Only thing i see that may be a problem as is with the official sheet the spirit table and the power table are also for deckers. Sprites and complex forms. But I'm not sure how much that would play in? Just a thought as i was looking at it just now that jumped out at me.

Are those things for regular deckers (hackers) though? My guess is they will be technomancer only, and they are more or less awakened as far as I can tell.

Some would say attractive. Others would say gorgeous. cool.gif Most would settle for something undiscerning like curly or thin however. smile.gif Good thing I can make character sheets to get me attention.
Dashifen
Whatever he makes I'll host smile.gif thanks for the nod in post #1, mintcar. For a page of downloads that -- currently -- only includes mincar's sheets you can also see my downloads page. Don't go anywhere else on the site, though. It's not done (only started it today to host his files, afterall)
mintcar
I do have a few inventions for SR3, but I´m not sure how interesting they are today. Most notably a few panels glued to cardboard with dials that show you´re current pools, speed, ammo, manuever score and things like that. It remains to be seen if something will be needed for SR4. Atm I´m hoping these sheets will be enough for a long time. I want to focus on my campain instead of props.

<<<edit>>> Very nice looking site! I´m impressed. Seing that page made me more inspired to contribute. Will you take character sketches?

Yeah. Like I said in another thread, Rob said at Origins that Technomancers "summon" sprites (including, I think, in Augmented Reality, which is just creepy), and I imagine Registering them is going to be the same process as "Binding" for spirits, which we already have an idea of how that works (Bound/Unbound, like the table says).

I wonder if Technomancers need two skills like Mages will, or if there is a Technomancer Skill Group or a Computer Skill Group, or neither, or both.
mintcar
Just bumping this up because there seems to be a lot of activity today. Hope you excuse this act of self promotion. There was some complaints on the official sheet, so maybe it will be appreciated.

Well it kinda makes since that everything is much closer since we are suppse to be geting one rule set instead of the six different rule sets SR3 had.

Although I would try to argue that simplfying the rules doesn't make everyone equal (IE Technomancers are not magic because they are similar to mages on an out of game level)

It would be very disapointing if technomancers where magical, and not people with bizzare brain wiring.
mintcar
Bumb. Because a lot of us less fortunate people finaly have the possibility to create our first characters. Some of you may be like me and rather do it on a record sheet that sucks a bit less than the one in the book. Have fun!
Elve
you sould update the links to dashifens site... they changed...
Dashifen
Yes, they did, but the link above to my downloads page now works. Sorry to muck up the first post, but mintcar will fix it asap, I'm sure.
Superbum
Someone could make this thread a sticky....
Might save us the trouble of seeing the post get bumped over and over again.

(and yes we all know these sheets are wayyyy better than the ones in the book)
mintcar
I fixed the links now. (and I wont bump the thread again myself. Just thought it might be a good idea now that the game was released. I made them for this event after all. Even hurried a lot to be done on time... but lets forget about that part wink.gif )
Toshiaki
Excellent character sheets! Thanks for making these for the community.

P.S.
Of couse, everybody else can still bump the thread.
mintcar
Off course. As long as it´s not an irritant to people, I´d love to see it up here. smile.gif
blakkie
*bump*

Because i needed to find it. DM sick for Black Company game tonight. Rushing to put together SR4 run and PCs to play in it. Later everyone.

Mintcar, maybe add the link to your sig?
mintcar
Good idea
Superbum
As a GM I already mentioned that just from looking at the sheets you did I can tell I liked them.

I ran my first run of SR4 last night and my players favored your sheets over the one in the book. Just wanted to say, Good job.
Dashifen
I didn't even hand out the "official" sheets, just these wink.gif
Superbum
Hell, my only complaint about the book are the crappy character sheets.
okuth0r
I dont have a gorup to play but have one made on these sheets (ok and 3 sheets of notes). Great job and thanks.

I just wanted to point out (not gripeing) that there is no specific place for languages. I put under skills, left colum on bottom but spent a while going "where do the languages go?" searching.

thanks a lot for teh sheets.
blakkie
I put my knowledge skills and languages in the righthand column.

I am finding that my SR4 characters are starting out with more skills, or skill groups. So those sheets seem to fill up quicker. I found that in making a couple characters that the room on those sheets were just enough during chargen, and that included Skill Groups that might eventually get broken up to be written on separate lines.

P.S. I think this has to do with skills of 1 or 2 meaning a lot more. In SR3 there was absolutely no sense in having a skill 1, but in SR4 a skill 1, especially in a knowledge skill, is a beautiful thing. Plus the forcing of the skills to flatten out some during chargen because you are limited to (4) on all but one or two skills.
mintcar
embarrassed.gif Thanks guys. I´m going to wait until we´ve played some ourselves, but then I will make some changes. There should propably be more room for skills, I´ve noticed that also. I may make a sheet for full magicans, because the awakened sheet only really works for technomancers/adepts/mystic adepts. Drain is missing from the spell section, I think it does on the official sheet too. One other thing that I´ve thought about is some kind of form for commonly used dice pools (may be redundant after some practice). The "gear/notes" section is obviously too small, but that´s just because you have to get a separate sheet for that anyway, no way you could fit it in on a two-page sheet.
blakkie
It might be cool if there was a third small column in the implants for capacity to keep track of room in eyes, limbs, DJ, etc.
mintcar
Keep 'em coming. I couldn´t make many adjustments of that kind when I made these, because I didn´t have the game smile.gif . Shadowrun´s official sheets have always been short on columns. With earlier editions it may have been because there were many versions of the rules for say, vehicle combat sarcastic.gif . But the truth is that to this day I´ve not seen a fully functional character sheet for Shadowrun.
Dashifen
Actually, I'm a big fan of the character dossier for SR3, but that's not really a sheet. More like a character booklet biggrin.gif
Vector
I remember reading somewhere that someone had modified these very nice sheets with editable forms?

Any chance those are available?
Dashifen
Slacker did, but only for the mundane and they weren't really finished yet. Hang in there and we'll get them for you wink.gif
Slacker
Yeah, I just threw in some textboxes using Acrobat Professional on the Mundane character sheet so I could submit it for my character in Dashifen's game.

Unfortunately, Acrobat Professional can't make a pdf editable in Reader. So currently you can only edit/save it using the full Acrobat program. However, you can edit/print it using Reader.

I have the software to make it editable in Reader, but I haven't used it before and it keeps crashing on me. I am going to try to figure it out this weekend. If/when I figure it out, I'll also take care of the Awakened version and get it setup somewhere for people to download.
Dashifen
When you get them, just email them to me, Slacker. I'll put them up either instead of or next to mintcar's original sheets.
mintcar
Cool
Vector
That would be awesome! Thanks, Slacker and Dashifen. smile.gif

*Bump*

Just checking to see how it's going. What program can you use to make PDFs editable in Reader, btw?
tirsales
To make them editable: You would need Acrobat
To make them "saveable": Adobe Document Server (which is multiple 10k) (in addition to Acrobat)
I am actually working on a little Perl-Skript to edit those charsheets. Anyone interested (as soon as I am ready of course)?
(Yes, one can compile it. And yes it is crossplattform. And yes, all needed libs are OpenSource)

I will be adding some kind of Edit-GUI lateron (you edit you char, click on "Create PDF" and there you are)
Vector
Sounds interesting. I assume for Windows you would need something like ActivePerl? (I really wish I could truly justify using Linux 24x7....)

EDIT: I'd be willing to help test it.
Nikoli
that doesn't quite sound right.

I made a sheet a while back when I had the acrobatdemo, and it could be read and edited and saved in reader no problem.
tirsales
@Vector: Yes, you would need ActivePerl and some additional Librarys (e.g. PDF::Reuse, Spredsheet:Excel to read the Chargen-Sheet) - all are available via CPAN and should be available on the ActivePerl-Repositorys.
I will publish a first version (just filling in those forms - no reading or saving of data (you would need to update the script) shortly.
EDIT: Sorry, will be a little bit of a delay - I am changing the library to PDF::Reuse (available via ActivePerl) insted of PDF::API2 (not available for Windows)

@Nikoli: Are you sure you could save it with the Reader? You can always save a pdf with "Adobe Acrobat" but to my knowledge not with "Adobe Reader". I did some cheats for SR3 - and they could be filled in and printed - but not saved - with the reader, but could be saved with Acrobat.

tirsales is correct that the only way to make an acrobat file that is both editable and saveable in Reader is to Adobe Document Server (or Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions which is the newest version software that allows this). Using just Acrobat Professional you can

It has been that way since at least Acrobat 4.0, I've never used earlier versions so I couldn't say what it was like before that, but I don't think it was any different for earlier versions.

Sorry, I've been busy with work, so I haven't had time to work on this recently, I'll try to make some time this weekend to refine the form for the mundane character sheet and actually getting around to adding the textboxes to the awakened character sheet.
Vector
Slacker, thanks for even being willing to do it. I'm just thrilled at the possibility of being able to fill in and save a character on a PDF sheet. smile.gif

I really hope/wish that Fanpro releases a good editable and savable PDF of the character record sheet updated for SR4. smile.gif
Slacker
Unfortunately, it turns out that the copy of the Document Server software I have it is bugged and will not operate.
So I won't be able to make them editable/saveable in Reader. Sorry for getting people's hopes up about that. You'll be edit and print in Reader, just not save.

As far as FanPro coming out with an editable/saveable character sheet, there is a company that can make forms saveable in Reader. I have no clue how much they would charge FanPro, but I believe prices start at $500 and go up into the thousands. So even if they didn't have to money to invest in the actual program to handle it, they could maybe afford to have that company take care of it.
tirsales
I don't want to search - so if anybody could post a link to an editable charsheet ... I could repost a saveable sheet.
Slacker
tirsales, I guess I will send you a copy of both as soon as I get them finished. That would be great if you could make them saveable in Reader.
Vector
You guys are great! smile.gif

Thanks, we know. wink.gif
tirsales
I have uploaded both the official and mintcars sheets with forms (saveable) to http://tirsales.de/sheets/
I DONT want to steal somebody the show or something - so please nobody feal pissed by this. Just to add a download location smile.gif
If there are "official" download sites for those sheets - just tell me and I will update my site smile.gif

I have two saveable PDFs waiting for someone to upload them ..
Oh, by the way, there is Software like "pdf-FormServer" (around 35,- Euro) or PDF-Fill (19 $) available, which in fact let's you save PDFs (FDF to be correct - kind of a link to the original pdf and the formdata).
