Tarantula
3/11 is good for me too. Might be good to PM me a reminder the day before though....
Backgammon
Still need to run Sean's solo, so you can enjoy some R&R wink.gif
Tarantula
Ah, okay, sounds good!
Redjack
Just checking in. 3/11 is still golden for me.
Backgammon
Me too!
Backgammon
Still good for tomorrow!
Redjack
Still good!
Redjack
What time are we supposed to start?
Backgammon
KARMA!

Sean: +12 karma
Jason: +12 karma

No money...

Jason -
As you and Vagabond wait right outside the suspected MDC Detention facility where your friends are being held, readying your gear for extraction, you get a phone call from an anonymous caller. You tentatively answer - "Hello?"

-Yeah, we have a problem.

Sean's voice. How?? He says he think AK is a NYPD plant. You don't follow him. You need to set things straight first. "Where are you? Are you on 66th avenue?"

Yes, he is. You look out the car's window - there's Sean, standing on the street corner, talking on the phone. This merits some explaining!

Searching for the Spirit, Part #4
[ Part #1, Part #2, Part #3 ]

A clock on the wall, but no tick-tock. The clock unmoving. A clock on the wall. Finally a man enters. He asks for name, address. Nothing more. He leaves and the orks enter. Then the beating starts... and the electricity.

Consciousness returns and the new cell is a smaller cell. More time passes. AK arrives. Small talk, boredom. More sleep. AK is gone. More time. Several meals, unknown days or hours pass. Rita is deposited in the room. She tries to talk about things but Sean knows that these walls have ears. More time passes and then the storm troopers arrive.

Back in the interrogation room and the questions begin anew, but this time Sean is addressed as Sean O'Malley and not Shawn Rogers. Levitsky, Ezequiel Oppenheimer & London... they seem to have connected Sean all over town. Given Sean and Jason's proclivity for analyze truth, Sean is careful with his answers. Instead of yes/no answers, he quantifies so that they are truthful answers, but not always to the question asked. Then comes the deal.

The NeoA are the targets. Supposedly they have a weapon of mass destruction, but Jebadiah seems to be the key. They want Jebadiah.

His clothes and com are returned, no armor or gun though... and his money is still there. And then he is escorted out onto the street. After locating a throw away com he makes a call only to find Jason and Vagabond waiting nearby...

Do we have a next date yet?
Backgammon
Well, I'm a bit in a GM-juice dry spell. I know what I want to do next (indeed, you already have your mission outlines) but don't have the meat of the missions and I'm not feeling too inspired lately. I think I need a bit of time to recharge the idea box and come back with some good ideas. So I think we'll take a little break (as ironic as that is considering our play frequency) and I'll get back to you once I've written some good material.
Backgammon
Alrighty then. Step 1 - rejuvenate GM-juice, has been accomplished.

Still need to go through Step 2: Write Material.

I intend this next "mission" to be the last in our campaign. However, I expect this last mission to span easily 5-6 gaming sessions. There are quite a few threads open right now that need closing, plus the extra stuff I'll be throwing at you. So plenty of gaming left. I'll also be challenging you with different paths leading to different outcomes, so you'll have to think carefully about what your characters will want to do.

So, I should be designing the last leg in the following weeks, and then we can start going through it. So I'll update you gain when I'm ready to set some game dates.
Backgammon
It's ALIVE!!!

Last night I wrote about 2/3 of the remaining story arc. Going to be interesting!

Anyway, I'm ready to set a date to start playing again. But first, at this point, I want you to be honest - you guys still feel like playing? We've had a really sporadic rate culminating with this, like 2 month break. So if the feelin' is gone, that's ok. It's a game, so there's no point on forcing it, it's supposed to be fun and all. So if you guys aren't really up for it, that's cool.

Otherwise, let me know what date(s) you have available coming up. I can play on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, and the coming weeks seem open so far (except maybe some time next week, might be going on a business trip). but next two weeks are out frown.gif
Redjack
Excellent!! I am currently having Internet quality issues at home. I will be able to upgrade my connection the first couple of weeks of June. I fear a Skype game is not gonna work well until that is complete. I will be at a conference the second week of June. I really hate to push us out this far, but how does the week of June 14th (like Wednesday the 16th or Thursday the 17th) look?
Backgammon
What do you think about moving to chat for a bit instead?
Redjack
I could probably do 5/27, unless one of my sons rained out ball games get rescheduled to then...
Backgammon
Next week is no good. Just got confirmation I'll be on biz trip all week. What is your typical schedule in regards to possible nights? Thursdays only? I'm open wed-thurs-fri barring exceptions
Redjack
Wednesday/Thursday are usually good for me, but Thursday June 3rd is out as is the entire week of the 7th.
Backgammon
Ok so does look like we'll have to wait a bit for our schedules to align. So let's set a tentative date for June 14th and we'll re-confirm when we get to that week. I'll PM tarantula too between now and then.
Tarantula
27th was def. out for me too. Going to moab for memorial day weekend. I'm free weds/thurs for the next month or so as my DND game is on hold while the GM is out of town. June 14th works for sure, as would any wednesday.
Redjack
So do we want to put either the 16th or 17th of June on the calendar?
Tarantula
16 and 17 both work fine for me. So whichever.
Backgammon
Ok I'm going to reserve both, and we'll aim for the 16th. If that falls through, let's try for the 17th then. But we'll aim for Wednesday. What time works for you guys? Is 7:30pm Eastern too early?
Redjack
That's 6:30 central. I can do that.
Tarantula
Works for me too at 5:30 MST. Sounds good.
Backgammon
Hey guys, everyone still good for Wednesday 7:30 eastern?
Tarantula
Good for me. Just a note, my internet kind of sucks where I'm at atm. Should still be able to skype though.
Redjack
Is it June already?

So far so good...
Redjack
Ok. We have hard choices. I was just informed my son has a make up baseball game tonight at 8:00cst. I would have to drop by 7:30cst. Starting at 6:30est gives us an hour. Good, bad or just ugly?
Backgammon
Are you both free tomorrow?
edit: "both" being you an Tarantula, not you and your son wink.gif
Redjack
hehehe... I am currently free tomorrow. Downside is that due to all the rain this month, we have 3 more make up games (yet to be scheduled) that have to be made up before July 1. Sorry for the last minute today.

*fingers crossed tomorrow stays clear*
Backgammon
Ok let's meet up tonight anyway, just for a little bit. We can recap, clear up some dialogue and prepare for the meat of next game. Then we can play tomorrow as well.

The reason I'm really looking to push an aggressive schedule is that my wife is due for early august. So we gotta finish everything up by then. Otherwise, we'll have another 1-2 month hiatus

Searching for the Spirit, Part #5
[ Part #1, Part #2, Part #3, Part #4 ]

Out of the frying pan into the fire.
No more back to Vagabond & Jason and my com rings again. One Nelson Mang is in a car... behind us. Realizing that if he was a threat, we'd already be dead I walk back to here him out. A chinese man, silver pin on suit. MDC. Seems Mang has a problem: Someone has a WMD. If we find it, he's offering a permanent residence pass, vehicle pass, CCW permit, detective license and office as well as the release of . Too good an offer to not at least try. Question is: Would it have just been easier to have killed myself there and then?

He gives us a contact number and points us to the neo-anarchist weapon cache under the pit. This specific WMD is a nanite canister. What the hell do I know about a nanite canister? { pause } Ok. nanites are like microscopic robots, thought they can be organic. Isn't that like a bug or a virus or something? Damn. This just gets better every time I get a new detail. We get cheap passes and soldier uniforms. Weapons are assault rifles. The bright side of the conversation was that I learned the name of my torturer: Colonel Price. We'll cross that bridge later.

After being dropped off in the pit, we work our way to the towards the weapon cache. When we work our way to the checkpoint, it takes a few moments to bluff us past, but bravado overwhelms protocol. We are no more past them and down the corridor than NeoA's attack the check point. We have to work our way laterally past the combat scene. Of course, we get engaged and Vagabond has to pop one of the guys.

Pretty quickly there after we find ourselves in the old subway rail tunnels. I was able to find some wire and fashion a cheap set of lock picks and pick the lock on a side-door. Turned out to be a storage closet. Junk and an old first aid kit. Guess those hours late at night learning to pick locks weren't completely wasted. We, not completely, anyway.

No, they couldn't be empty tunnels, they had to be inhabited by midget, elf ghouls on speed. This is my kind fight. An in your face, knock down drag out. Earlier, in the gunfight, I was pretty worthless. Vagabond carried that fight. This time, Vagabond got stomped but I kicked the shit out of the vampire, elf upma-lumpas. Of course, we had to put them down; They just didn't really seem the talking type.

So let's recap: I started looking for a spirit who hangs out with a junky. Found the brother of the junky, but got a call for a personal meeting to talk about a made-man I pissed off. Got warned there to lie low. Took a detour headed back to find the junky and got a job looking for a missing teen. Found the junky, busted her our but got pinched by the man. Got tortured for two days by the man, without ever really getting asked a legitimate question. Got released and offered a job I couldn't refuse by someone working for the same company my torturer worked for. Haven't found the spirit, nor the missing kid. Haven't had time to deal with the gangster who wants to kill me and now I'm in a tunnel, looking for a weapon, dressed as a soldier hated by the locals. Some people have days you where you just shouldn't get out of bed. I have weeks like that.
Backgammon
You guys good for tomorrow?
Redjack
Make up baseball game on the calendar. Season ends at the end of the month.
Backgammon
So, barring rain, that's a no?

I'll keep it reserved, please update us tomorrow as soon as you'll be pretty sure about the weather.
Redjack
I will have to stop at 1900 cst, unless there is rain... On that note, we have severe thunderstorms in the forecast.... At they are supposed to start at 1900. We may be good to start a game and keep trucking!
Backgammon
Ok!
Tarantula
Gonna run to the store and then jump on, will try to be on by 5:30mst.
Redjack
Getting pretty dark here
Backgammon
Good sign for us. Bad sign for your son though wink.gif I have the game room up in veav II. I noticed last week I accidentally started the room under the dev server... and you somehow both found it. So, this time, it is correctly started under veav
Redjack
No game on Wednesday!!
Backgammon
Err... No baseball game or no shadowrun game?
Redjack
AHAHAHA.... No Baseball game! Shadowrun is on!
Backgammon
smile.gif
Works for me
Backgammon
Veav seems to be down, so game room is up on OpenRPG Dev II
Backgammon
Alright, so I am free all evenings this week (that's 7:30pm eastern to 10pm). So Redjack, how is your travel schedule looking like, and Tarantula, what's your schedule this week?
Redjack
Ok. Sorry. Been a crazy few days.

Monday and perhaps Thursday for this week. You guys?
Backgammon
Thursday is good
