Although I gotta admit, the mouth-splitting vampire was pretty slick.

Nah. The only real reason to watch that movie was Leonor Valera (earlier roles include Ballroom Beauty in The Man in the Iron Mask) with that brass hair-device.

Raygun, do you know how much the projectile in any of the standard 40mm HV rounds (M383/M384/M430) weigh? They're probably pretty close to the LV variants, so the weights of M433 or M406 projectiles would be useful too.

M406 projectile weight is 170 grams (2623 grains). The German equivalent of the M433 (DM12), projectile weight is 220 g (3395 gr). Don't have any weights on the HV loads, but they're probably more than 220 g, possibly closer to 300 g.

I wonder how long it takes before FN F-2000s start popping up in Hollywood movies, and then how long before OICWs...

Haven't seen an F2000 yet, but I believe there was an OICW (at least something that was supposed to be an OICW) in Die Another Day. Put to use by a North Korean, no less. Gotta love those Bond flicks.

Sorry, she doesn't do anything for me.

That'd make the muzzle energy on M203 and M79 478J/353ft-lbs. 27 00-buckshot pellets only weigh around 110 grams, though, so I wonder what that'd do to the muzzle velocity... But if a 10G magnum can fire 18 such pellets at 1100fps (4047J/2985ft-lbs), I think you'd better stick with the Roadblocker.

Assuming 280g for the HV grenades, that'd make the muzzle energy on the Mk19 8064J/5948ft-lbs, almost twice that of 10G loadings. But that shouldn't be too hard to handle, recoil-wise, for a troll, right?

Personally, any female that is not disfigured, obese or sickly thin does just about everything for me. I've always thought men shouldn't be so picky, considering how horribly ugly we are.

I am beautiful.

Bump it up quite a bit. It's really proving difficult to find any info on the M576. It's obviously a special load, being a bunch of pellets in a sabot. The sabotted projectile must be quite a bit smaller than the average grenade, which leaves some guess work involved for what happens to the space behind the projectile. Standard LV grenades work on the high/low pressure system. This one may not. I don't know. In any case, I would say that velocity is at least doubled. Which still isn't that great.

Me too, at this point.

Hell, put a stock and a pistol grip on a MK19 and a Troll probably wouldn't have many problems. Looking at recoil @ 53 fpe @ 6 fps.

Why didn't I think of that... It sure puts the Ares Thunderer to shame.

Actually, even better to go with an OCSW. They are probably as easy to get a hold of by the 2060s, and the ballistics seem better for this use: 25mm 132g(/0.291lbs/2037gr) projectile at 425mps/1393fps for 11900J/8800ft-lbs. Slightly higher recoil, but I think that's well worth it. For humans, better go with just the Payload Rifle.
