There are so many parts of this game - RFIDs, sensors, biomonitors, most everything security-oriented - that, if taken to their logical conclusions, make crime almost completely impossible in the types and scales that shadowrun intends to portray. This was bad before SR4, but in SR4 it's been taken to a magical new level of hilarity. We just handwave 99 percent of it and get to the meat of the game, but I'd love to see someone sometime actually run SR4 with the taps opened all the way.
Yeah, I assume it is there--however I also take into account the "Car alarm"/"Data Overload" effect. That for the most part, LEO's have so much information to sift through that takes them time and resources to get to the bottom of a crime (and here the for profit model of 2070's law enforcement means that if it does impact the botttom line it will get a low priority). Also you run into the data balkanization. Sure there's cameras everywhere in an A zone, but the Stuffer shack is not sharing its video feed with KE or LS. It may be sharing it with Hard Corps if it has a securtiy contract with them. So the footage from those cams is a post op investigation. The drones overhead are not only watching the PC's they are also watching the hundreds of other people walking/driving on the street. That is why spoof chips work so easily. Finally there are some SOP that all runners probably use, and with new players I give them a break in regards to those things to make the game last more than 5 minutes.
