Well personally, I wouldn't be going around in a bathrobe unless I was getting ready for bed. But that could just be me and everyone I know. |
Well, most people I know tend to don a bathrobe after taking a bath or a shower.
Considering that the meet with Caitlin hasn't happened yet, I would hazard a guess that it is, at the latest, around 8:30 in the evening.

With the remainder of my actions during the combat round I will drag the man outside the blast radius of car bomb. With my strength that shouldn't be a problem.
Then I will grab the dart out of his neck and dash off into the night as per my original IC post.
If that is ok, tell me so I can post it IC again. If any tests are needed do you want me to reroll, instead of using what I originally posted?

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that.
No big deal about bathrobe thing, just one of those things that are seen differently by different players/gms. By the way, most of my family is actually asleep by 8pm every night (yes...i agree that is sad, but it is also true).

unfortunately, that is quite difficult for me. I have a terrible memory. Hopefully, it won't cause a problem in game though.

Once I am able to throw off any pursuit I will make my way back to my car and head to Hellfire. I'll save posting IC until you tell me I did succeed.
Edit: lol, you must have posted that part about the teenagers while i was typing up my IC post. Didn't even notice it until it was too late. Doesn't matter though I would have done the same thing. Keep in mind while there is any pursuit I am not going for my car.

Somewhere in the house that you had left behind, your ex-landlady's voice reverberates out into the night.
"Mark? What's going on, Mark?"
A minute later:
"OH MY GOD!" |
Actually shouldn't there be an explosion before the minute where I hear "OH MY GOD!"
Or did I miss you something and didn't actually set the 30 second timer?

The explosion was implied to have occurred in between the landlady's two lines.
Let me know if you're going to try to shake off the kids or what.

Yeah, I am having problems with dumpshock eating posts too, that was why i accidentally double-posted.
I will try to shake off the teenagers pursuit of me. What kind of roll do you want me to make for it? I would have thought it was covered when I posted OOC the stealth, athletics, and perception rolls (both the ones i edited out of my IC post and a new set).

That depends on what you want to do. Do you want to scare them off, outrun them, knock them out, or something else?
Slacker
May 19 2005, 03:17 AM
First I will try to out run them.
If that didn't work I would try to destract them somehow and quickly hide while they glance away.
Failing that I would try to scare them away with a fake attack.
If all else fails I will shoot one to try to scare the others off.
Tell me what I need to roll if other rolls are needed. Or you can just roll for me. I am about to be shutting down my computer for the night, so probably won't post any more 'till the morning.

So what's the plan now that we are all together? Do you need more time for legwork? Or will we going down into the Underground after this meet? Or what?
Slacker is ready for whatever. Besides his contacts not likeing having any info on down there, he doesn't have anyway to reach them after his home got torched.

May 20 2005, 05:11 PM
Winchy is ready to go. He'd let you guys know what he's got from his contact in the meet, but I guess all the characters share their info so we could skip that. I think we don't need to actually repeat what happened in posts where other players' characters weren't present, right?
Basically I'd skip to discussing our plan and talk about that in IC. Glyph should probably speak first IMO, and maybe tie all the info quickly in the post... or maybe scoundrel could do that for us

Scoundrel, I took it that since you were only posting in response to Caitlin's actions that nothing was happening to the rest of us. So I just posted what Slacker will be doing in the morning leading up to the group meeting at the entrance to the Underground.
Just tell me if those actions were interrupted by something else and I will edit as needed.

Hehe. Kind of guessed that was what the kid was doing. Slacker is going to try to keep a close eye out for any other such activities. He's already lost his apartment this week. He doesn't want to lose anything else. So please consider that Stealth (Alertness) is a Complimentary skill for Perception in such Opposed tests the rest of the time we are down here (I am assuming that you are making the rolls secretly for things like that).

Ok, I did mention pretty much everything in IC, but I'll give you a complete list here for reference's sake.
Winchy's underground stuff:
on himself:
- Ordinary clothing (jeans and t-shirt)
- Secure Jacket
- 5 throwing knives
- 1 defensive grenade
- 500 nuyen
in his backpack:
- AK-97 with gas vent equipped, 4 spare clips, security on
- Pole arm ending in a battle ax, unscrewed into two parts
- a folded secure long coat
- 2 respirators
- food for one day
- extra underwear (!!!)

For Caitlin:
Gear -
Armor/Clothing: Secure Jacket, Ordinary Clothing.
In Duffel Bag: Medkit (Rating: 6) with spare Supplies, 1 Antidote Slap Patch (Rating: 6), Cell Phone, Pager, Wire Clippers, Pocket Flashlight, Survival Kit, Ration Bars (several days' worth), packet of sani-wipes, a few other basic toiletries, and spare underwear (1 set).
She's close to her encumbrance limit (some of the items don't have a weight, so I can't be sure), so let me know if she's a bit over - she would have checked to be sure she could carry it all without getting fatigued, and dropped something if she needed to.
*EDIT* She would also have the underground pass, a copy of the contact information, and a three certified credsticks - one with about a hundred Nuyen on it, and two very well-hidden ones; one with the rest of her starting money, and one with 3,000 Nuyen from the advance for the job.

Winchy can easily take a lot of extra weight if someone wants to bring more stuff...
Slacker
Jun 1 2005, 03:59 AM
Slacker is carrying most everything he has except the explosives. Here is the exact list of equipment:
[ Spoiler ]
Two AZ-150 Stun Batons
Shock Gloves
Dart pistol with Concealable Holster
10 full clips of darts
H&K 227
5 full clips of gel rounds
One Concussion Grenade
Two Flash-Paks
One Gas Grenade
One Smoke Grenade (IR)
Secure Clothing - Currently Wearing
Secure Long Coat - Currently Wearing
Form-Fitting Body Suit - Currently Wearing
Secure Ultra-Vest - in bag
Medkit (Rating 6)
Basic Pocket Secretary
Wrist Phone
Four Respirators (though I'll ask Winchy to carry the extra two I bought)
And a whopping 30 days worth of ration bars Winchy can carry some of those too if he wants (only 1kg per 10 days worth).
All together, that puts me at about 1kg below encumbrance, even without giving some excess stuff to Winchy to carry. Being a slacker, he still doesn't want to carry it all.

I'm thinking about mixing up the ol' gamemastering style a little. Up until this point, I haven't really incorporated your characters into my writing very much, and gave you almost complete control over their activities. What I'm curious to know is whether or not you guys want me to use your characters during those times when I fast forward the game to the next scene.
For example, right now, if your team decides to go to a gun shop, I might describe the trip there, anything you saw or heard, and any people you met on the way. If I go down this new road, I might toss in some banter between your characters, make them interact with NPCs, and just have them do stuff in general. All decision making would still be left entirely up to you - I would just use your characters for flavor.
What do you guys think? Yea/nay? I don't have a preference either way, so just let me know what you think would be more fun. I'm still new to this whole play-by-post thingamajig, and I'm just bouncing around ideas to see if something that works pops out.

Jun 11 2005, 05:47 AM
The GM did some of that in the Cage Fight game that I was in, and it seemed to work out pretty well. I don't think it would really be stepping on anyone's toes to toss in a bit of banter or other characterization for flavor. For example, you could describe something like Slacker dropping back a ways while they are walking in the tunnels, because Caitlin and Warden are having a grisly conversation about the various cave-in type accidents/injuries that they have seen. Stuff like that. I can't speak for the others, but it would be fine with me.

I agree, it would be fine by me too.

gobogen
Jun 20 2005, 01:06 PM
If by slowing down you mean that we have seen no sign of life from our GM then yes.
It's too bad cause what he suggested for flavor seemed like a good idea and I was starting to like our bunch. I hope this is not dead forever.
Glyph
Jun 21 2005, 06:08 AM
I wouldn't worry too much - it's probably just a case of real life getting hectic for a while for the GM, and it should get back to normal later.
