concepts are quite valid, if a little off the beaten path of most characters.

It's not the worst idea I've ever had for ghouls. Or Voldo, for that matter. I mainly use these sort of things as ways to threaten my players out-of-game. Quite effective in all but one case.

On the whole Japanese meta fetish thing:

Firstly, you have the whole anime cat/demon/whatever the frag thing going in a plethora of titles so... Well, one must assume someone's buying it.

Second, here's the thing about fetishes, normally, the more taboo they are, the more illicit the fetish feels to the person with the those particular tastes, so, the whole meta-fetish thing may be d33p underground, but I guarantee it exists, and most likely, thrives in Japan. Remember, in any truly straight laced society (Such as Japan, or even modern America.) The fetish scene is bound to be darker and, almost by default more popular.

Hell, if you want to do metas in the sex industry, why not go whole hog and go for something like the dwarven shaman pornstar that specializes in S&M? I bet you there's a ridiculously lucrative market for it.
