Kyla also mimes drinking from the bottle, but doesn't seem to have any. The wine is exquisite going down. It tastes of a combination of honey, morning dew, fresh grapes, and sppring air all together and seperate at the same time. It is also somehow still cool. Luthielien's throat feels as if she's just drank from a cool spring. Her fingers and nose tingle like they've been tickled.
Now then Ladies, tell me, from where do you hail if I may ask? The name Calaelen I have heard, but only in distant memory. Could you tell me of your house?
He accepts the bottle back from Kyla, taking another small drink, then passing it on again, after a proper MMmmm

Our family comes originally from Wyrm Wood where we served within the Royal Court, more recently we hail from Kaer Vendroll. Our house did not escape the scourge unscathed, there are fewer of us now, but the Calaelen line has always been blessed with fertility. We shall be more soon, I should hope. May I ask where you heard our family name before?

I study my histories. It is the duty of all of our People to know from whence we come from. As you say, all of our People suffered during the Scourge. It is the duty of those who continue to remember those who have passed, and honor them, is it not? Apparently I am a bit laxing in my duties, but I am glad to hear that your house has survived and may one day again flourish. To House Calaelen!
Lólindir raises his fist, kyla raises the bottle. This time she does drink, and pases the bottle on to Lólindir , who drinks and passes it again.
May I ask for what purpose two such Ladies as your selves are bound for Kratas? Or is your business prvate?
Kyla gives Lu a questioning look, "shoould we tell him"?

Lu takes a breath to steady herself and nods to Ky.
You spoke of needing a cause to fight for. That is why my sister and I have ventured so far from our home. We go to recover a family artifact, an heirloom stolen from one who bore it with honor. Kratas is where we believe the heirloom is now. I am sorry if I questioned your motives earlier, it is just that my sister and I are set to find and destroy one which you are swearing to protect. We find ourselves at cross purposes, my dear Swordmaster.

Cross purposes? I certainly hope not. How do you come to that conclusion?

Well, you go to offer your services to this Troll, to join with his army. We go to stand with the other side, to gain back that which was taken from us. Lu explains, feeling perplexed as to why the swordmaster is not seeing the logic in her point.

I see. I did not know you were allying with this Kratasian Lord. Very well, a matter of a house's heirloom and the honor of two Ladies is more important than a troll's pride. If you wil laccept me , I would be honored to assist you in restoring your families possession and honor.
And my Lady, if you're not going to drink that, you really should pass it on.
He smiles again. It;s a nice smile.

Such a nice *hiccup* smile...he's so pretty. Why is my sister still here?Staring daggers at her sister when the swordmasters' back is turned, Lu nods her head in the direction of the door, adding hand gestures when Ky doesn't seem to be getting it.
When the swordmaster turns around, she smiles sweetly and passes him the bottle again.
So, tell me about you Lólindir. Where do you hail from?

Apr 1 2007, 06:21 PM
My family is from Throal since the Scourge. We were of the Wood originally, but left when madness over took the place. I have travled extensively since then of course, trying to see as much of our new world as possible. And you? Where was you kaer located?
Kyla looks annoyed, apparently forgetting the earlier deal. She makes a point of sitting closer to Lólindir, with her hand brazenly on his leg, rather high up. She actually goes so far as to massage his leg for a minute. Idle chit chat goes on for a few miunutes as Kyla continues sending "signals" to Lólindir, going higher up his "leg" unitl the burning-daggers-of-hate stare finally wins out.
Kyla gets up and leans over to her sister and wispers in her ear Fine , this one is yours Lu. But I may pick him up when you're done. She smiles and winks at Lu, then leans over and kisses Lólindir deeply, holding it for longer tha n a simple good bye would warrant.
You two enjoy the wine, I still have some 'duties' to take care of on deck. I'll see you both later..... dressed I hope. Lu, jsut d everything I would do.
She winks again and walks out of the room. Lólindir looks shocked, but recovers quickly turning his attention back to Luthielien. Well, we have some alone time it seems. Perhaps now would be a good time for some of that frank speech suggested earlier?

Lu leans in closer to the swordmaster, practically whispering the last sentence.

Sliding her fingers up and down his side, Lu nodded.
I agree. Which is why I think it's time I let you in on our little secret.
Lu draws out the pause, enjoying the momentary look of suspense that draws across the elf's handsome features.
There is more to this now then our family heirloom, although, that is ultimately what we seek. There is also gold. A lot of it. Gold that, I think, will soon be offered to this Troll King. Gold that will be used to avenge this Troll's so called honor.
fistandantilus4.0
Apr 1 2007, 07:19 PM
Truely? Well that is something. I did say that it takes more than coin to buy my sword, but having the coin to go along with the honor and the beatiful faces surely helps. How much gold ?
Lady Door
Apr 1 2007, 07:40 PM
According to what we know, nine chests of dwarven gold buried before the Scourge. The ork we seek, Kraech Yellowtusk, holds a map and a journal that detail the location of the gold. He goes to join with the Troll King for reasons I do know know, but you can be sure that the gold will soon become reason.

fistandantilus4.0
Apr 1 2007, 07:53 PM
That was what I had in mind as well. It seems fair, assuming that I earn it. I understand if you can't speak for your sister, but I could help convince her if you beleive it's needed. Do you have any idea on how you would enter the kaer? If it has not been discovered, then it may well still be sealed. We may need to find a wizard or nethermancer if the kaer was not breached. And if it was breached, well, that could be a whole other list of problems. Although to be honest, I don't think that a horror would linger in a dead kaer, with 'civilization' so near at hand. Any clues as to why the kaer did not open?
Lady Door
Apr 1 2007, 08:01 PM
We have no information on the kaer, my only thought is that the kaer was breached long ago from some other point and no one made it out to break the final seal. We do, however, have copies of the log book and map that Kraech has, so we are not totally without direction.
As for my sister, I will discuss our negotiations with her. If she has argument, I will leave it to you and she to discuss.
Lu's fingers still trace up and down the man's back. With her head on his shoulder she contemplates just how the swordmaster would convince her sister.
Disgusted with herself, Lu stands abruptly and dresses.
I should go and find Ky and tell her of our deal.

With that she walks out the door and onto the deck.
You are a stupid, stupid woman. This is not about you, this is about your family! Stop messing around and pay attention, who knows if he can be trusted and here you are spouting off about percentages and buried treasure. You are an idiot, Luthielien Calaelen!

Kyla sits up quickly when Lu walks in. So! How was it!?

As he's joining us, I felt that I needed to tell him about the gold. I offered him a third, a third for us, a third for him and a third for the Kratas woman if we decide to go that route. What do you think?
Grabbing an apple out of her pack, Lu sits on her bunk and takes a bite.

well.. if you want to cut him in .... I suppose we could. At least then he'd have t ocarry some of it. I don't really know how we're supposed to get in to this kaer in the first place, but maybe htat'll jsut resolve it's self. We'll steal the shield back, but leave kraech alive. Maybe he can figure a way in, and then well just kill him and take the gold.
And what difference does it make who he was "seeing" , it would look the same anyway. I just wanted him to remember that the offer might be open if he wanted to take it is all. Are you done with him, or are you planning on keeping him for a while?

Adventurous sort? Yes, well that's Ky. Ky has never met a challenge that she didn't step up too, or even a percieved challenge.Lu looks directly at Lólindir, making her point.
We had planned on brokering a deal with the Kratas Lord, a woman by the way, letting her in on the secret of the dwarven gold in order to gain an ally. Although, as I'm sure you're already aware the chances of making a deal with a thief from Kratas where we don't get stabbed in the back is slim to none. So, that leaves us with a few options: attempt to get the shield and gold ourselves while taking on the orc legion led by Kraech, made a deal with the thief and plan on backstabbing her ourselves before the gold is found, or ... some other plan I have yet to think of.*sigh*
Lu turns her attention back to her plate and begins to eat again.

So whta's your deal anyway? I mean I know that you like this guy, but you can't be in love with him, you just met him! Why are you all on my case? I only gave him space in the first place beause he was about to be killed by a troll. He was obviously interested in me to. Kyla.. do you remember the first time you were with a boy? The human boy that worked in the stables last year? Do you remember how it felt to have him smile at you? Have him hold your hand and say those sweet things to you? Now, do you remember how it felt when he threw you over for that human barmaid? Remember how much you hated that girl? Now, try and picture that human barmaid as me. Try to imagine what it would have been like had he thrown you over for me. Now, you have had countless liaisons with countless men since then. I haven't, Ky. That was a first for me... and you made me feel like I didn't deserve to have it be my own. Like I needed to fight my own sister for something that should have been solely mine. Couldn't you have just let me have this one man? Just this one?
Afraid that she might be on the verge of tears and angry at herself for speaking that way to her sister, whom she loved more then herself, Lu practically ran for the kitchens.
What is wrong with you? If this is what it's like to let yourself fall for someone, forget it. It's not worth it.
