Bioware adds to perception? Since when?

Since for some silly reason they classified Perception as a Physical skill.

I understand it being a Physical skill. But which bioware again? I thought the text said something about Physical Skills that are linked to physical attributes?

Enhanced articulation only applies to Physical skills linked to Physical attributes...
Ah, reflex recorders. Of course.

But Reflex Recorders add to skills and count against the cap. The same cap that the Adept Power counts against.

Do they? It says: "The reflex recorder adds a +1 dice
pool bonus to a specific skill or skill group (Combat and
Physical skills only)."
So they give a dice pool bonus, they do not increase the actual skill rating like improved ability.
Am I interpreting that wrongly?

You should really download the
Errata 1.3, many things have been corrected. Including the Reflex Recorder which reads now:
QUOTE (Errata 1.3 @ page 3) |
p. 340 Reflex Recorder Change the second line to read: "The reflex recorder adds 1 to the rating of a specifical skill or skill group (Combat and Physical skills only).” |
It doesn't give bonus dice anymore.

Aah, that explains it.

Bah! Skill cap is a silly concept, especially on an adepts magical power, that's the entire point with it, it's "magic".
So the maximum perception one can have on an adept (without any bells and whistles from qualities) would be 21 (9+3+6+6)
And then one can use up a point of bioware by adding +1 to perception and gain 22 dice. |
You're forgeting the Improved Sense power.
Improved Sense: Vision Enhancement 3= +3 dice.
So, 24 dice maximum before you throw in specializations.
The funny thing? Even if she closes her eyes (-6 dice pool penalty), she gets 20 dice to spot stuff.

Let's hear it for massive talent, incredible skills, and magical superpowers.

Vision Enhancement (3) contact lenses and Audio Enchancement (3) and Spacial Recognizer earbuds, FTW!

They get squat for spoting things. The do however get really good dice for hearing things while their eyes are closed. Not the Improved Sense: Visual Enchancement dice though.

Actually, trying to spot stuff with your eyes closed is just a -6 penalty, so it's entirely possible with this type of character- shouldn't be surprising, with all of the magic she's got.

If there is one thing required to play SR4, it's a GM that can implement a sanity check. This is insane, thus... no.

You are a nice guy and all, but I think you have the wrong thread.

Agreed; if you have tons of bonus dice to visual Perception and you close your eyes, then you lose all of your visual bonuses. Contact lenses aren't going to help you.
You can still have Enhanced Perception, a high Perception, a high Intuition, and whatnot all come into play when you need to notice something (via sound, smell, or whatever would be applicable).
