But seriously, the solution is simple. Don't buy, watch, or listen to any movies or music ever again. It's mostly all crap nowadays anyway. Send the MPAA a note telling them they're cut off since they're trying to destroy freedom of expression. If this REALLY bothers you, put your money where your mouth is. Imagine how hilarious it would be if people simply stopped watching movies over this shit.

It has ALWAYS been "mostly all crap". It's just that as time goes by, people remember movies from the old days which were quality, but forget the ones that were shitty.
Stahlseele
Also: you don't KNOW which ones are crap and which ones are good before hand . .
And hope dies last.

Don't forget about ACTA. As opposed to our friends SOPA and PIPA, this one is international, and there is much less awareness about it. Sneaky sneaky.

Its been getting a lot less coverage than sopa and pipa too, which is pretty scary.

I found this petition the other day, against acta. Some people here may be interested in it.

Didn't know about this crap... I signed up and signed the petition.

I'm not even going to get started.

I'm not. I'm just going to go to my corner and cry for the world.

Rather than crying brush up on your knowledge skills particularly chemistry.

I dropped out of chemistry class after my first day. Memorization and me don't mix. I'm not really going to be of any use in anything if this happens.

How about "No.", or, better yet, "Hell no."

Or at least give me my virgins first. nyahnyah.gif

Indeed... The Virgins would HAVE to come first, in my opinion, otherwise the deal is off... smile.gif

Forget that, I want some slutty chicks.
CanRay
Yeah, good point, if you're going to wear a bomb vest, who cares about STDs? nyahnyah.gif

OK, I think this is getting into the disturbing section of conversations, but, then again, it started that way.

Just because they like to have fun doesn't necessarily mean they have an STI. Besides, always wrap it before you tap it. Don't send your soldier in without a helmet. Etc, etc.

You are going to be blown to bits, it really does not matter anymore...

Anyhow, away from the "Hello Mr. CSIS/FBI, no, we're not being serious!" side of the conversation, ACTA not being regulated is the thing that really worries me.

If it was being put through the UN, well... We all know how much teeth they have.

I can't comment on it. International Copyright really does confuse the hell out of me (Not that I'm well versed in Canadian or US Copyright either.). This could be trying to shut down the Internet just like SOPA/PIPA were, or it could just be getting rid of the gray areas that have cropped up since the last arguments over International Copyright... I'll let the more legally minded people sort through the Legalese.

Japan apparently pushing it through does concern me, however. frown.gif

You would think by now that the CSIS/FBI/CIA/NSA/Mossad/MI6/Interpol etc etc have determined that users on this board are mostly harmless. alien.gif

We have brains and minds and questions and we aren't mindless consumers of product. We are the most dangerous ones out there.

The real issue with these laws is that they're selectively enforced. Everybody is breaking some stupid law, and because of that, we could all be ruined by the powers that be, whenever they please. SOPA and PIPA are just more of the same.

The new human is illegal.

Yeah, good point. If we were going to be an issue, we'd have been so by NOW.

Horrible disease to suffer from.

In some ways, yes. But we don't have drive or purpose.

Yet.

And the mindless who don't question things can be dangerous as well... Just ask the Vets that have had to deal with REAL bomb-vest wearing fanatics. Or the wastes of human flesh that'll nail a girl's feet to the center of a mine field and surround the area with armed soldiers in holes waiting for US/Canadian troops to try and rescue her, with the thinkers recording them driving by because they found out that's what they're doing and using THAT as propaganda.

I'll shut up now.
