Hoi, chummers!

After 8 months of Real Life™ kicking my hoop (read: career changes, marriage, & financial trouble), I'm back and ready to make some more art.

The rules are same in Art Attack v2.0. Post a description of your character in at least three sentences. The more detail the better. Sketches are "first come, first serve" and should appear on a nightly basis, Monday thru Friday. Anyone else that wants to jump in and post sketches are more than welcome.

My character is an Ork-Streetsamurai. He is about 35 years old and 210cm large. Looks aged already. Lots of bioware-muscles. Mirrored cybereyes. His head ist completey shaven. His face is ab bit more attractive than the average ork's. Relatively small visible teeth. His prefered clothing consists of an armoured jacket, a shirt with some orxploitation imagery, BDUs and combat boots or sneakers. His main armament is an Ares Alpha. He is a heavy drinker and smoker. Enough info?

EDIT: Oh yes, his streetname is BBO, which stands for "Big Bad Ork". And he lives up to his name. He is a SR4 character.

I was right... I should have known that.

My character, Fitz, was a smart kid born to two dumb, BTL abusing parents. It didn't take a genious to realize he had to get out of his house. No one made him go to school, so he took to doing maintenance on gangers bikes.

He needs his glasses to see, although sometimes he opts for cerrective goggles. He resides permanently with one chop shop gang and is their resident rigger. He oversees their destruction/reconstruction. They sprung for his (obvious) cyber left arm, which he uses to keep tools and his remote control deck.

He had bouts of insomnia and often time works on vehicles for days straight. He looks mildly unkempt and only cut his hair if it gets caught in the gears of something (which is rather often.) If he washed his hands, the oil would not come out. He likes it that way.

If the police ever needed finger prints, they're streaked up and down his clothes where he's opted to use them in lieu of a shop towel. Loose clothing can get sucked into gears and/or tools, so he ties his pants legs off at the ankles with bandanas.

The only thing he cleans are his glasses.

Katklaw is an orc street samurai, though you wouldn't guess the former by looking at him. He's rather thin (for an orc), and has had extensive cosmetic surgery done so that his facial features are distinctly feline, and he actually has a muzzle, with feline dental work (and no orcish tusks). His cybereyes and cyberears are also modified to be catlike. He doesn't have any whiskers, though, because they interfere with wearing a helmet. His hair is currently worn very short, because he had to be shaven bald in order to have the dermal sheathing he had installed recently installed. It's died with orange and black stripes, in a tiger-like fashion, as is his facial hair, which is about the same length. He wears a camofluaged trenchcoat over a white t-shirt, and a pair of jeans (ripped off at knee-length) are held up by a synthleather belt. The most obvious cyberware he has includes a set of Kid Stealth legs and a balance tail (the dermal sheathing shouldn't be too obvious). He has a set of hand razors in his right hand, but they're retractable. He currently owns a Steyr AUG-CSL weapon system for his gun.

Small tusks! That was what I meant when I said "small visible teeth". Bad English. Sorry. o_O

They did. It is called SURGE. 90% of all surgelings do look like mixtures of cats and elves...at least here in Germany.

Gregori is a human Russian, of medium build (approximately 5'10 5'11, 160-175 lbs), with brown hair shaved very close to his scalp. He is a low-level vory thug, and Wolf Shamanist. His body features tattoos on his bicep and chest. (cross on chest, wolf's head on bicep). He wears a armored vest covered in fetishes, underneath a thigh length leather jacket, and khaki work pants. He wears a necklace of wolves teeth around his neck (a focus), and carries a ares predator.

I know I asked the question about the camo pants but, after reading the description again, the clothing didn't seem as important as how he looked. So, I decided on a medium shot to focus more on his head as opposed to the style of clothing he wears.

Absolutely.

Hopefully this time, I'll be quick enough to get in on the action... This is Blake, my street sam:

Blake's a stocky but fit caucasian male dwarf, very tall for his metatype (almost 4'10"), with short cropped brown hair and beard, solid gunmetal cybereyes, and light dermal sheathing. (his face is mostly free of it, and what little there is has been applied expertly and doesn't distort his features) He's fair looking, and appears to be in his early 30's. He's quick to smile and often munches on a bag of pretzels or jerky, and switches between looking sharp and alert (when dealing with people he knows or prospective employers) and slow moving, laid-back and a bit naive when faced with potential opposition. (which has been a very effective way of getting enemies to consistently underestimate him - until the "little dwarf rigger" suddenly plants a shock glove in their kidney)

He usually dresses in a military-surplus looking secure jacket over a couple of t-shirts (black, gray or navy, with no designs), heavy-duty cargo pants or baggy jeans (baggy, not ones with the waist around his knees, thank you:)) and strong leather work or combat boots. (all a bit worn and comfortable looking, but very clean) He's usually accompanied by a palm-sized arachnid drone riding on his shoulder or peeking out of one of the jacket pockets.

Most of the time, he carries a Predator III in a concealed holster and wears shock gloves, but many runs find him dressed in full-body camo over FFBA, with a tactical vest on, toting a heavily modified AK-98.

Okay, here's one. I'll even provide some 'concept' pictures.

Skate, my (infamous) decker who moonlights as a sammie. Asian girl, 21 years old, small chest, carrying an Ares Predator. Wears a very complicated piece of clothing known as a Widow's Dress:

The Widow's Dress is a one-piece outfit of raverware. It's a cross between a coat and a long ballroom gown, in leather. Semihigh collar, the 'shirtails' of it should be brushing along the ground, or almost to it.

Here. These screenies may help. They were taken from The Matrix Online beta-test. I'm sure if the NDA I 'signed' by pre-ordering my way into the beta test still applies. I don't give a rat's ass.

Skate also wears a brown indiana jones fedora, but you can leave in or out the headset as you like.

Not really related, this is Skate demonstrating that Neo may be God, but he ain't smart. You can outwit an Agent just by climbing up a pipe.

I'll pick... Monkey Man aka jerry

right at 2 M tall. he is a PhyAdept struck Hard by the surge. a Master of the monkey and tiger style Kung-Fu. Gravity ment little to him before, now it means less.
The surge made it hard for him to blend into public with his thick full body fur, and tail. The prehensile tail and retractible claws, that sweat with bitter alikloids, make him a killer at close range.
With a up-beet personality, humor gets him through the average day. Tho he is anything from goofy. Years of disiplin and recent tormuld give him a very grounded view of the world.

Prefering to rely on his magics and training he takes little with him; a small pack to hold what he needs for a day, and not much more armor than he fills is minimal.

Leela

Human, about 5' tall. petite frame looks (and acts) a lot younger than her age of 19 (about 12 - 13), eastern European, long red hair with white streak on left side of face, blue eyes (if colour is available),. Does not smoke, but loves Scrumpy (a very hard form of British apple cider which.. "they serve in pints").

2 possible styles

After retirement as a runner: dresses in sexy tres chic as she is the adopted daughter of a British noble and gaining reputation as a concert performer (piano). Hair worn long and loose.

When she was running: British Neo-Mod with armoured "bomber" styled jacket. Weapon of choice - Gyrojet. Also a masterful demolitionist so she might have a few cakes of C-12 & some radio detonators ()which she sets off using her transceiver patched into her transducer implant). Hair worn slightly shorter & frizzed out (no spikes or Mowhawk etc) Also likes to rollerblade.

Ooooh, hey Fitz looks cool. He reminds me of a picture from the Liber Mechanika, of another guy with a cyber-arm fiddling with it with a screwdriver.

Dude, that's fucking awesome.

Prowler - He's an Ork of Aztlantian heretage living in the barrens, where he tries to take care of his sick mother through Shadowrun. He is an Physical Adept with Elemental Strike: Lightning and Wallrunning just to name a few. He has been using his abilities to patrol his hood as a vigilante, beating up rapist and chipdealers, even been in a former gang, where he turned them into protectors, instead of oppressors but after he left the gang turned back to it's old ways. He also has a thing for Matrix Graphics, always wanting to be a programmer, but his designs always has flaws when it comes to it end and he gets sick when he uses Sim-Sense to check on it in the Matrix. That doesnt stop him from trying though and he often buys magazine on the subject and spends hours infront of the computer when able.

Prowler is a charismatic ork. Hair just nigh of his shoulders in length and pushed back from his face. Wears some worn urban combat fatigues, usually has some really oldfassion pilotgoggles places to rest on his forehead and a pice of cloth around his neck (urban fatigue) which he uses to cover his face when he is hunting for the guilty. When using a firearm it is a Colt Manhunter

Greycloud.

He's an Elf Thunderbird shaman, with some Native-American (specifically, Sioux) heritage. He's young (early 20's, though don't all elves look that old?), and he's got long dark hair that he wears in dreadlocks, and light-blue eyes that contrast with his otherwise native american looks. He wears a metallic feather (a power focus). He was born to rich parents, so lived the "easy" life, until three years ago -- and he's spent the time since then in the jungles of Amazonia. He's just returned to Seattle, and because of some events in Amazonia, he now pretty much never takes off his black, duster-length armored jacket (complete with shock frills) or his (also black) leather biker boots. The jacket was quite expensive and stylish new, but it's been through a lot of abuse (though most of that has been repaired, it probably still shows) He's thin and lacks that typical elven grace, but he is a skilled spellcaster. For obvious reasons, he prefers lightning spells

I almost didn't post to this thread, but I decided to just because the two you've done so far looked so good. Great work man!

Might as well put in my two cents as well:

Gamble:

The short but stylized cropped hair that sits atop Gamble's head is nothing but a blazing and startling crimson. The color is so bright that some might believe it is a dye job but the subtle shift of orange within can't be produced by any commercial means. He's not one to star on any covers of major magazines but has that ruggedly handsome look with his squared and chiseled features. His face seems to be made of straight planes, hewn from hardened skin into his blocky facial features. Few lines mar his features; crows feet and laugh lines nonexistant but oddly a dimple ruins the smooth plane of his cheek like a chip taken from the hard surface. Dull, sea green eyes peer out from beneath thin brows, his nose hawkish and fitting with the sharp angled features of his face. Ruining the severe and serious demeanor he carries, a constant smirk causes that dimple to appear as a barbell through his tongue can periodically be seen when he speaks or when he fiddles with it absently.

The jacket that covers his upper body would appear bulky and large over someone of a smaller stature but at an even six feet tall and well built, the jacket just...fits. The sportbike jacket matches Red's hair and overall dress of reds and blacks, the ballistic and protective garment covered with impact absorbing padding over the shoulders, elbows, and forearms. The material is heavy and thick to provide the best protection against road rash, dual density body armor and dual density spine pad ensuring total protection. The jacket is left unzipped, a dirty rust colored t-shirt easily seen beneath the heavy garment.

Not one to step away from his red and black dress motif, heavy threaded cargo pants adorn his lower body, riding gloves made from the same material as his jacket peeking out of the side leg pockets. The pant legs are smartly tucked into a pair of well worn black boots most commonly seen on SWAT teams and Army Infantry.

Sorry for the spam but it's a description is it not?

It's pricier, but you can skip the Night One and go from bog-standard human to catcritter in one easy step.

Alrighty, im a little late, but...


Stian is a human Adept, straight from Norway. Long, straight black hair(to his chest about), green-yellow eyes, very small goatee on his chin(no moustache) About six foot tall with a decent build(physical attributes at 4). Looks like a guy who would play in a Norwegian black metal band(think Dimmu Borgir or something)...pale as hell, dresses in tank tops, a leather jacket with a few spikes, spiked bracelets, bullet belt on waist, and black BDUs or jeans tucked into big black boots...the kind with buckles(and a few spikes added to them.) Has a full sleeve of tattoos on his right arm that goes to his chest, and some on his left(all kinds of designs, usually pagan or Viking oriented but can't see them under the leather jacket, save for the some on his chest.) Smokes. Necklaces include an inverted cross(he's of the black magic path), and a Thor's hammer. 27 years old, looks about that age, handsome(to the right kind of gothic girl at any rate). Black fingerless gloves with some metal studs are also worn. Stian uses his skills as a bouncer in very bad heavy metal clubs, as a bodyguard(usually for bands), or enforcer work. He is a scary looking man to the average person...and can seem like he knows what you are thinking, or doing, before you do it. TYpically fights with his bare hands(kickboxing specialization), but has been known to wield a Mjolnir clone hammer.

Whew. Nice list. You've got your work cut out for you, Kenshi, but from what I've seen, you've got the artist skill and cajones to take someone else's character and make them reality. Keep it up, my good man.

Kada Sanchez aka Inquisitor is an attractive human of half Hispanic, half Native American (Zuni) heritage, though she looks almost entirely Native. Her shoulder-length black hair is in a series of tiny braids, each braid tied off with a small charm. She has brown eyes and a slim but athletic build. No obvious implantation (though she has some Bioware to augment her strength and agility). She wears urban camouflage print pants and boots, but wears short sleeve T-shirts, topped with a Kevlar vest. Around her right bicep are a band of arrows and on her left hand is the Medicine Man's Eye, drawn in traditional manner (you can go here for a visual reference, if needed). She is trained in the use of many firearms, usually carrying a pair of pistols and any of a shotgun, rifle or SMG slung over her back. She's occasionally seen smoking a cigarette and with a commlink strapped to her left forearm.

Wow. Looks like my work is cut out for me!

When you've got ten milimeters of retort to put between someone's eye if they laugh at your fasion sense, you can wear any damn hat you want.

Here's my 3 favorite runners. You can pick any of them to draw:

Kain - Kain is a gothic Ork with long lushful jetblack hair and an unlimited collection of slim *gasp* black t-shirt with funny or just plain 'wrong' sayings or references. Always with a pack of smokes stuck on his t-shirt's sleeve, he's the paramount of style, packing a katana on his back and the most chromed SMG on the market, it's a shame he lost his previous gig in Combat Biking, he was a STAR back like a wrestler star of today, he has fallen the popularity tree. As a newcomer to the shadows, he rides his most prized possession, his almighty modded black Blitzen, and spreads fear in the streets... if only he wasn't so oblivious and such a n00b street sam, he could acually survive!

Linxys - The racist("Those fragging troggs!") elven bastard was raised in the streets of Seattle, but he still believes he's of noble blood and rub it to everyone which makes him overconfident and a total asshole, but the fact he's such a great thrillseeking Combat Decker means he's in high demand. Tall, with piercings covering his ears and face and tatoos on his forearms, he doesn't look that noble, but his big fragging anti-personnal rocket launcher and the trusty Predator III on his side will convince anyone of this claim. Lets not forget his favorite companion, a fully armed Steel Lynx with an heavy machine gun, but even if that makes him a total badass, he's the most unlucky mofo and always ends up badly wounded and half dead, with the scars and surgeries to prove it, but still, he's always finding ways to survive and is always left standing... while everyone else had the common sense to run away.

Silent Wolf - Silent Wolf hails from the Sioux bloodline and she'd be a really nice looking gal, if it wasn't for her obvious 'wares, cyberarms and her bright red cybereyes, coupled with fetishes and ritualistic trinkets. If a femme fatal cybered tribal wolf ninja was possible, we'd all be laughing, but she'd still kick our collective asses. Powerful, swift, stealthy but unarmed or wielding ceremonial daggers, this cybered martial artists does shadowrunning gigs on the side but her ideological mind and ethics often gets in the way so she lurks and prowls the streets of Seattle and exact some vigilante justice on the street predators' asses.

I'm not in any hurry for this (good thing, right?). I'm just curious to see what you come up with.

Zip, 18 year old technomancer, full blooded Cherokee, no cyber. An orphan since she was about 13, she ran away from the Kansas City Metro Indian Council nearly a year ago & has been scraping by ever since. She's fascinated by dragons, but tired of "traditional Native American values."

Let me know if you need more....or if I missed the cut-off date. You've got a lot on your plate! I'm very impressed!

I know I'm down the list, but if your still taking requests, I'll drop my character into the pot.

Caucasion Female Human Adept with long hair. Stealth oriented. Not a bombshell, not a dog, pretty much trys to blend in. I picture her with a petite build, but appearing more feminine (when not working anyway), than most runners are described.

Other than that, use your imagination.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us. I have so wanted to have a picture of Kat, but my drawing skills are...shall we say rough. So this is awesome.

Spite is a male caucasian human ghoul, who stands about six feet, two inches tall, and is quite gaunt and lean. He's had bioskin implanted to take care of that pesky skin problem ghouls have, and he's got cybereyes to see in the physical world. He's quite pale, though handsome (his features are fairly sharp) and is, of course, completely hairless and bald. He sports a celtic spiral tattoo over his left eye. He's got fangs, and long, vicious looking claws.

He tends to wear mostly black form-fitting clothing, with a long, black and grey armored great-coat. Often has sunglasses on, and always wears either full length gloves, or fingerless gloves.

His favored fighting style is melee combat with edged weapons, although around town he always sports a custom Ares Predator III.

Spite isn't a particularly mean person - he's actually quite kind and enjoys helping people who are in need. He cares deeply about the welfare of those he knows, and is always willing to lend a hand to anyone, unless it's Ares Macrotechnology, who he hates with a passion and will gladly attack any representative of the Megacorp on sight.

He has a young daughter, who is uninfected. She lives with his uninfected brother, a wageslave working for the Draco Foundation.

Wait, hold on.

He carries a Predator III, yet he hates Ares Macrotechnology?
