Am I correct in assuming that dialogue between a PC and a contact should now go into the IC thread?
Chrysalis
Feb 27 2009, 07:23 PM
Peter: Yes. The IC thread is exactly for that.
On another note: I have noticed that at times I am having trouble with three threads: real world history, Conspiracy X history, and Shadowrun history. So if I get a date and time wrong - just play along even if I retcon it later. Suspension of disbelief is important.
The date of the first post is 18th November 2069 In character time

I should have thought to ask this earlier. Cruze has made a point of studying many different intelligence agencies and their operational methods and procedures. Has she ever heard of Aegis?

Does anyone have links to their character descriptions? I find it difficult to approach and make observations of the other characters without adding some descriptive details.
If Chrysalis is the only one with links to that sort of information, then perhaps she could post a brief descriptions. Either that or you guys could all pipe in with descriptions.
Here's mine:
[ Spoiler ]
The man who asked the particularly outlandish final question was now hovering by the books, picking from the hardcopies with gloved hands is actually quite insignificant, and you realise it took you longer than it should have to notice him. He's of average height, gaunt and pale, although you detect something... Middle-eastern in his prominent nose, dark, thick eyebrows and lashes, but his eyes don't seem to conform to the brown you'd expect, as they occasionally flick up from the book to size up those in the room. He has a wild mess of dark curls a few inches long. The left side of his head up to a few centimeters over his ear is shaved off, almost like a half completed Mohawk. Beneath the shave is a tattoo of two japanese alphabetical symbols. The left earlobe holds a simple earring.
He hasn't taken his long coat or his scarf of, nor his gloves. He's certainly not fashionable. His clothing seems to lack the splashes of colour, AR tags, and coulourshifting that belies modern fabrics. The coat is a thick grey woolen weave, possibly army surplus in a european style, with a loose cotton shirt, a hemp belt and some worn ripped cotton pants ending in a pair of well used combat boots.
He comes across as quite neurotic and nervous, and it's hard to tell if he's naturally like that or it's perhaps something else. It could be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency or low blood sugar, but could also point to a history of substance abuse and even extensive cyber-modification.

Cruze - Description
[ Spoiler ]
Elfin featured and petite Cruze barely reaches 5'4" and weighs a relatively 'healthy' 120 lbs. Long black hair reaches her shoulders and safely hides the most obviously Metahuman features she possesses.
Her rounded face and eyes give little away about her ethnic background and her skin tone could just as easily be Teutonic as Hispanic or Asian. Ordinary is the overwhelming impression she projects.
She is clearly lithe, toned and athletic. She likes to get around on a pair of in-line skates and wears the Urban Explorer Jumpsuit so common on the streets. The crash helmet dangles from her rucksack when it's not on her head. The rucksack is packed with electronic tools and gizmos appropriate to the fiber-network engineer job title her SIN transmits if queried by law enforcement.
A large pair of wrap-around goggles hide her always-active brown eyes. When she is not working or zooming around the city streets the amber tinted lenses flip up from the frame to allow her uninterupted vision, although they do make her look a bit like a Panda mad-scientist.

I know we're not particularly using the rules for Unwired, but considering the characters have three days to do things before the book opening, I was wondering if Blackie could make a test for Spoofing Lifestyle (p.99 Unwired). If so, I'd like to make a test for spoofing myself a low lifestyle (likely a coffin motel "room", some access to food such as a vending machines or maybe a hostel kitchen attatched to the hotel, a public transport pass, etc.). The test has a threshold of 4 and an interval of one day.

ok, so I haven't posted a character description for Dick Tracey... mostly because I'm not certain exactly to write. He's a master of disguise and takes that very seriously, changing his appearance for every meeting. Ergo, I shall post a description for his current appearance.
Dick has neatly combed dirty-blond hair, hazel eyes, a Greek nose, and very stylish glasses. His ears are just a little too pointed for a human, but aren't nearly pointy enough for an elf. He's wearing an Actioneer Business Suit over his trim-looking body and has a generally academic feel about him, sorta like one of those college kids you see who you know is going to walk into an upper management position as soon as the diploma is in his hands.

Blackie is pretty anti-social. He's unlikely to really strike up a conversation with anyone aside from Tyrell (because he respects him and sorely hopes the guy has his facts straight) and Izzie (to perhaps enquire how the invitations were given out, and see if he knew Meta - it seems like the sort of establishment Meta would have loved.) Of course, other characters are welcome to approach Blackie and try to break the ice.
As for the freedom to interact, I support the idea, because I do favour roleplaying. However, I've noticed that PBP games can get so bogged down in character interaction that they fold before (and perhaps due to lack of) any real activity. Also, the shadowrunners don't really have any incentive to single eachother out and start spilling, because they all seem fairly paranoid of eachother (naturally).
Not to mention that I for one am waiting for the results of this "special raffle". Blackie needs to go outside for a cigarette, and the anticipation must be killing him!
As for the Lifestyle Spoof, Blackie succeeded, but he's also glitched.

Can I just point out here that if my cover is sufficiently blown for Meyer to know who I am he could have simply sent me orders and I would have followed them without question.
As Cruze has no memory of her missions, due to the data filter, she would be none the wiser.
For all she knows she's been doing missions for Meyer for months.....

Chrysalis, can you elaborate a little on what the hell just happened? Tyrell and Izzie just... went unconscious on their feet? Would I know what the hell that meant? RAS Override and data filters? Human biodrones? You also mentioned something about memory. Is there some sort of test I can make to figure out whether this new figure is inside my head?
I'd just like some details or impressions so I can write a descriptive IC.

I am going to ruin a bit of mysticism: It is a post-hypnotic suggestion coupled with sonics. Basically it trips the brain into being in a narcoleptic state.
If Blackie has seen a hypnotist on stage, the command and voice used were similar - short, terse vocal commands.
