Everyone seems absolutely certain that natural immunity gives you all the benefits and none of the drawbacks. I think it's plausible to read it as making you immune to the benefits as well. I know it says "ill effects," but earlier in the description it's also described as immunity. Immunity to a drug isn't having all the fun happytime without crashing, it's ignoring the effects entirely. From the bizarre zealotry I've seen on this thread already I don't know if I'll convince anyone, but I'm seriously not impressed with natural immunity being played as nothing at all like immunity.

I tend to go with Larme. if you are immune to something, it has no effect on you. Good or bad.Whether you don't have the appropriate receptors, or whatever, the drug just doesn't get through.
Ravor
Exactly.

Yes, because fluff names are ALWAYS sane rational choices that neatly summerise the effects of the item in question and never blatantly contradict the reality of the rules. grinbig.gif
(cough) hyper-velocity guns (cough)

This is a thread about the crazy shit that is legal by RAW, you are free to instate sanity in your own game but it doesn't really help here.

EDIT: I misunderstood you at first, but I basically agree. The RAW is a mess when it comes to natural immunity. I just figure that we should pay attention to the word "immunity" otherwise it's a bit of a nonsense quality, both in terms of science and game balance.

The Wikipedia article you quote speaks both of synthesis and refinement, neither of which can be effected in an implanted gland.

Thank You Pbangarth...

Larme, maybe I'm naive, but I didn't read Generico's post the way you did. I thought for the most part he was calling you sane, but that the rules were crazy. Am I wearing rose-coloured glasses?

Hm, you're probably right now that I re-read it. I'll fix my post.

I am reading it, and, except in one instance, it is refering to Disease and Toxins. "no ill effects" would seem to be referring to the effects of a toxin. It seems to be a case of poor wording, more then saying that "The Drug does not cause you to crash, or suffer addiction rolls." I know, personally, I would not allow someone to take it be able to get the good stuff but not the bad. I think this falls into a RAW vs RAI argument, and, generally, would err towards an interpretation that is logical.

I do not think the Drug Sam is going to be immune to the drugs coursing through his/her body. Also, you know...arguing about rules minutiae is not very punk of you people! wink.gif

Edit:

Looking through the rules in the 2nd Printing of Arsenal, you have to go through a Toxin Resistance Test if you are taking the Natural Immunity, with Drugs assumed to be Power 6, and you have to manage to not reduce their power below your body for them to take effect.
