I'm still in, perhaps Kagetenshi's laptop is still in the shop?
He needs a new Deckmeister.

I was just reading over the IC thread again... is there anything in particular you're all waiting for me for? At this point I'd normally post a bit more filler description of the area while waiting for player actions, but since I've been out of the loop for so long I thought I'd ask if I was missing anything first.

Kara was waiting for the team's arrival, while trying to get a feel for the crowd and a handle on how the hostage takers were defending the place.

Unless you've got some way to be seeing into the building (windows all tinted as is the fashion), you have no feel for the defenses. Crowd seems like normal gawkers.

I just got promoted at work (yay!), which means that I'm going to start becoming much busier and won't have as much time to game (boo!). Unfortunately, I'm going to have to drop from this game. Feel free to NPC my character until he/she can be removed cleanly or keep using them as an NPC as long as you like. I'm sorry to do this, but life calls...

How many floors is this building again? Also, Bearclaw, does Hans have his own close combat skill for use in astral combat, or does he use sorcery to substitute?

Just occured to me that they might have some way of using the awakened plant as an astral alarm. I move back to the fifth floor and assense it.
Intelligence: 1 1 2 3 4 5 Aura Reading: 1 1 2 3 4 4 Three successes.
I use my talismongering knowledge skill of 6 to identify the plant: 2 3 3 5 5 5

Alright, I descend to the third floor. Perception: 1 1 2 2 4 9 If the plant is dual-natured, does that mean it is astrally perceiving?

To the extent that plants perceive, yes.
~J
Panzergeist
May 26 2004, 03:21 PM
Okay, I'm fairly certain that the plant is just an expensive office decoration, and not a makeshift astral alarm system. Maybe I'll "confiscate" it after me subdue the hostage takers.
I count the people in the room, and how many of them are armed.

Other than looking to see if they have guns in their hands or visible holstered or slung over their shoulders, no.

Two of them have what seem to be either shotguns or assault rifles slung over their shoulders; there's another similar weapon leaning against the wall nearby. Other than that, you can't tell without further inspection.
