I want to post the chat logs for our games here, probably in the first post, but I need to generate a version that doesn't have the text as pictures... for some reason Dumpshock doesn't like such a heavy use of bandwidth!
Hmmm... would you players prefer it to be in the IC thread?
Octopiii
Mar 7 2009, 12:31 AM
I think I would prefer it IC.
Can you not copy+paste? Maybe break it up in spoiler'd chunks?

Yes, and maybe bring in Topknot???????????????????????????

ChiPsiUp, I seem to have lost or never had an email account to which I can send chat logs for you? Are you able to provide me one that works for you?

Sure. I'll PM you my e-mail.

So when is the date of our next session, anyway?
pbangarth
Mar 22 2009, 12:39 AM
I've only heard from Fyndhal about what days are best for him. To recap, he would prefer March 28 or 29, but could do April 4 or 5. Anybody have any restrictions on them for these two options?

As long as it is on the weekend. Weekdays are no longer good for me.
ChiPsiUp
Mar 23 2009, 02:56 AM
the 28th or the 29th is fine with me, with preference to the 29th. The 4th is fine as well, but the 5th is uncertain, depending on what time of day.

Knight Saber? ChipheadCharley?
pbangarth
Mar 25 2009, 01:41 AM
I'm not sure where Knight Saber and ChipheadCharley are, so let's go with Saturday, April 4th, OK? That will leave you more than 3 or 4 days to book off time from work and dates, talk IC and prepare.

Oh, what time on the 4th? I've changed time zones to Pacific since my state doesn't use Daylight Savings Time.
pbangarth
Mar 28 2009, 07:17 PM
I'm on Mountain Daylight time, and would like to start at 1:00 pm. So in the Pacific time zone, if your state has Daylight Savings Time, it would be 12:00 noon. Without Daylight Savings Time, the Pacific zone would be 11:00 am.

For the IC thread, let's use the following convention that is floating around the forums. If we don't, I could get seriously confused. Thanks.

I believe I can have a game on Saturday, 18 April, and actually run it a little longer than I usually do. Start at 1 pm MDT and go into the evening. How does that fit people's schedules?

Wow. How efficient the team was today, finding just about everything put in the DocWagon clinic in Ghost Cartels to kill them. And they lived! An excellent reconnaissance. Run in, get clawed, shot at, and razored, rouse every defender, who called in the cavalry, and then escape with hardly anyone hurt. (Well, except for one PC who tried hard to be breakfast of champions for a couple of Beast spirits.)
Well done. Now you have almost all you need to know to extract the cadaver successfully.
I had a great time.

I was thinking the same thing while watching you get gutted...
"gaaah! If only there was a way to have armor on the astrall... oh wait, there is!"
Personally, I thought we still could have made a go of it. Surprise is an important element of combat, and they would never have expected a frontal assault after our botched attempt at sneaking! It makes perfect sense....
...to Fishbreath. (This happens when the sammy is unscathed. All he knows is he has a full clip and a gun that hasn't been fired!)

The problem with an armor spell is sustaining it... it'd be a -2 penalty to my active defenses, which are just barely decent right now... a Manipulation Sustaining focus would be quite helpful, but also pricey.
And in discussing foci, I just realized I forgot to add my weapon focus bonus to my defense rolls. That would have been +2 dice. Arrrgh. Might have been less mauled then! I thought "Astral combat + Logic, no Reach bonus in astral..." and forgot about the other bonus. Well, I'm sure never to forget it again after this!

BTW, we may as well get the planning out of the way for next run. We had 5 options that we debated for about an hour IC, so we may as well get that out of the way. I started a discussion in IC chat

. Remember, we only have ~22 hours, so we don't have a lot of set-up time. The best plan is the probably going to be the easiest to enact - the less moving parts, the better.
1. Find someone with a DocWagon K and whack him, then Mind Control the response team to take us in the facility. This involves making sure we get the response team before they radio back to the base. I'm not sure Mau can get them all before then, even with two spirits providing confusion/compulsion help. Probably not a good idea.
2. Pretend to be Lone Star, anxious to recover the body due to the botched extraction attempt. Ahem. I would suggest spiritual help, but it appears that the Spirits patrolling the grounds don't play around, so astral assistance is right out. Not sure how we can convince the guys inside to release the body to us without them confirming with LS. If someone could distract them long enough, we might be able to run in, grab the body, and then (likely) fight our way out. With the right paraphernalia, we can flash some badges, use my intimidation/Mau's mind control to cow some flunkies to take us to the basement, and then get out.
3. Vehicle Mask our van, drive into the facility's garage, filch the body, and get back out. We need an RFID tag to pull this off. Conveniently, there happens to be crashed DW ERT van nearby and conveniently located. This plan involves a metric buttload of chutzpah to pull off, hence, I am in favor of it.

. We pull into the garage, then immediately open fire - why waste the element of surprise? No one would expect us to come back so soon.
4. Same as our LAST plan, but instead of trying to sneak in through the garage, go in through the front door where the spirits are presumably expecting people to enter. Oh, and no astral overwatch (sorry, lams!). Getting through the MAD scanners will be a hassle, but they have to take a test like the rest of us, no?
5. Blow things up, then run in the other direction. Fishbreath favors this plan. It is simple, and involves re-enacting his favorite trids. A winner all the way around!

And I posted a sixth idea on the IC thread that boils down to "Jump one of the service people on the way into work, take their clothes (which would have RFID tags) and get in that way." It's a whole medical complex and has a lot of non-paramedic employees. There will be at least two shift changes before our deadline, so that has plenty of people moving in and out. A custodian or food services person would be ideal. Fish has the skills to impersonate and move around, Mau can be carried in in cat form. Magic and his small size should provide a way into the morgue. Fish could carry in one of Skull's Smokecloud drones... That will provide a superb diversion for the exit. It makes a bunch of gunshot noises and lots of people will be heading for the exits. The body could be stashed in a janitor's cart and pushed out in the confusion.
