"How the hell did you get the whole belt of Assault Cannon Ammo in there? I mean, the guy's an ELF."

"How much will it cost for this operation never to have happened?"

"My bar bill. I'll be drinking heavily to forget I ever did this."

Given what people have managed to shove up their lower orifices, I wouldn't be too sure about that...who knows, maybe street docs also have an ass box for all the stuff runners "fell on" biggrin.gif

OK, the fixed angle between body and grip probably makes it difficult with normal firearms, but that's a problem for the engineers.

Since I'm the one who raised it in the first place I should have caught this earlier.

Yes. People do shove such up their lower orifices. They are not large firearms, but they are firearms. Often loaded.

A significant but unmentioned point is that they are NOT easily drawn and readied, much less available for quickdraw.

Come on, we all know that elves butts are well trained in accepting foreign bodies biggrin.gif

@Kirk: I don't think any amount of adept powers would convince me to let a player use quickdraw rules for that biggrin.gif

@Sengir -- what, don't you believe in magic? wink.gif

I'd say something... But I am the one that has a gay elf as a written character. He's very butch, but the hilarious part is that he's the one that often wakes up crying and has to be cuddled by his twink of a boyfriend.

Well... Hilarious in one way. Very sad in a lot of others.

Lunatic runner: "I want to be able to hide in my Ares Predator in my ass."
Street doc: "It's not possible, unless I give you another ass."
Lunatic runner: "Can you do it?"
Street doc: "As a matter of fact, I can. It's 5000 nuyen.gif for the procedure and 1000 nuyen.gif for two doses of Laés for me and my assistant so we can forget we ever performed such an operation."

I liked this. It added some extra flavor and weapons. My only criticism is that some info is AWOL. Like, whether a drone is flying or rolling (the renraku small drone in particular). I picked my copy up at Gencon and had it signed by an author so that is also added bonus.

For things you never get warned about, the Berretta bobcat .25, very accurate but lousy hitting power, tends to eject straight back, not to the side. usually they go over my head. occassionally bounce off the top and every once in a while, one odwn the front of my shirt. You don't want to know what it's like to get hot brass in the cleavage. It's painful and damn silly all at once.

Maybe not my "cleavage" but I had an 8mm Hakim semi auto that spewed brass in any direction. Fun to shoot, but after the umptenth time a just ejected shell casing went down my back of my shirt.....not fun. Well that and it weighed like 20lbs, didn't have much kick though.

I read somewhere that most inventions begin with Engineers watching Star Trek and saying "We can do that"

Actually, they've succeeded in teleportation on a very small scare. And I think I remember reading somewhere they figured out transparent aluminum.

  • The inventor of the cell phone has cited Star Trek as a direct inspiration.
  • The first home computer was named after a Star Trek planet.
  • I recall something about MRI also being inspired by Trek.
  • Same for floppy disks, and hand-held screens like the iPad.
  • And there is now transparent aluminum.
  • Probably more I do not recall at the moment.
