The offer as it stands.

Per-Diem is up front so 2,000 nuyen up front. And then every subsequent day, you have 3,000 nuyen deposited into your account, with a 60,000 split nuyen bonus if you recover the artifact that she is looking for. (Since there are four people at the table right now, it would be split 4 ways, to about 15,000 nuyen each). She is covering, travel and board expenses. This is all subject to negotiation of course.

Peter:
In character you are Hodder.
Out of character you shall hence forth be called "Belloq" smile.gif

Thus.
Spoiler for Belloq.
[ Spoiler ]
Karoline
Oh, darn, was hoping for 15k up front nyahnyah.gif

So I'm confused, what is the difference between the 400 per-diem and the 3,000 per day?

Edit: Also I thought it would be a five way split because it seemed like she had indicated herself as being one of the people who got part of the finder's fee (Which admittedly seemed weird that she would want such a small amount considering how much she is paying us)
SincereAgape
Hey Karoline.

The Per-Diem is an amount you will receive at the beginning of the day, and then then around Dusk you would get the rest of the money. So in this case 400 during Soykaf time, and then the other 2,600 when you are injecting the VITAS immunizations, consuming boozes, and injecting your narcotics.

-And for clarity. The upfront per-diem money is not taking out of the share of the first five days. So each of you will still be getting 3,000 nuyen a day.

The 60,000 is to split amongst the PCs.

Edited some of the descriptions for Samriel. Here is the official description of Samriel according to Ms. Johnson.

QUOTE
He is a tall elf with close cropped grey hair. His eyes are the color of a metallic silver. His eyes are oval shaped like almonds, and his ears stretch out fair horizontally. He has a heavily-muscled physique and is slightly under 6 feet or 1.8 meters.
Karoline
Thanks, that cleared alot up. Time to finally post I think... just gotta finish this oatmeal smile.gif
pbangarth
OK, I think I sorta, maybe understand the daily pay now.
pbangarth
Too bad it wasn't Bongo Slade coming through the club while that music was on. He would have reacted strongly. Hodder, on the other hand, was next to oblivious.

Off in the Dumpshock News etc. forum, someone raised the question whether it would be possible to see the latest posts BEFORE you post the thing you have been typing for ten minutes. Woulda helped here. Sorry Mr. Juan for interrupting. Oh well, that's what the GM gets the big bucks for.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Lots of other forums have that option, and it is very annoying that this one doesn't, though I suppose it is possible that you could copy your post into a notepad quick and refresh the thread before you post, but that is a bit of a pain.

edit:

Interrupting? Null presp man wink.gif You didn't interrupt me at all! Actually, you interrupted Dexter. I don't care, but he might feel offended grinbig.gif

Umm.. did we ever get a description of Hodder? Because right now he is a guy in a suit with obvious armor underneath it to me.
SincereAgape
Hi guys. I apologize ahead of time. I was reviewing my notes this morning and discovered that I had originally planned to change the amount of nuyen Ms. Johnson offers all of you. She has presented you with new terms as of post #13.

Originally I did not like the payment plan she presented the runners and neither did my pencil and paper group when we ran this mission. Last night I was somewhat tired, and I forgot that I had originally planned to change the payment to a fixed rate.

Karoline

Karoline
What about armor?

I think SincereAgape answered this already, but the (terse) description is in my 20 questions. Repeated here:

4+5. What do you look like/ dress like?
Tall and thin for a dwarf, almost could be a short human. Dark brown hair and eyes. A nice smile. Comfort and practical durability usually win out over latest fashion. Though natural fibres are very expensive, he would prefer one outfit of this material than several of cheaper synthetics.
6. Any Physical quirks?
No. Well, he often seems a little distracted, as if there were a conversation going on that he was listening to.

There is a degree of handsomness to the character. Hodder is someone who would rather talk his way out of a situation then use brute force.

pbangarth
SincereAgape, is the tattoo that just started glowing on the guard's neck similar in any way to the tattoos on the arm of Lockwood?
SincereAgape
Great question.

No relation.

Internet's working today!

Wohoo!!

I will post a message into the threa tonight once things get sorted out with work.
Karoline

Have to agree with Karoline, and say that you were missed. Even though it was only for 40 plus hours. But hey. Who's counting?
Chrysalis
Internet's down again. I am having to do this over my phone. Bloody expensive too I have to say. :/

Awe. That sucks. Come back when you can then.

We miss ya, but wouldn't want you to have to spend the extra money to post for the game.

*Hugs*
Chrysalis
Posted up responses in both... Not as good as I could have hoped. But better than some.
Karoline
Hope your internet gets better soon smile.gif

Also, I don't know why everyone is so afraid of the 16 year old nyahnyah.gif

*runs to google.... runs back*
Okay, yeah, well... they don't -know- she has that. There isn't even a ton of evidence for the characters yet (Though as runners I'm sure they are plenty paranoid to have already come to that guess) wink.gif
pbangarth
The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know. Somebody said that.

SincereAgape, recent further reading on Possession led me to ask these questions in the Possession FAQ, but really I need your position on them for this game. Could you let me know what you think, please? There could be some funny moments if I play this incorrectly.
SincereAgape
Hey Pete. Let me do some reading, over the next few days, and I'll get back to you. Send me a PM with what you have in mind, so I can look for exact ruling etc.
pbangarth
OK. If I do something crazy in the meantime, don't kill Hodder, OK?
SincereAgape
Sniper rifles on every roof top.

j/k.

So long as they are as accurate as a normal storm trooper and we are standing near enemies.
Mister Juan
Both Dexter and I are wondering: how overt can we be with our weaponry?
ie: are we going to have to dress in civies and pretend to be tourists while hiding our firepower.... or can we wear full bdu, with tac vest and assault rifles ? wink.gif

For Lagos. Aloha shirts, Top Gun like sunglasses, are bound to get you shot or the target for scams.

Armor and weapons out in the open is common, as long as it is not an exotic item that someone would be willing to kill you for.

QUOTE
With no controls on weapons, everyone has an AK, an RPG, a chainsaw, and three molotov cocktails so it falls to the PCs to be able to balance their aggressive postures with cool heads to stop every disagreement from turning into WW3.

Hmm... I think my gun might -look- normal enough to not qualify for that.

I guess I'll have to rely on the fact that Dexter's look will be enough of a deterent.
This just settled my debate "SMG or HVAR".
HVAR it is.

Also, camouflage wise, what sort of envrionment is Lagos considered? Jungle?

I'd guess Jungle/Swamp.
Karoline
Hmm, reading over some diseases, I think Botulism and Malaria are the two big things we'd need to worry about. Rating 6 inoculations against both would be 600 per person, but getting some standard anti-biotics and such might be a good idea as well. We can see how much Ms. J is willing to cover, then we might want to dip into that 5k signing bonus to get some more just to be safe.

Edit: Also, can we assume that she is paying us the 5k right now? And does today count as day one, or is that tomorrow (ie do we get another 3k?)?
SincereAgape
[Hi. Dexter. Karoline is right. Jungle, Swap type terrain.

@Karoline: Edited the most recent post. Everyone now has the 5,000 nuyen deposited into their accounts. The payment is a fixed rate. The total will come to 15,000 for a minimum of five days a work (Averages to 3,00 nuyen a day). 5,000 up front. 10,000 upon completion, plus a bonus if the artifact is recovered.]
SincereAgape
@Belloq. I read your post, concerning your three questions for FAQ#6 of Possessions spirits.

1.) No.
2.) Yes.
3.) Yes. It costs a service to shut off the damage power.

One more thing concerning possession mages. In FAQ#5, I have been reading the Dragon Heart Trilogy by Jak Koke and when Lethe possessed Burnout, no one was able to notice that Burnout was possessed except for the elven mage, Meyer. You may play it like this, thus the only people who are perceiving astrally can see that you are possessed.

BUT

It would be great if he it was roleplayed "THERE IS NO BELLOQ. Only ZULU." type of way. But it's up to you.

You keep changing the pay.

Probably wasn't clear enough. In post 112 of this OOC thread I tried my best to explain the payment change. The original offer was based off the written module for verbatum. And the night I wrote the first offer post I forgot that I had changed the payment from the book during the pre-planning phase of the adventure.

In post #13 of the IC thread, Ms. Johnson changed the payment to a fixed plan. Of 15,000 nuyen in total (Per runner), with 5,000 up front. Plus the 60,000 bonus for finding the artifact to be split amongst the group.

This way it is a lot less confusing, and the runners get more upfront.

Sorry for the confusion.

And Hawkeye countered with 3k a day pulse a 5,000 signing bonus with a five day minimum employment time, which Ms. J didn't object to, along with all the other things promised (Meaning the air fare and what all else not).

Also, you make it very unclear as to if the 5000 comes out of the 15000 payment or not because you keep changing what words you use. With the offer that Hawkeye put up, the 5k is a bonus.

Edit: I've been keeping very close tabs on the pay wink.gif nyahnyah.gif

@Karoline: You rock, babe! Keep those eyes on the money!

@SincereAgape: Serves me right for trying something new without thinking it through. So, Hodder is specialized for... you guessed it... fire spirits.

You want "ZHUUL", SA? Hodder can give you ZHUUL!!!!

Fuck.
Karoline
Hmmm, so what about my burning off the clothing question? I want to see the time where he forgets to turn off the fire aura before he has himself possessed and suddenly finds himself exceptionally well protected but completely naked.

QUOTE
@Karoline: You rock, babe! Keep those eyes on the money!

Always wink.gif
pbangarth
No, no, the aura goes out from him, and the energy goes outwards too. I think it best if we drop the idea of burning clothing, OK? No ideas to the GM, OK? He doesn't need any help making the possession mage's life miserable, OK?
