Because of the dynamic nature of the battlefield, and the variety of uses for small teams of operatives, you all will find yourselves in all types of scenarios, some of which may clearly not have need for a particular weapon type, while others may. Versatility is going to be incredibly useful, as well as a wide range of weaponry/equipment options.
Thanee
My character should be plenty versatile. smile.gif

Hmmmm. Suppressive fire may be useful but only if it fits ur char concept man, we can live without.

And make a decision after the first job as to what we may need, We cant think of or take everything on the first run

Khote's idea of suppressive fire is a cloud of electricity that even if it doesn't knock the targets out cold, it gives them a -2 dice pool modifier. smile.gif
Thanee
Chummer doesn't have my Mentor Spirit. It's missing in the list. indifferent.gif

It looks like there is nothing from Street Magic in there...

Ah, ok, I got it... you have to add the sourcebooks first. biggrin.gif

Looks pretty good Thanee. Only question is about the Barett. Isn't that availability 18?

I'd guess that's what the "Positive Quality - Restricted Gear" was to get .. only my guess though

Yeah, I have three items with higher Availability (the Armor, the Barrett, and the Focus). Hence Restricted Gear (Level 3).

I will probably spend a good amount of the Karma on quickening some of the attribute-increasing spells (had to drop the Bioware, that I wanted, as I couldn't afford all that).

The remaining Nuyen are for the rest of the equipment (some normal weapons and armor, and some other stuff).

Oh, and I would like to apply the "weapon modification" Chameleon Coating to my carrying bags (rifle bag and backpack), if that's ok. smile.gif

a signing bonus of 5,000 nuyen. You can buy anything you like with it up to 14 Availability

unless you have plans to spend this on other gear, you can save yourself some Karma on the restricted gear and buy something after creation.

dunno if that helps ?

Just sent Dak the final version of my guy. I'm always surprised anew how quickly ammo adds up to real money. wink.gif

No. smile.gif

The stuff is a weee bit more expensive (the Barrett being the "cheapest" with about 10k, the rest is closer to 40-50k each) and also higher in AV than 14.

Dayamn, Nova is one expensive lady ! smile.gif

I tried loading her piccy on my mobile and it was loading like an old 56k modem one line at a time,

I thought it had stalled at one point and was hella disappointed ... until I got home and loaded it to find out it was only a "to the Shoulders" pic anyways smile.gif

Don't worry, I think my imagination can fill in some blanks though.

can't wait to get started on this,

One thing I did spot is I need to redo my gear and put the modifications and plugins in the right kit (commlink, weapon mods, goggles and ear buds etc.)

job for me tonite smile.gif
Thanee
Should be pretty much done now. :)

[ Spoiler ]

Chummer lists 20 Karma left (the bonus Karma, I created the character with 770; I spent 365 total on Attributes) and -2,965¥ left (the +5,000¥ not added in, yet).

The ¥ also isn't entirely correct, since I have spent 1,550¥ more than is listed in Chummer (added to Notes at three places, Lifestyle, Underbarrel Weight for Pistol, and Encryption Software, since Chummer does not seem to have the appropriate options; leaving some ¥ to add to the starting resources (+1,200¥), Underbarrel Weight as Weapon Accessory (+50¥ over the Weapon Modification I added instead), and the Optimization 3 Program Option (300¥)).

2,965¥ + 1,550¥ = 4,515¥ spent from the 5,000¥ we receive extra.

That leaves me with starting resources of 4d6+12=31 x 500¥ = 15,500¥ plus 485¥ = 15,985¥ and 20 Karma.

I also need to pay something for the Ruthenium coating of the rifle bag (assuming this one comes with the weapon, as there is no such thing in the equipment list) and backpack... the Weapon Modification is 1,000¥, should I pay this much, too (so 2,000¥ for both together, or something else)? Let me know and I will just deduct it from the starting resources, then.

-2,000¥ for the Chameleon Coating on Rifle Bag and Backpack.

Starting Resources: 13,985¥

Bonus Karma:
-2 Specialization: Longarms (Sniper Rifles)
-2 Specialization: Pistols (Heavy Pistols)
-2 Specialization: Assensing (Aura Reading)
-2 Specialization: Perception (Visual)

Good Karma: 12

Assending Khote -> 4 hits

Is it ok, if I use invisiblecastle for the rolls? So used to it. smile.gif

Bye

Dak
I have not used invisiblecastle before, but I'm willing to try.

Here's a campaign page, I think.

http://invisiblecastle.com/campaign/view/31077/

From this point on all dice rolls must be made in the campaign room with your character or forum name, and a note indicating what the roll is for. Any mistakes (did not roll enough dice, rolled too many dice) will require a reroll.

Tatjana would be able to see Khote as a brilliant magical aura. With that many hits, she'd know he has a total Magic rating of 6 with a mix of spellcasting and adept powers. On his person there are 3 points of focus in the form of a necklace that is hidden beneath his clothing, a bracelet on his left wrist, and a ring on his right hand. The necklace appears to be actively boosting his natural counter-spelling aura as well as boosting his magical power by 1 point. The bracelet is dormant now but appears to aid him in Manipulation magic. And the ring similarly aids him in Health magic.

Anything else you were wanting to see about him?

edit: Oh and as Khote gets comfortable with her, she can see the aura of counterspelling extend out to surround her. Like Khote said, he is guided to protect. As he gets familiar with each of the team he will begin to cover them with his protection as well.

It's really easy to use, I think, and has all you need.

Syntax for SR4 dicerolls is either:

#d6.hits(5) (# being the number of dice, i.e. 6d6.hits(5))

or

#d6.hitsopen(5,6) (which is using the Rule of Six, when spending Edge before the roll)

Hammerson's chum file updated.

QUOTE (Dak @ Feb 13 2013, 05:18 PM) *

Have taken a quick glance at the other sheets now.

Sgt. Hammer:
That Armor requires the Restricted Gear quality (AV 16).
The Battle Rifle (AV 16) as well.
The SMGs (AV 16) also. And you do not have the correct ammo for those, anyways. They require high-power rounds (which also require Restricted Gear).

Comms: (is this phlapjack's char?)
Total of 405 Karma spent in Attributes, only 375 allowed (no clue why this was even possible... did Chummer not protest?)

Khote:
Intuition 1? Wow! That's not much. Not an error, just noteworthy, esp. since it is not exactly unimportant (Initiative, Perception, etc).
And I must have missed so far, that Khote is an elf. Thought he was human.
You could still add a PPP Leg and Arm Casing or Vitals Protector (for +1/+1 armor).

Brian:
Looks good! smile.gif
Likewise, some of the PPP stuff is quite nice, i.e. Forearm Guards and Shin Guards (for +0/+2).

Yep it's intentional. He's just plain unintuitive and relies on his tools and instincts heavily. Keep in mind that combat sense helps him in any sort of surprise situation.
Mach_Ten
Cheers thanee.. the armor and guns are purchased post generation with excess cash and first wage. I'll get back on it and amend the ammo though.. bought that first before modding the guns

Will do it tonite after work.

Might just abandon the mil spec armor and layer in PPP with the form fit.

Not played before. How does that stack?
Dakka Fiend
IIRC PPP stacks with everything and counts fully for encumbrance.

So full FFBA (6/4) + full PPP (2/6)
should give 8/10 armor but encumber for 5/8.

Which means you really want to find some piece of 5/2 gear so you get 13/12 for 10/10.
Thanee

You cannot keep any resources from character generation. At most, you can add some bonus to your starting resources (up to 3x the number of dice you roll; for each +1 to that roll you have to spend 100¥ during character generation; any resources left over after that are simply wasted).

QUOTE

Works just like a helmet. You add it to your total armor. The nice thing is, that it is multiple seperate pieces, making it quite variable, and you can add some Impact Armor without raising Ballistic Armor (which hits the limit quite easily).

so throwing a long coat on the top would be acceptable ?
Thanee
I would use it the other way around, start with the base armor, then add stuff to it.

For example:

Armor Vest 6/4

FFBA Full Body +6/+2 (counts as +3/+1 for encumbrance)

At this point you are at 9/5 for encumbrance purposes.

Adding PPP:

Leg and Arm Casings +1/+1
Forearm Guards +0/+1
Shin Guards +0/+1
Helmet +0/+2

Result: 13/11 (or 13/9 w/o the helmet) with encumbrance 10/10 - perfect fit for Body 5

Well....

If anyone wishes to SELL any equipment purchased in chargen, and use that nuyen to buy higher availability gear during "training", you can sell gear for 1/2 its purchase price. Bear with me - this may seem odd to you ("Why can't I just save all that cash and buy the higher avail stuff??"), it is intended to simulate that you have access to more weaponry once you are part of the PMC.

Guess you could buy a sports car in chargen and trade it in for guns in boot camp.

yeah but I want to avoid wasting the Karma I used to get cash ... I'm on a tight budget, some skills may need "tweaking" to get the Restricted gear PQ's

I'll play around on Chummer again tonight though, I had fun for a couple hours last night and saved a backup (pre-career) so I don't have to start from scratch

once complete in the char details there's a tick box .. you then hit "SAVE" and it converts you and says

CHUMMER CAREER MODE
you have bought all this gear that's above 12F .. you muppet, go back and fix it.

In the "Character Info" tab, select "Mark Character as Created" and save.
And yes, saving a backup just before doing that is highly recommended.
