I am not seeing any chatter about the newer novels...does that mean they are not any good? How do they compare with the older ones?

The Kenson trilogy was so-so and compares with previous novels in a way that the trilogy should have been contained in one novel. By far the shortest page count and largest type. Even broken into 2 books, I think they would have run shorter than many, if not all, previous works.
Pick them up secondhand, if at all.
