Lessee, we got a critter book, a book about smuggling locations, an aircraft book, a piece of enhanced fiction, a gun book, a book about Awakened plants, and some optional rules for adepts. And hopefully a SotA installment.

Surely with that kind of resources available you could afford erratas and FAQs written by someone remotely competent.

Then make with the uncomplicated nutshell explanation.

Maybe they are afraid of the curse of Rigger 3...

I can grok that. But I'm sure it's got to be more than that.

For all I know, the Pegasi would even be willing to send all the files again, in case they got lost in the late unpleasantness. I'd really only like to know when and if these vehicles, and the errata, are planned to be brought out.

Even if the Errata aren't free, paying $5 for them still will likely make people feel less fucked over than having to buy a reprint of the errata'd book, I assume.

Yeah, that pretty much removes "better, cheaper, and more available".

A piece of military-grade hardware that is obsolescent, like the CAS Wandjina, starts with a device rating of 5 minus 1 or 4, upgradable to 6 without needing to spend the 1000 yen for modular electronics.

A security grade drone like the Strato 9, which is also obsolescent (it turns out they all are,) starts with a device rating of 3, upgradable to 5.

You can still use the same R6 Firewall, R6 optimized Analyze program, the same everything.
There is nothing making these drones any different than any other. Not a single one of the drones actually has the Obsolete quality.
As far as I've seen in the sample PDF, which is my only frame of reference, none of the drones is anything besides Obsolescent. Not one.

If I remember correctly, the Predator is obsolete... I am pretty sure that there were a couple with that Quality, though none from SR3, which are only just a bit obsolescent (only a few years out of date)...

My impression is that CGL is withholding errata simply as a matter of principle, any other explainations just don't work out nyahnyah.gif

About 3/7 of the drones are Obsolete, those are current day drone desings, the ones from SR3 are only Obsolescent, as their not that old desings.

Well, you shouldn't be basing your opinion on the preview, then. There's quite a number of obsolete drones in the pdf.

So the preview just contains all the considerably-more-powerful-than-current-standard drones, but, if I buy it, then I get all the garbage drones too?

Super keen.

How about we just pretend that, when I say that they're ridiculous by the standard set forth in the new books, I'm talking about those drones ported from SR3, that can mount main guns off the rack? Is that acceptable?

Shhh! Shhhh! We don't want to scare them off when they just started acknowledging us again!

No, the preview contains the as-powerful-as-any-other drones, but if you buy it, you get a bunch more of these. Discussing something without actually reading it is a very...peculiar idea.
Which drones do you see there with a Heavy Turret upgrade? The one allowing to mount main guns?

Unless you're a video game reviewer. Cue rim-shot please.

This is the Internet, it's very common.

I found "This Old Drone" to be quite a good read, and look forward to using some of them if that group I'm hopefully joining happens.

MilSpecTech I liked if I can ever GM again, and I do think my character will be saving up for an MPUV for Barrens Driving.

Well, I was a bit put off by the Talarion being written wrong and a couple other canon issues, but it was nice to see a couple of the drones from SR3 again, especially ones that fill needed gaps that Arsenal leaves for the sake of toy drones and wheelchairs. If it received an errata update it would be a pdf well worth it's money.

The only drone like this is the drone tank in MilSpec Tech. Ever. However, in sR3, most larger fighter drones could mount even the biggest missiles, the Sea Saber ship killer. 120D baby.
