@Beckett:
[ Spoiler ]

On board the plane, the soothing monotone of Dunne informs the crew that they will be landing shortly. "Once we hit blacktop, you will be escorted to our primary location within Park Parking. There you will be outfitted and briefed as to the most current situation. Please hold all questions until we land. Thank you."

Tashio
Guess that is that.

Becket returns quickly to the plane. Shaking his head as he slips back into his own body.

Well that little group is alligator dinner. Hopefully the last group, couldn't see any others.
SinN
Jack moves to his seat. He grabs the seat belt, then tosses it back down again.

Whatever..

Jack sits back in his seat and takes a deep breath.

Anyone get yhe license plate on that asshole? rubbing his head and opening his eyes wide and then shut in an attempt to focus his vision after that blow to the head.

The elf moves to the back of the plane, intent on finding someplace larger than the lavatory to change into his armor.
I've no intention of being caught with my proverbial pants down.

Setting up a quick group chat via his comm, Ambar sends out the e-vite to the team, then runs an encryption code to lock it up.

<<<<@Team[Ambar/Morn] It's at this point that I'm reminded the expense of something like our transportation, and wonder at our own price tag.

Either way, I think we should be prepared to hit the ground running, as literally as possible. The more time we take on our infiltration, the more time our opposition, whatever they are, has to settle in and prepare. Assuming there's some sort of guidance behind these actinos, they have to know that someone will be coming for them.>>>

QUOTE (Dr.Funkenstein)
Before he was even able to process what was happening, one of Scratch's cybernetic hands was clenching his armrest while the other was racing to catch his newly modified shotgun before the artificially induced turbulance had the opportunity to bang it around the cabin. And, Hell, by the time he was able to process it, the whole situation was over and done with. God bless modern implants, eh? Removing the need to think for yourself since 2019! <virtual thumbs up>

After setting the gun back down on the table and hearing the liason's address over the intercom, the satyr goes about prepping himself. It takes him a bit of time but when he's done the end result would be almost comical if it wasn't so damn intimidating. He was now dressed in a full SWAT-style set of armor, though it lacked any patches or other identifiers save for a crude smiley face painted on his chest. He was packing no less than six sidearms, with both his shotgun and some big honking gun that you can't even identify slung across his back. Supply and ammo pouches were clinging to every place he could find to hook one on, and he still had both an assault rifle and one of his kevlar bags chock full of God only knows what that he was clearly planning to carry into the park, too.

The most terrifying thing is that when he stood up to test the distribution of the load, he didn't look to be at all encumbered by any of it.

By the time he was done, Dunne was putting up the NO SMOKING sign. Nestling back into his seat, Scratch decided to pull a Jack and light one up anyway while he waited for the inevitable chaos to ensue. A moment later, just as Scratch was beginning to relax again, Ambar piped up on the comm system. The beastly goat punched a few buttons on his commlink before finding a secure place to tuck it into his setup, apparently confirming the e-vite and setting a few other preferences up. His sole reply to the message itself was carried over open air: "Ready to rock, cap'n."
Lady Door
The plane touches down smoothly, wheels hitting the tarmac with barely a bounce. For those used to the long taxis of commercial craft, the ride is almost comically short. Within two minutes, the jet has come to a full and complete stop and Dunne is already at the door, a now-familiar smile already on his face.

"Welcome to Orlando, gentlemen. I hope you enjoy your stay. As I will be providing transport back to Seattle for those of you who would care to fly with us again - I hope to see you soon."

The door pops open with a pneumatic hiss of pressurized air and the sudden wave of heat and humidity hits you like a wet blanket. Underneath the armor and the clothes-that-were-fine-in-Seattle, sweat begins to pour almost immediately.

Outside, a series of six black SUV's wait, engines running. A man dressed in full jungle tactical assault gear hops out of the second SUV, his movements more graceful then his size should allow. He approaches the group and begins pointing off the SUV's.

"You and you..." He points towards Morn and Beckett and then towards the third SUV. "... that's your ride." He then points to Jack and Scratch. "You and you, you're in Four." He nods as if this has now satisfied his need for communication and moves back towards the second SUV.
fistandantilus4.0
Standing inside the doorway still, Morn takes a moment, looking around, observing their surroundings while the others file out to their respective vehicles. He wears a full trench coat, carrying a small black duffle bag, apparently none the worst for the heat.

Jack exits the plane and nods at the man handing out instructions.

Looks like I'm with you Scratch. Let's roll

He heads to the vehicle, placing his gear inside.
Tashio
Beckett easily picks up the large bag and exits the plane with the others.

Any updates on permissions from the Knights and any on our requested equipment?

<<<<[@Team[Beckett]I'm good to go, thought I'd like to try organise a bound air spirit to help with cover, if not can pull one on the fly. I just hope our friends with the missile launchers don't object to much once we're inside the park.>>>>

He carefully places his bag in the back of the designated van and turns to Morn. Guess it's you and me for this ride.
Lady Door
@Morn:
[ Spoiler ]

Once everyone is inside their respective vehicles, they move out. Once on the road, the intercom system kicks on. "My name is Geoff Buchanan, Special Assignments Operative for Horizon. I will be your point of contact on this mission so please direct any and all communications to me." The voice is that of the man who spoke to you on the tarmac, rough and abrupt. "Mr. Greer has informed me that each of you may have an equipment list. If you will please forward those to me now using the listed comm code, I can make arrangements for that gear to be waiting for you. Our ETA to rendezvous point is 45 minutes. And to answer your question, Mr. ... Beckett, no. There has been no progress in arrangements with ARES." The intercom clicks back off, but a comm code is left onscreen, flashing red.

fistandantilus4.0
Hoping for the best with the requested drones, Morn quietly sends the forwarded list, then sits back to wait, watching out the window, and their chauffers.
Lady Door
The drive to the rendezvous location is remarkably quiet, in fact, the only sign that something is amiss in the Magic Kingdom doesn't come until the team is within five miles of their destination. A Northrup Yellowjacket emblazoned with the ARES corp logo buzzes their caravan as they approach, before heading up and over the park itself. The helicopter is clearly employing evasive maneuver techniques. Within a minute, the copter has disappeared from sight.

Coming closer, the landmark Castle at the heart of Disney World can be seen. However, the additions of thousands of vines and roses appear to be new. It would be a rather beautiful sight, if some of the same vines weren't twisting independently in the air. As the group watches, one of the vines shoots off the Castle and snags something out of the air before coiling back up onto itself.

The SUV turns off the main road and into a series of sentry guarded gates. A row of media vehicles press forward, drones and reporters desperate for a picture of who's in the vehicles or the park itself. A minute after that, the caravan is within the parking lot proper. The scene is something out of some post-Apocalyptic Sim-flick. Everywhere tents and semi-permanent structures have been established. SWAT teams, HRT units, para-military squads... they're all there. Each of them sequestered behind makeshift perimeter gates. Men and women in uniform are everywhere. For those of you from Desert Wars or the Renraku Arcology, the scene looks hauntingly familiar. The only difference here is the sheer number of corp presences represented: ARES, Horizon, Evo, Wolverine, Lone Star, etc.

The caravan slides through another series of checkpoints before finally coming to a stop outside a barricaded group of hastily erected ModPods. Men in black combat gear patrol the outside with HMG's and sidearms. Over the SUV's intercom system, Buchanan's voice can once again be heard.

"Command Center, gentlemen. Everyone out."
Tashio
Beckett looks around as he climbs from the vehicle.

<<<[@Team[Beckett]All this and they need us 4? Wonder how many of those other groups are planing on sending teams in and for what purpose.>>>

Once everyone is out he heads towards the enterance to the Pods.
SinN
Jack regards the message for a moment and nods in agreemant to Beckett.

<<<Jack@Team>>>Just keep your good eye on it. Im not smellin rat just yet. But I aint sniffin roses either.

So how soon before I can make make "Lost in Disneyland" jokes. Ya know, cuz they're grown ups. Normally kids get lost in Disneyland. He waits for someone to get it, holding out his hands as to say Look at me!

He starts getting his gear out of the car.

I mean, seriously though. Normally you send security to find some kid who gets separated from his parents. But as soon as a couple adults go missing, they call in the calvary.
fistandantilus4.0

<<<@Team{Ambar} When kids go missing, it's not usually because of dinosaurs and pirates. They might be more concerned if that were normally the case.

These others are likely here because of the Renraku Arcology. They remember, and so they're marshalling forces. There's a lot of people in there. We're here for the "premium" guests I guess.

Are we ready? I'd like to go in ASAP.>>>

Morn moves insides the tents, taking a look around for a place to get situated, then checks the time and their location against their hopeful angle of approach, looking for the best chance to get moving on the Disencahnted Kingdom.

Wait, if it's a 'kingdom', who's the king anyway? ...

Lady Door
Inside, the main Pod is a veritable maze of wires, communication equipment, AR screens, and overlays. The place practically thrums with electrical energy. On the walls, paper maps and reports are tacked over elaborately painted designs. A blonde, human woman wearing urban camouflage BDU's looks up as you walk through the door. She hands an AR pad to the man standing beside her and walks over. Her posture is impeccable, her manner that of a soldier or field agent. When she talks she keeps her hands in front of her, one fist cupped in the palm of the other. Her body is twisted slightly away from the team, as if she's readying herself to move at the slightest provocation.

"Good evening, gentlemen. I'm Colonel Scott. I'll be handling the communications and recon portion of your Op. Your equipment lists have been forwarded to us by Sergeant Buchanan and the requested gear should arrive shortly." She indicates a large AR screen with a topographical map of the park. Several red dots glow here or there, seeming to indicate entrance and exit points. "If you will please direct your attention over here... I assume by now you've had a chance to look over the maps provided of the park and the 'Utildoor' system underneath it. Have you strategized a method of entry yet?"
SinN
Jack raises his hand and quickly turns to his teammates.

Can I re-negotiate my pay for just her instead? He says pointing to the Colonel.
fistandantilus4.0
Interesting. They're more on edge than we are. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised to find that they don't trust 'runners'.

We'd looked at making the waterway 'ride' our primary egress route. We'd like to move as soon as possible. Are these news crews going to be a problem?

Ambar/Morn is all business right now. The less exposure the team has to groups like this the better. There's no point in acknowledging Jack. It would only encourage him.
SinN
He whispers to Scratch.

....Im serious.
Tashio
Beckett looks over the map infront of him reviewing the information previously discussed.

I think the news crews are the least of our worries, I'd be more worried about those out there that might just decide they have had enough and play hardball, with a very large high velocity ball. Who else has made a move to infiltrate the complex, who else has vested interest inside of the park aside from making sure things don't go the way of the shutdown, and would any of them have an interest in your people more specifically. This rescue mission is going to be tough as it is given the enviroment, last thing we need is to be doing rescue and counter extraction, by now I'm pretty sure the others out there know why you are here.
fistandantilus4.0
Morn shakes his head There's dozens of tents here. We move fast, so that we're finishing while their still removing their heads from uncomfortable places. it will take them forever to corrdinate such a mess, and still keep the media back. We should be fine, if we move quickly.
Lady Door
The Colonel regards Jack like one might a rather annoying insect. Beneath her notice, but if need be... she'll squish it. When she's sure he has her point, her eyes slide over to Morn. She steps forward and taps the map once, bringing it from topographical to a side view. She highlights the water-plume slide. The map morphs into a top down view of the waterways and viaducts spilling off from the ride.

"The waterways are good. We thought of them ourselves originally. The only problem is that they have been claimed by some sort of ... entity. However, this entity could be exactly what you need. No one's bothered trying to take any of the water routes in... could be this entity has had some time to grow lax." She pauses and activates another feed, this one of the media collective outside. "Press won't be a problem for us. We've already brokered a deal with all non-Horizon affiliates and will be feeding them an exclusive shortly after you enter." She smiles. "That should keep the sharks in a frenzy for awhile. Either way, your faces won't be seen. She eyes Morn's gear. "Good call on the Camera Neutralizer, by the way. Not to many people realize how useful it can be."

She taps the AR feed of the news crews and it minimizes to an icon. "Any other questions? She listens as Beckett outlines his reservations. "I can understand your concerns, Mr. Beckett. As for who has already mounted offensives, our information is limited. We believe that Evo already has their HRT team inside. We believe they may have people inside as well. Preliminary research says that it may be the CFO of their New York office. However, that's simply conjecture at this point. As for the others, we just don't know. Everyone is playing their cards pretty close to the vest. As for the idea of someone "nuking the place from orbit" ... that's a no-go. While no one wants another Shutdown scenario, no one in their right mind is going to bring the media firestorm that killing thousands of innocent children would cause down upon themselves. Just not going to happen." The Colonel pauses for a moment, holding up a hand in a "Just one moment" gesture. From her appearance, she seems to be distracted by something happening out of sight. Finally, she nods and returns her focus to the crew.

"My apologies, 'hectic' doesn't even begin to describe how it's been here. To continue, Mr. Beckett, no... we do not believe anyone else has a vested interest in our people. That's not to say that someone in there hasn't seen them and made a play for the kind of information they have. That, we can't know. However, there's been no shadowtalk. None of the usual spike in chatter. Take from that what you will. Now, if you gentlemen will excuse me... I have to get back to the comms station. Feel free to use the board, it uses standard voice and touch activation." She offers a tight smile, turns and heads back to the central comms platform.

Buchanan, quiet up until this point, steps forward. "Gentlemen, we've prepared a ready room for you. If you'll follow me... It sounds like a request, it's not.

Inside the "ready room" is a long table, seven chairs (one conveniently Troll-sized) and a giant AR board stretched against the back wall. Another small table holds several bottled waters, sodas, and snack packs of cookies and chips. The AR board is already laid out with the maps you saw in the Command Center.
fistandantilus4.0
Morn follows, staying close to Buchanan.

They have more information. We need it.
The elf passes on taking a seat, standing instead in the ready room.
Special Agent, can you tell us more about this 'entity'? A claimed area with only one point of opposition could give us a good in and out, if everything else inside is assumign the area is claimed.
Lady Door
Buchanan thinks for a moment before speaking. "From what we've been able to ascertain, this entity has been able to control the mechanics of the ride itself. The "log boats" have begun traveling at incredible speeds, jumping the rails, attempting to pin those that enter the water ... and the original counter response team was killed when the water electrified around them. We're not entirely sure who/what is doing it but our hackers haven't been able to get even remotely close to the system."
fistandantilus4.0
The elf nods, already considering the possibities of what might be in store for them.
You have the schematics of the place, correct? Public works? Where's the power coming from?
Lady Door
Buchanan nods. He walks over to the AR screen and touches several of the icons in rapid succession. A large grid of some sort pops up. "This, from what we've been able to gather, was the system architecture before the "attack". How true this mapping is now is anyone's guess. As for power... unfortunately, for us... Disney houses a power plant on-site. He taps another series of icons and the UtiliDoors map comes up. He hits it again and it rotates on its axis, showing a side view and a lower level. "Here."
fistandantilus4.0
And the hardlines to that section? The transformers are likely above ground for maitenance. We should be able to take those out and disable much of this 'entities' abilities, assuming its electronic.
Lady Door
Buchanan shrugs. "We don't know. Disney itself is a AA corporation, with all the rights therein. Including extraterritoriality and exclusions from utility records disclosure. Everything we've managed to patch together so far is from our own hackers." He looks at Morn, a little bit of challenge in his eyes.

Following Buchanan into the room, standing next to the table infront of the large seat provided for him. He places the bag he's been carrying down next to it.

Well at least in that regard it has limited ammunition.

Entity? Perhaps I can do something about that. Paranormal sort of comes my way a bit more than Id care to admit. Alot of the time, a solution to getting rid of them is simple. As simple as hearing it out, and if not, pressing the right buttons, in this case, perhaps literly. But you have to be careful when dealing with these kinds of things. The wrong button just might land you a trip to Hell you werent ready for.

As Jack starts to speak he notices Buchanon's tone, and even more, his body language. He turns his attention to Buchanon, then Morn, then back to Buchanon.

Do we have an issue Mr. Buchanon? I just can't help but notice that you look a tad aprehensive.
Lady Door
Buchanan begins to respond to Jack, but is brought up short by the tone of his second question. His gaze sharpens for the briefest of moments but he continues as if Jack never spoke.

"As for the entity in the water ride, we are highly doubtful it is paranormal in nature. It's abilities suggest the work of a Spider of some sort." He pauses as if listening to someone/something before continuing. "I'll leave you to prepare. I'll have your gear sent in when it arrives." With that, Buchanan walks out of the room.
fistandantilus4.0
The elf watches the man go for a moment, then turns to the team.

I'd strongly suggest going through whatever gear they provide for you. It would seem they don't much care for outsiders. They likely don't see a need for us, and think we're getting in the way of them doing their job.

Which means we'll have to be extremely careful on our insertion. Or betray them first.
SinN
As Buchanon leaves Jack flips him the bird with a disgusted look on his face.

Prick. He says to himself, but not exactly at a whisper.

He turns to his team.

Well boys, Im itchin to get started. Who's ready?
fistandantilus4.0
.... We still need the gear Jack.
SinN
Jack shakes his head.

Brought my own. I aint askin these jerkoffs for nothin.

He looks up grinning.

But I may ask you for a few things.
fistandantilus4.0
The elf looks at the odd human.

I may watch your back, but I am not scratching it. Or anything else. Put those illusions behind you.

We're agreed then to move from the north side, coming in from the back fence line into the 'ToonTown' zone?
Finding the security office may be difficult. I'd suggest finding a 'Lost Child' area. They should havea direct link from there. Any of the cameras would as well, but I expect those links would be better watched in the system.

Morn is careful of his proximity to jack for a little while. Pervy elf fancier.
SinN
Jack sort of lets out an uncomfortable chuckle.

You relize I meant gear....Know what? Dont give a shit. Jack seems to go one like either it didnt happen, or he doesnt care that it did.

Back to bussiness, Im still for going through with the plan. North side. Im ready. If we should encounter this entitiy, Scratch and I can handle it. It can hit things, so we can hit it. If we can hit it, we can kill it.
fistandantilus4.0
Morn nods slowly, still keeping that cautionary gap.
Of Course. Your logic astounds me. You ... did catch the part where they said it was likely a spider, not a spirit?

The elf is trying not to be an asshole. Jack seems to be the type where it's easy to get on his .... other ... bad side.
SinN
Jack nods slowly as if coming to relize this bit of news.

To be honest, I was completley spacing that guy out. Its almost painful to think whats up his ass that makes him talk that way. Not to mention the girly little walk he did on his way out. I mean, these are our back up? Might as well get us the girl scouts. But either way, we can kill it.
Lady Door
QUOTE (Doc Funk)
Scratch had been keeping to himself for a good while now. Clearly he was still fuming more than a little bit about Jack's attitude, and he's come close to just sucker punching him about a half dozen times now. Which isn't really that surprising considering that he's, you know, a satyr and all. Next to an Irishman, few people have as hot as a temper as they do. Every time he speaks for Scratch, the goat's eye just sort of twitches.

Then Buchannan and the Colonel enter the scene. When Jack starts up with the 'tude again, a perverse sense of glee fills Scratch's heart when he sees how the two soldiers react. Maybe if he bides his time, Scratch won't have to ruin his street rep to teach the jackass a lesson. Excellent.

But despite the tension caused by the assholery actions, Scratch's coprocessor keeps at least the stone cold professional part of him in check. The cameras in his eyes scan all of the latest maps in the pod, extrapolating pertinent data and interweaving it into the hybrid mapsoft his orientation system has been building. While doing so, he's also busy checking and rechecking his ammo counts, readjusting his internal servos to get the load distribution just right, all while simultaneously paying attention to everything being said by those who actually matter. Unlike that fraggin' tunahead Jack.

With a grumble, Scratch rolls his shoulder a bit and tries to remain in control.
SinN
Jack glances over at Scratch.

You really should get that eye checked out. Keeps twitchin.

He folds his arms and continues to listen to the plan as Morn does his thing.
fistandantilus4.0
Laying out their route in, Morn is looking for anything the Horizon forces have beyond a park map to help detail their insertion. Including looking for a lost child point or anything that says "Security".
SinN
Hey Morn, What would happen if two of us came from the north into Toontown, and the other two came in from the Northeast. We could flank the spider, at best. One less thing to worry about, and possibly get a clue as to where we need to be. It sounds like nonesense, but you never know what we can find. Im just sayin, if we all go in the same side, at the same time, it could hinder us a tad. We wont be too far from eachother, and it'll give us the element of suprise. Instead of it sneaking up on us.
fistandantilus4.0
This is a big park. The distance from those two points is almost a mile. We also don't know where the soider is. He, or she, could be underground, or even networkign from somewhere completely different. Too many variables, in my opinion anyway. And two entry points means two places we may set off alerts. If we move as one, we can use all of our resources. If we encounter opposition, between the four of us, we'll also expend less ammunition.

That isn't to say that two man pairs would be a bad choice. The distance however could be a problem.
SinN
Then we'll come in somewhere closer. We can cover more ground this way, even set up some kind of perimeter. Also, get familar with the park faster. Map out key points, set up meeting points for later on when we need them. Maybe clear out some areas for some safe zones.

Jack shrugs

Just seemed like you're doing all the work here. Just wanted to help out.
Lady Door
QUOTE (Doc Funk)
Completely tuning the knob-end out, Scratch turns to face Morn.

"No no no, splitting up is a very bad idea, man. If this spider," he pauses for a moment, a cloud of air puffing out of his nostrils in derision at the idea of it just being a rigger, "is at all intelligent, and he clearly is, splitting up is what he's going to want us to do. 'Divide and conquer' and all that. No sense helping him out this early in the game, especially since we have no idea what we're going to be facing. We need to stick together and watch each other's backs. That's the only way we're going to survive this drek. Hmm, but then again..."

Scratch pauses for a moment. He considers volunteering Jack for suicide... err, "recon" duty. But no sense to add fuel to the fire. The goat-boy's gotta keep to the higher road.

"...nah, nevermind. We definitely need to stick together. No ifs, ands, or buttheads about it."
