Kim gets out of the car and walks over to Reign to shake her hand. "It's nice to meet you."

Whilst waiting at the flat... Jim sits back, closes his eyes and sends a command to his Condor to head to the Garage and alert him to any people or vehicles entering or leaving the structure or any of the buildings around it.

Walking from his car Jim walks just a couple of paces behind the lovely Kim and also extends his hand in greeting. "Pleasure to meet you" he says, also extending a warm handshake.

"As my compatriots have said, it is nice to finally meet you in person. I assume everything's in order?"

Reign glances up at Kim's face with something resembling amusement before taking her hand. The grip is firm, but unsettling in its gentleness.

"Good evening."

Breaking her gaze from Kim, she smiles at Jim.

"I'm glad to see you made it. Everything appears to be in order. Trance?"

Her bodyguard offers a slim attache case with half a dozen certified credsticks.

"This concludes our business. Unless, by some chance, you're interested in another job?"

furrowing his brow in the slightest hint of confusion
"I admit that I heard about this job through many middlemen, but I was led to believe this was only the first portion of a larger plan, or a series of jobs. If I heard incorrectly, that's no big deal, however I feel I ought to let it be known that I am still looking for work."

He thinks to himself he's not sure why he said that. He had been unhappy with the nature of the run before, but he wasn't sure if the blame for that lay wholely on the hirer. He was a bit curious, but he also knew better than to find out too much. The group seemed trustworthy enough that they wouldn't cross him without cause, and the variety of talents worked well together. He was impressed by Todd and Mirage. A good Sam who knew when to be sneaky was a commodity, and a good decker was priceless. Jim seemed confident enough that he must be good at what he did, but at this point in his carreer, Firmpoint had never encountered a need for a rigger outside on the shadowrunning end of things (though he knew how dangerous security riggers could be as opposition, so he had to be something). Kim wasn't a runner, and that was her greatest atribute; someone had to interface with the rest of humanity for them, and she just looked too innocent to be suspicous.

Lots of pros and cons here, but the situation is at least worth listening to another pitch from this Johnson, but he was definitely going to be part of the negotiations this time around.

Reign smiles at Firmpoint.

"Actually, yes, that was my intention for the original team. Since there were a number of personnel changes during the course of this first job, I thought it only fair to offer the opportunity to leave my employment. For those who do stay, I do have additional tasking."

"You say that as if we have to decide whether to take the next job before we hear about it. I'm sorry, ma'am but I don't work like that. No offense meant, but I must insist on knowing about a job, and being able to ask questions, before I take it. Obviously details are yours to keep, but you should be able to tell us at least some general details and answer a few questions without compromising either of us."

"Did I imply that? My apologies, I would never expect you to agree to a task without first knowing some details of what would be involved. This next job I have for you will be much easier than the last one. It's a simple sweep and clear. One of the properties my client owns is infested by squatters, low-lifes, gangers, and all manner of undesirables. In order to reclaim this property for useful purposes, he needs the riff-raff cleared out, and doesn't really care who gets hurt in the process."

Todd collects his share of the cred and takes a step back. "No thanks lady, totally ain't my deal. I'll catch y'al later though I'm sure."

He sets his skateboard down and pushes off and away.

Although Kim doesn't like the sound of sweep and clear, she has no problem with reclaiming someone's property. Her guts are screaming to follow Todd's example, but her mind wants to stay and listen to what Reign has to say. It just takes a few seconds before the battle has been decided. "Wait a minute Todd. Let's hear her out, before we decide. You can stay with me tonight ..." Kim waits to see his reaction before she adds "... so we can talk about it."

Todd skids to a halt, "Do I look like muscle to you? Lady, I've never fired a gun in my life and I mean to keep it that way. If you need any 'trix support, let me know, but somehow I doubt this is that kind of job."

"Aye, Todd, stay at least until we've heard more. Just because our employer doesn't care if they get hurt doesn't mean he wants them hurt. there are other ways of relocating those people.
[Back to Reign]
"No offense, but I must look at this issue with a certain amount of speculation. Your first run was a humanitarian effort to get medicine that bicson was hoarding. This run is a charnel house on unarmed, unsuspecting lowlifes. the two don't make much sense together... [cocks his head in thought for a second] unless... [he smiles] nevermind, forget I brought it up."
Firmpoint pauses for a minute, looking over the group, turns back to Reign, opens his mouth to say something, catches himself. then re-begins.
"Down to brass tacks then. how much are you paying, and since this is your employer's property, is he worried about colateral damage to the buildings?"

"What I would like to know is what exactly it is you want us to do. If we just ask them to leave, they could be back pretty fast. Where and what is this property anyway, and why not just ask the Star to clear it?"

"If my employer were to hire Lone Star or any other legitimate security contractor, then rules would have to be followed. Forms filled out, permits acquired, a paper trail generated. He would like to avoid as much of that as possible. Which is why he seeks a group of individuals such as yourselves. He has no interest in the methods you employ, so long as they are effective in keeping any unwanted individuals away from the property for at least six months. You are correct in assuming that he does not want the buildings or grounds to incur any unwarranted damage. The property is located at 3275 West Laurel Blvd in Renton, and consists of a three story office building as well as a small parking lot in front. Pay this time is 6K, half up front."

"You know ... " Kim snickers softly and shakes her head "... it's funny how you justify paying us 1k more for this job. However, we don't really care how easy you think something is, especially not since last thing you told us turned out to be fiction. What we do care about is how long it will take us and 5k per hour sounds a lot better than 1k a month. You can't seriously expect us to take care of it every time you find someone at that location in the next 6 months do you? It's certainly not enough for something that could make the news either, so we'll clear the property in a way only those people will remember, or you could tell us how you want us to do it."

"I second that. six months is a long time, and your desires are a bit contradictory. Let me put a couple examples to you. We do as you ask, and either put the fear into them or kill them, either way, those people don't come back. But this is Seattle, there are alot of bums. if it stays abandoned for 2 weeks, a new set will have moved in. will we then have to go in and clear those out?
The other option, which would keep it clear for quite some time, is for me (or us) to go in and enact such a gruesome and horrid event of torture, slaughter and carnage that every bum will hear about it and know that that teritory is off limits. This might not be as covert as you would like, and could attract all kinds of attention."
He stops and thinks for a moment.
"Once again, I believe I spoke too soon. I may have a solution that will solve everyone's problems with this. It will be a bit expensive though, and the amount you've offered will barely cover our expenses. We will need 9k each."

Reign shakes her head.

"I'm not authorized to offer you any more than seven thousand nuyen for this job."

"Of course you aren't. If you wouldn't mind, however, I would like to discuss this with my compatriots, however. If you would excuse us for just one minute..."

Firmpoint gives a head motion to signal everyone over to him. where he talks softly. (ooc: It's up to the drivers, but if they left their engines running, I would huddle there as a source for background noise to prevent overhearing.)

"Ok, here's my plan, pure and simple. We find a local thrill gang, whose turf already covers that area. we act corporate, make the same offer that they're making now: keep this area clear for 6 months. we pay them a monthly stipend to do it, and I believe they'll agree because A: they're gonna be beating people up anyways, might as well get paid for it. B: No gang wants to cross a corp. and C: Money is money.

So pretty much, it's free money for us, all we have to do is broker the deal, and keep a comission. These runs don't pay well, but if we can keep them short, we could be earning a few thousand a day. that's not bad."

"Look, the money is good, but it isn't want I'm into. If you need some info off the trix, give me a call and I'll charge you for what you need, but I don't want to be involved in something like this directly. See ya."

Todd turns and skates away.

As Reign apparently refuses Jim's handshake he causually takes it back, making a mental note about the poor etiquette here.

Listening in quietly to the conversation Jim takes it all in, and cant help but agree with Todd about skills being wasted. After all, its not like he had to do much for the last run! as much as he likes the idea of money for nothing, Jim knows only too well that a skill that isnt used dulls with time.

Looking at firmpoint Jim brings the point up..."I have to agree with Todd, I cant help but feel that my involvement wouldnt be entirely useful. After all, its not like I did much on the last run... and I cant see how clearing squatters out of a building would be a task that requires any speicalist security knowledge...but I will hear out the negotiations and see what happens."

"I have to agree too. This isn't quite what I expected, but if we take this job we'd better be prepared to carry out plan B. There's no way I can accept failure, should those negotiations fail. So I think the real question is; how much do we care about what happens to the riffraff?"

Trying to delay Todd a second as he leaves,
"I definitely understand your position could I get a concat number for you in case we do need something? or is there a node where I should leave you a message?"
If I get it, cool, if not, no biggie
"I am personally quite willing to carry out plan B, if needed. this work is a cakewalk, and could easily be one-manned, and if you want me to, I am happy to do this solo. But I have the feeling our employer is not done with us, and I, for one, like easy jobs for easy money."

Jim suddenly voices a few thoughts... "how do we know that these squatters arnt going to turn out to be some of those freakin meta bugs ive heard about so much?! maybe thats why they dont want Lonestar or anyone involved!"

"Why don't we ask her? Simply state in the contract upfront that we agree to remove all squatters there in a manner that they won't come back for at least 6 months. Provided they are a reasonable, metahuman nature (i.e. we're not there to hunt rats, or some KE HTR training corps that have settled upon this locale)."

"Why don't we take a look, before we decide? It will only take a few minutes."

Mirage, who has remained silent since she stepped out of her car, nods at Kim's suggestion. "Oui, we should check the place out first before accepting the job. Firmpoint's idea is also good, but I think our hirers should take care of the long term security themselves, I don't want to be responsible for this building for six months."

"Also, I should say that I am not prepared to slaughter whole families under any circumstances. I'll take out gangers, security guards, whatever if necessary, but I draw the line at children. And I'm not going to kill anyone just because they're poor."

"Having said that, if they are just squatters, we should be able to intimidate them into leaving."

"Ok, could you keep Reign busy until we're back?" Kim smiles at Mirage. "Anyone have a map, or do you know where it is Firmpoint?"

Firmpoint looks around
"I'd guess it's at 3275 West Laurel Blvd in Renton, and consists of a three story office building as well as a small parking lot in front. can you find it, Jim? If you can guide a drone toward it, one of us could follow that drone, but I dislike the idea of doing this in the middle of a meeting... but it's the only way. Kim, you're staying here, unless you can give me a darn good reason why not. I don't want Jim jacked in, and us both out of our bodies here. way too much possibility for something to go wrong."

Jim looks around, "Im a rigger... I ALWAYS have a map on me!" and with that he pulls out his pocket sec and pulls up maps of the city and makes a small printout of it. Handing it over... "here you go chummer, but I will send a drone over there as well to look over you guys.. and while your there, let me know if you see any kind of building security devices that we could use later on."

"No problem, I'll stay here then. Just hurry please."

"I'll try, but it really doesn't work like that. things look hella different on astral, and following a computer map there, while not impossible, is very prone to error, hence the drone to follow. Also, my ability to see tech is limited (it's kinda hard to explain), so I can't guarantee I'll find things there. I'll try though."
to Reign
"Alright, two of us are going to check out the site from here. If everything is as you've described, then I think we have a deal. the scouting shouldn't take more than 5 minutes or so, if you wouldn't mind sitting tight."

"Even if the situation is like you described, there still are some details we need to work out. I'm thinking acceptable damage and satisfactory cleaning, since I have a feeling you won't agree with our point of view; as long as the walls are still standing and the building is clear."

Reign shrugs in an offhand manner. She doesn't appear to care much about the team's concerns.

"Whatever you want to look at is fine, just don't take too long. I'm working on something of a schedule here."

Through the unblinking sensors of Jim's drones, the property appears exactly as Reign has described it: a generally run-down three story office building in a mostly deserted office park development. The structure is seventy meters by thirty, and stands apart from the four other, similar buildings in the development. All the ground floor windows appear to be boarded up, but the front door is open. A small fire burns in a trash barrel in the parking lot, surrounded by half a dozen squatters. No other activity is apparent.

Back in his meat body... Jim smiles to himself. "May as well just level the entire building!- I dont know what the others have seen yet, but at a glance it all looks as described"

Firmpoint's surveillance does not reveal anything more than what Jim's drones did. The area looks just as Reign described it.

Firmpoint re-enters his body (hopefully as intact as he left it) and says
"Confirmed, it is just a handful of ragtag squatters. This will be a cakewalk.

I can personally offer my services to you to clear out the occupants in a manner so that they will not return for at least six months. I also agree to do so without doing any structural damage to the building. Cosmetic damage may occur, but will be kept to an absolute minimum, and after looking at it, it's not like you'd notice anyways. I will do this for the offered sum of 35,000 to be split evenly between myself and those who assist me. Are we agreed?"

Reign nods.

"I find that to be an acceptable arrangement."

Jim looks around at the group...."I'll join you Firmpoint, besides... if we take up residence there it will not only keep a roof over my head but we can keep people out at the same time!"

Kim looks at Jim in bewilderment. "I'm not going to live there!", she exclaims.

Firmpoint jokes, good naturedly,
"Jim, I think you misunderstood, they wanted the lowlifes out of the place, not to add another one in."
to Reign
"Thank you, I believe this meeting is over. We will call you when the job is done. Have a pleasant evening."
to the group,
"Ok, now, lets meet up in the morning and talk this over. I have a couple ideas, but I'd like to make a few calls first, and it is getting late. How about 1PM at the Day's Inn, I'll get a room reserved for FP Industries, ltd."

Grumbling to himself out of earshot of Reign "Im sure as frag no lowlife... jus makes good tactical sence, means you could set up some drones to guard the place, people will see that its occupied so nobody will move back in...and it would stop the place becomming infested with BTL junkies. Damn civilians.... no idea of roughing it!" and as soon as the meeting finishes he heads back to the car and back home to get some downtime!

Kim was still aggravated for being so blatantly ignored by Reign. The worst part of it is that she probably deserved not to be taken seriously anymore after that phone call. It seemed such a good idea at the time too, but it only got her a part of what she wanted. Nothing much to do about it now though, unless Reign would ask about it which wasn't likely to happen and starting about it herself would only embarrass her even more.

Firmpoint's joke turns a smile back on her face and she feels good again about the night's success. "Anyone want to go celebrate with me?"

"Sure, I'll drive, where are we going? Somewhere with food would be good, I'm hungry again!"

Firmpoint is about to take Kim up on the offer, then stops, looks her up and down thinking ...nah. she didn't mean it that way. good kid, but kinda naive.

"As tempting as it sounds, I have some work to do and sleep to get. You kids have fun though"

He realizes the "kids" statement could have sounded condecending, but tries to smile in a way that shows it's all meant well.

While answering Mirage that anywhere will do, even if it means she had to change first, Kim notices Firmpoint checking her out. She smiles and turns her head to await his answer.

"As tempting as it sounds, I have some work to do and sleep to get. You kids have fun though"

That sure wasn't very nice. Making up some lame excuse about work and telling the real reason is my athletic build.
Struggling to keep her face in check, she thinks about saying something about a short or absent part of his male anatomy, but decides that would be silly. After all, she didn't want him to come along anyway. Although it made no sense, Kim still felt rejected. She turns her head back to Mirage and asks: " What is this about men and breasts?"

Mirage laughs, "Tell me about it."

She speaks to Kim as they walks to her car, "There's a good sea-food restaurant near here, is that ok?"

Getting up early the next morning, Jim dresses down for the occasion and puts on a pair of old overalls and wears a faded red baseball cap. Throwing something a bit better in case its needed into the boot of the car he heads for the meet early... knowing he can get himself a good breakfast!

After an enjoyable night out with Kim, Mirage returns to her apartment and sleeps till 09:30.

Waking up fully refreshed, she calls Countdown to check that Kikumi is ok, then she performs her daily workout followed by a leisurely shower.

She sets out in her Westwind in time to pull up outside the Day's Inn at 12:55.

Seeing Kim pull up in the Westwind, Jim flashes a smile at the young lady "Morning! thought I would dress down a bit today if we are to do a bit of house clearance!"
