Got the map! Thanks!
Book Assensing the inner ward:
[6,1,3,4,2] = 1 hit
Assense the three guards [
rolls]
- Human: [2,3,6,2,5,4,1] = 2 hits
- Ork: [2,4,6,5,6,2,4] = 3 hits
- Elf: [6,5,1,5,4,4,3] = 3 hits
Assense the statue:
[4,4,2,2,6] 1 hit
Re-assensing the inner ward later:
[3,3,4,2,6] = 1 hit
Assense the statue on the way out:
[4,5,6,2,1] 2 hits

Outer ward was created by someone who is roughly as strong as Book; however the signature is unknown.
The inner ward remains a mystery.
The statue has no notable properties. It is simple a carved rock.
The human guard's aura is clean. That strikes Book as unusual. The Ork and Elf both have cyberware in their spine and along their bodies. There is more at their eyes and the ork's arm is not natural - although it appears normal to normal sight. Their essence is less than Book's

The human is awakened.

Next question. In reviewing the security footage, what about the locks? Maglocks? Keyswipe?Key locks?
ludomastro

The locks for the outer doors are maglocks with RFID readers attached to them. The interior doors off the halls are a combination of RFID readers and keyswipes. Every now and then you see a key lock; however, there are no key locks between you and the statue. That you saw anyway.

How funny, I was just working on a reply.
Does the intel gathered include personnel dossiers? If so, any notes about spells used or personal security notes? I assume they probably use their own company for home security..?
ludomastro
Feb 5 2008, 03:36 AM
They indeed do use their own company for security. The catch is that they specialize in magical security not physical and these two are the primary mages in the company. Therefore, they are the ones working on the wards ... and off the official books.

So assuming we are able to locate the platform and side grinder, what are the costs?
Also, what about the mage mask? Simple zip-tie restraints list for 1

for 10, that will be ok.
Once we have that, I think I'm ready to bump to Wednesday and actually start the run...
Wow... Who would have thought a month and a half in on a pbp and we are finishing the leg work.

The glue sprayer with about 3 doses of glue, half a dozen neuro-stun grenades and a pair of gas masks are ready Wednesday, right?
The doberman with an Ingram and three clips of Stick-N-Shock are Friday, right? Well at least we'll have that for the next run..
ludomastro
Feb 15 2008, 01:35 AM
Actually, they will have all the toys by Wednesday. Define what features you want in the mage mask and I'll give you a price. I have a headache right now so I may not be back on tonight.
Redjack
Feb 16 2008, 03:14 PM
I'm not able to find an entry anywhere for a feature list of mage mask. I was thinking it was a hood that allowed a mage to breath, but stopped line of sight. I would require some type of living matter in the lining to prevent projecting. Not sure though was can been done to stop summoning...?
ludomastro
Feb 16 2008, 05:29 PM
There was a description in an old 2nd Ed Sourcebook - either that or my GM had an overactive imagination.
I would go with a mask that cover the entire face, allows breathing through a tube but not speech (just in case he has a geas), bombards the senses with flashes of light and pulses of sound, oh and a layer of astrally active live moss sewn into the fabric. They aren't cheap and unless you are law enforcement you can't legally own one. I'd set the price for such a delux model around 1000 nuyen.
Redjack
Feb 18 2008, 01:47 AM
Rock and Roll. The deluxe model will be it. No sense taking chances.
Great news on the gear by Wednesday.
Tank will pay the 4200 for the doberman out of his savings.
Here are are the expenses I have so far for the run
4,000

300

Finders few to Digger
150

Team lunch/Italian restaurant
250

Glue Sprayer w/3 doses of glue, half a dozen neuro-stun grenades and a pair of gas masks
1,000

1

10 plastic restraints
????

Rolling platform

50

I HATE SHOPPING. My wife decided that we all needed to go buy a printer. So, please forgive me the delay. Did I mention that I hate shopping?
-----
First our spirit:
The force 6 spirit (hey, I rolled a die for force) rolls his initiative and gets 6 hits + 3 = 9. You get to go first.
Now it rolls its willpower (aka force on astral) and gets 4 successes so he doesn't take any damage.
Since
Book only has 1 IP, I hope that our mage calls off the nice kitty.

Now, our mage:
He has a
body willpower (stun damage) of 4 with an impact rating of 3 on his jacket. Rolling his 6 dice he gets 3 successes. He takes 8 boxes of stun and that leaves him 2 boxes. He isn't looking too good.

Side Note:
I love having an index in the BBB. I am GMing a Star Wars game on-line and the book has no index. The pages don't even cross reference. The tables aren't named! I love Star Wars but the old West End Games book was definitely first gen stuff.

I bought a Brother laser printer several years ago. I gave up on the color printers, they are a scam. The FTC should investigate them over the ink in them. We go through a toner cartridge every 3-5 months, but we print a crazy amount.. We go through three several cases of paper every year.
And yes, I hate to go shopping with the whole family as well..
-------------------
Book F9 Stunbolt:
[6,3,3,3,3,5,3,1,4] = 2 hits
Resist DV3 Drain:
[1,5,2,1,3,5,6,2,4,3] = 3 hits; No Drain
Tank1) Short, narrow burst
[2,5,5,4,5,4,3,5,2,6,3,6] = 6 hits
I just realized that gunnery is a complex action, not a simple one (even a short burst) so this second shot will be his next available shot. 2) Short, narrow burst
[1,6,3,3,4,6,1,4,3,4,2,4] = 2 hits
I have just recently really dived into the rules dealing with combating spirits. That was eye opening.
-------------------
Several of the newer Catalyst books are without index. That is REALLY frustrating me..
ludomastro
Feb 29 2008, 04:48 PM
@Tank
I am assuming that you are not switching out ammo?
6S + 2 (narrow burst) + 6 (hits) = 14S > 12 (spirit armor = 2xF). You hit.
Spirit rolls 8 (Body) + 12 (armor = Fx2) = 20 = 7 hits.
14-7=7S out of 11.
@Book
Stunbolt with 3 successes. Spirit rolls Willpower (6) = 2 hits. Book gets one net success = 10S.
Spirit is disrupted.
-----

NO INDEX??!?? What are they thinking?
Redjack
Feb 29 2008, 07:22 PM
Assense the shaman:
[2,5,2,5,3,5,6] = 4 hits
Buys hits for summon/drain for a 2 hour watcher.
I posted assuming that the mage is unconscious. If not, Tank will take the third shot (2 hits - previous OOC post) to try and down him.
---------------
Yea. I got Augmentation at GenCon. No index. That was a bummer. They were fighting a deadline. I hope there is at least an updated PDF made available with indexes.
