Huh, turns out I don't need to worry about that so much then. ^-^ We're basically at the mechanical goodness and small time IC for those astralling or whatnot (which won't be till later it seems).
So for those who are present, and will be trying to use contacts...
Go through your list of contacts and decide who you want to try your luck with. You can pick them all if so desired, but keep in mind that if Puchi doesn't really related in any way to the contacts specialty, it's just wasted effort which might cost you later on.
You'll be using the 1d6 Vs. Connection rating for all contacts, unless you can provide me with a sound explanation to guarantee availability. Go ahead and roll even if you think you have a good reason (it'll be a 'just in case' measure). If you can provide me with a good reason and roll well, your contact may actually get a bonus, or you!
After contacts are dealt with and Jack's back, I'll doll out some soy-karma for things so far (Not that you'll be able to use it now, but as a treat for hanging on and trying things).
May the force(or spirit, or mentor spirit) be with you!

Knives won't be contacting his contacts - since neither of them has any real connection to Puchi and he doesn't really consider himself the information-gathering detective type. He will spend the rest of hte evening working out and practicing with his weapons, at home.

Welcome back Jack, and understood Black. Now we just need Godaime and Krayola.

Clay doesn't see much use in tapping into his (one) contact, so no action on that front here.

Erik also has no corp type contacts so He'll for go that also. Can you say walking blind? lol

Oct 3 2006, 01:16 AM
Eh... Jorl might know something, but he's more on the end of organized crime and less on the end of criminal megacorps. D'you think it would hurt to contact him?
Cold-Dragon
Oct 3 2006, 01:38 AM
If Puchi is up to something that would affect that line of Jorls knowledge, he might know something. The lack of inside people, however, will obviously mean your information is limited unless he finds a jackpot. ^-^:
If you want to try Jorl, make the roll and/or a reason for him to automatically be available or not, and we'll see what happens from there.
Cold-Dragon
Oct 3 2006, 07:20 AM
Godaime has attempted her roll and it failed - but being as she technically lives with this contact, she will more than likely meet him within a day or couple (leaving the roll for later).
As for Kray and Jack...if you guys are going to astral spook the place, feel free to IC it, or else I'll look up snooping and we'll roll (though one could get you bonus karma later).
Speaking of Karma, I need to hand out that soy I mentioned. I'll put that in next post.
Cold-Dragon
Oct 3 2006, 07:36 AM
Soy Karma time!
Now, for the purposes of detail, be aware that I will tell you what is
latent karma and regular karma. I am also tweaking my latent karma rules for simplicities sake: you can use it on anything (though in some cases you may still need resources of some sort to benefit from it, like a teacher, etc).
Latent Karma does NOT affect things such as street cred, notoriety, etc. You also keep track of it separately. It's essentially 'extra karma' given by yours truly as an incentive to do things (I like things getting a little big, so it'll help you out).
So, these soy karma are all latent karma.
Krayola Red: 3 karma soy bars
JackRipper: 1 karma soy bar (sorry, you were kinda the quiet one what with all the connection issues and such. ^-^
BlackHat: 2 karma soy bars (shaped like knives)
Godaimesama: 3 karma soy bars
Kray and Godaime got the high counts due to posting, content, and little things like that. Note that it's not a
critical part of gameplay to be vastly detailed and doing all sorts of things, just like with regular karma, you can get different types of latent karma for different reasons. If you want to try something out to add flavor to things but aren't sure if it'll complicate the game, PM me and ask!
GodaimeSama
Oct 3 2006, 11:33 PM

Hey GM, can you post up the map of the building on the data disk that we scanned? I figured we would've checked it out during the meet or sometime afterwards, even though no one actually used words to specify it.
Cold-Dragon
Oct 5 2006, 03:32 AM
*ickies* I'll try, and I'll put it here for now, lol...I'll do the first floor and the 3rd floor.

Thanks, I guess I'll use that for now.
I didn't think about maps when I started this. Heh. I'll just have to practice with it.
'map of it all'the d's are suppose to represent doors, otherwise I apologize for the simplicity of it. Don't ask for a size scale - I don't know it. Be assured this isn't the office building of giants, however.
krayola red
Oct 5 2006, 07:21 AM
Sexy map. I'm just going to list all the stuff Clay's going to try to do in the astral so it can be resolved with one big IC post instead of doing 'em one by one in the IC thread.
He's basically going to give the whole building a thorough scan and compare what he sees with what's illustrated on the map. He'll look for any signs of magical security, and find out how the interior doors of the building are secured (i.e. maglock). He'll also look around to see if he can find any of the stuff on the retrieval list. Additionally, he's going to check out what kind of physical security they have on staff and where the camera feeds are being monitored (security room?)
Hmm, that's all I can think of for now. Is there any reason why one of the offices on the third floor has an asterisk in it? Also, what kind of patrol data is available on the data disk?
Cold-Dragon
Oct 5 2006, 03:47 PM
the asterisk points out the offices you are supposedly looking through, though you can check the other side if you really want.
As for patrols...it's earlyish in the morning, and I need to wake up. O_o *rubs eyes into proper shape* I'll give patrol data a little later on.
Cold-Dragon
Oct 6 2006, 01:14 AM

Performing private perception test on this then: Being you're astral and all, this is kinda visual only cues, though I suppose you could hear things now and then.
*calculates how much pain and agony to u- oh, wait, there isn't a chart for that*
Anyways...The first floor doesn't have much in the way of security. There's the guy at the front desk when the place is 'open' and through most of the day, but he's not an over night person, and the doors would be locked then. I sorta forgot to put in a backdoor to this place....but oh well. It's a weird building with fire code violations?
Oh, wait, according to the datachip, a few of the offices on each side (as well as a board room) have wide windows good enough for such emergencies. And of course, there are security camera's in the front and halls, but none (supposedly) in the other rooms.
Now as for the third floor...
There is a guard posted at the desk there for the later hours, and there are security camera's in the office areas as well as the locker room. Mind you, none of these cameras are super fancy, and according to the chip, they all go to the servers anyways - more for snooping than for alerting, with the exception of anyone in the security room downstairs (which only has people around during building hours, according to the data).
There shouldn't be anyone beyond that, but that's part of what the missions is about in the first place. There might be employee's, granted.
Oh yeah, as far as the scouting out the building goes: No magical security you were able to find. THe Stapler you did locate at one of the desks in the * office area, but the rest of the stuff you couldn't find (You can't exactly read names on the astral).
Did I miss anything?
krayola red
Oct 10 2006, 04:03 AM
Are all the doors secured by maglock? Do the guards carry the appropriate keycard?
Cold-Dragon
Oct 10 2006, 04:26 AM
That would be important, wouldn't it?
The front doors are mag-lockable, and the server room and security room doors are also mag locked, the rest of the doors are minor style locks however. The guards don't appear to have an obvious key of any sort for either door, but you can't peak into pockets, now can you?
krayola red
Oct 10 2006, 04:42 AM
At least one of 'em's gotta have the key to the rooms. We're gonna need it, since no one on the team can bypass locks.
GodaimeSama
Oct 10 2006, 04:46 AM
...which was a serious oversight on our part.
krayola red
Oct 10 2006, 09:41 AM

BlackHat

Maglocks-Smaglocks.
Nothing a little well-applied force can't resolve.
GodaimeSama
Oct 10 2006, 11:17 PM
Well, then, do I post now or do the astrals have something else they were planning to do/post?

i 'spooked' the areas i planned on...as we didnt really plan anything out. I took the outside when my jogging partner went inside.
Cold-Dragon
Oct 11 2006, 12:32 AM
At this point, the astral snoopage is technically done unless Jack and Kray what to get more specific. If everyone agrees, we can assume 'next day' or later on or whatever and you can do a post Godaime....and I'll think and see if I can figure anything I can tell you in advance. >.< Pardon me. empty head moments.

Oct 11 2006, 12:55 AM

havn't lost interest.
JackRipper

Cold-Dragon
Oct 12 2006, 03:50 AM
Well, all in all, I declare a next day action!
It takes about <insert so many> complex actions to perform
- later -
Okay, presumably, it's morning or noonish or some time like that. Play gently with the hours and you can be out of temporal balance, but if you plan on interacting with shared people (yourselves or otherwise) try to keep that in mind.
Free excuse to play yourselves out some while I charge Godaime absurd amount of cred for information.
...okay, I really mean to do whatever, heh. pass info, send in 3 red clad ninja-SWAT, etc, etc. I will get a clear head on just what the hell I'm doing, really.
Godaimesama, now would be a convenient time to meet your contact. ^-^;
GodaimeSama
Oct 16 2006, 02:50 AM
Yes it would, but I kind of assumed you were going to give me the information I could use beforehand. I've been waiting for you to get online, then when you finally do, by the time you say anything I'm off at a concert.
I apologize profusely for the amount of time it's taken me to get around to this.
For clarification, CD, are you going to give me the info and let me play Jorl as I like, or are you going to play Jorl, or what? I'd like all that before I start, if it's not too much trouble.
Cold-Dragon
Oct 16 2006, 03:13 AM
Sorry for my absence all. *sighs* Hellish weekend.
I blame college/babysitting/everything else.
Godaime, I guess I should give you info, that'd work best at this point. We'll pm/im/whatever-m as appropriate.
I will try and catch things up properly tomorrow (monday). Sorry again everyone!
side note - JackRipper turned in his card via PM. So for now I'll ghost him for the mission. His reasons had sense I couldn't blame, so don't think badly or anything. Just means Krayola gets to try his hand even more at being the mage.
