An idea for randomly determining initial reactions of NPCs to PCs.
The social reaction check is simple. roll 2d6 and add the rolls together.
If the number is 4 or more below the PC's social limit then the initial impression is Very Good.
If the number is below the PC's social limit the initial reaction is Good.
If the number is between Social Limit and Social Limit + 3 then the initial reaction is average.
If the number is greater than social limit + 3 the reaction is bad.
If the number is greater than social limit + 6 then the reaction is very bad.
If a double is rolled, the PC rolls their edge dice. No hits reduces the reaction by 1 step. 1 hit means no effect. 2+ hits improves reaction by one step. A glitch means that 1 hit is ignored. A critical glitch means that the reaction is automatically reduced to Very Bad.
Bonuses from social factors, correct etiquette and positive qualities such as first impression modify the PC's social limit for this test on a 1 dice to 1 limit ratio.
