3) Reinforcements arriving for the defenders.
4) Gang getting involved in the scene
5) Other?

Bad news: Work is not slowing down and really doesn't look like it will months.
Good news: I got a nice bonus check the other day.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Normally the first of the year is slow but not this year. I would like to get a nice bonus check but I won't see one til April at the earliest and I don't know if it will be nice this year or not. We all got a nice one last year.

I wrote a post the other day, but it appears that I did not post it and yes, my post rate is WAY down.

I am so far behind on so many games. I feel like I am so far behind on life in general that I will never get caught up.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. It seems like when DS is running, life is in the way and when life isn't neither is DS. Oh well.

I understand that sentiment. My mom had a sign over her desk that read: "God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am so far behind that I will never die."

No worries though. Gaming is suppose to be fun. I won't stress if you won't.

I just feel these days that I bounce from one crisis to another. I don't know that there are more or that they are just more frequent, perhaps I am just losing tolerance the unending 'surge'.

I know what you mean. I don't mind working extra for a short pre-determined period of time - aka surge. The endless "surge" is simply not sustainable.

Business trip? I hope it was worth it. Too often I come back from those thinking, "That was a waste of time."

I don't think that you missed a post. You guys just didn't do much with the footage. I'll hold off posting IC until I know what you are thinking.

Actually this trip was very productive. I actually was able to ignore the production environment for most of one day and all day another, though I did get paged out Friday morning at 2am for a production issue. Even got to do a little site seeing Friday midday.

Plan is to track down or intercept the loan sharks. Attempt to broker a deal to get Bolo out of debt and convince them that she is not worth the effort to try and subjugate.

Yeah, some days are no worth mentioning. I got nailed on my performance review ... not for my actual performance but for my inability to play politics. I was pretty upset for a couple of days. In the end though, I learned a few things. Not to mention the internal transfer I applied for, I got.

Being a technologist, and one of the subject matter experts, I have to temper my desire to point out the stupidity sometimes. Luckily, I have several peers I text when I get the urge so I can maintain my business facade.

Yeah, I'm an engineer and nothing upsets me more than when management hits the SQ (Stupid Quotient) by Wednesday at noon. Nevertheless, I have to remind myself that office politics is part of my life now. At least with this transfer, I'll be back working in pure engineering with other engineers. Won't make the politics go away but at least they will be less. AND my performance can be measured more or less objectively.

I've had enough different jobs to realize every job is just a game. My motto is "Just tell me the rules and don't change them mid-game". Of course, that doesn't stop them from changing but if you look at it like a game, its a lot easier to take.

Things are going pretty well at home. How are you and yours?

Things are good. Just the normal angst that comes with raising kids.

Copy that. Mine are always into something. My oldest got himself banned from video games for a while because he was playing after my wife and I went to sleep every night. No wonder his teachers were saying he couldn't pay attention. Now the Wii has parental locks on it. Not foolproof, but better than nothing.

A clarification - did you mean "officers" or "thugs" in your IC post? I assumed thugs but I can edit if needed.

My oldest is changing her major again. She's started realizing the limited career opportunities on her current path. She is also coming to realize that her current beau is not long term compatible with her.

So far, I've just been seeking to connect the dots between (what is now) two officers and the thugs. If I understand this correctly, officer #1 is tied to the thugs loan sharking and extorting Bolo. Officer #2 lead the raid on the thugs loan sharking and extorting Bolo. Officer #1 and officer #2 are in the same unit. Correct so far?

Glad to hear that she has come to that realization on her own. One of my good friends in high school had to graduate and work for several years before she went back to school. (A Film History major just doesn't pay all that well - who knew?)

Sorry to hear about your home 'net. Mine has been moving at the speed of molasses but otherwise OK. Work; however, has been a bit nuts. Since I've gotten a transfer to a different location (and state) I have been catching all the odd-ball weird assignments. Oh, well. At least I am getting away from some of the childishness.
