What time I didn't spend in feudal Japanese formal attire this weekend I spent thinking about the areas.

Sorry for being so quiet these past few days. Had monday off, so I took a long weekend off with the girlfriend. I'm back home, catching up on everything.
@Abs
I'll post a shopping list for Dexter, as well as what he has planned.
@Doc Chase
Dexter will hang around Sonora, and back her up on whatever she might. He had planned to get in touch with Bolivar 49, but we can put that off a bit.
Mister Juan

-How many "access point" (doors and ground level windows) does the garage have?
I've decided to hold off on getting the really heavy ordnance (first big pay will indeed go into a mortar, after all). Dexter will mostly be putting his money into:
1- Demolition gear
2- Upgrading our new HQ's security
@Abs
Dexter will use the "downtime" to put in a gear requistion from Morris. He'll then spend whatever time he has left on his hand on setting up the garage into something they can live out off. He'll clean it up, arrange furniture, fix things up a bit, set up living quarters. He'll set up the "armory" on the second floor, turning part of it in a ad hoc gun shot (setting up his armorer kit here).
He will bring all his gear, as well as the van.

@Abs
Here's the gear Dexter will be looking for
Demoltion Toolkit: 500
10x Micro Motion Sensors: 500
10x Frag Claymore: 350
10m of Detonating Cord: 250
20x Blasting Caps: 200

5x Radio Detonator: 200
5x Timer Detonator: 175
10x Electrical Detonator: 200

Morris can get all of that. You wire the funds, he arranges a drop-off. Simple.

Consider there to be multiple points of exit/entry on each side of the building. Mutilple on the front (the bays and the front door) and fire exits that may have at one time been required, on each face of the building.

Would 10 motion sensors be enough to cover every door?

Nah. Two reasons:
a.) You're still not looking specifically for this.
b.) You have fourteen kajillion dice for Perception tests already. A -2 to that is pitiful compared to the dice you'll have left.

Slightly nerfed the amount on that credstick - but it's still a substantial amount. The amount that was on there was on its way to buying him a house somewhere, let alone getting his family out of Caracas.

I skipped ahead a bit to get back into the action, I hope that's ok. I just assumed that Alejandro would give Sangre one of his goons as a one-time driver since I don't think Sangre can order a cab without a SIN (and I'm not sure if cabs drive to that area anyway).

Doc Chase

Magical support would be good, yes. We're going to have to jack an RV to make sure they've got enough space though!

And if Smiley doesn't watch out, Sonora's going to take a bat to his car. Stealing $34k in front of her when he hasn't even paid his share of the rent. Tsk tsk.

Hey, if she was more level-headed she'd realize that sticking with him will invariably result in more money being found. Seems like his whole life consists of making the unlikely happen.

OOC Actions:
Alex is going to relax (lol) in a public area and attempt to find encrypted commlink conversations to break in on and listen to, to attempt to generate some information or potential leads for.. well, whatever really. I -think- these are the rolls needed.
EWar + Sniffer
9d6.hits(4)=3If he finds anything of interest
Decryption + Response
8d6.hits(4)=4Also; I had a thought. If a technomancer had enough information or footage of a particular individual, could he essentially spoof a commlink communication from them? To me, it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult for a technomancer to string together bits of information to present it that way on the other end; considering that information transmitted is in electrical format as it is. For the picture, he could copy the data-stream of the image being transmitted. Same for the sound really since its just electrical impulses being transmitted and changed back to another format. That would also be hilarious to clip out a sentences in a transmission and inject your own. It's not really something I wanted to do at the moment, just seemed like it would be a technomancery thing to do in general and possible in the future.
Abschalten
Sep 8 2010, 10:40 PM
Spoofing can be done, but only if you know the commcode of the originating node. Say a rigger has a subscribed drone, and you want to spoof a command to that drone. You'd need the rigger's commcode, which you could get either by locating his node and doing a Matrix Perception action on it. Or, if you know the drone is slaved, you can use a Computer+Track action to find the rigger's location, node, and commcode (I think.) You can't just see a picture of somebody and spoof based on that, however. You need their digital information, not a physical profile of them.

Also: I just looked at those rolls, and you are counting 4s, 5s, and 6s as hits. Hits are only 5s and 6s. You need to modify your inputs. Also, I'm not sure if you added it in, but I want to remind you that if you go into hot-sim that you get that +2 bonus to your Matrix pools.
I may do further updates tomorrow night. I'm actually quite sick right now and trying to shake off this monster cold. I'd rather come back to the keyboard with a clear head than mash out some half-assed stuff tonight, if that's cool with you.

I'm fine with that, and no I'm not using full VR. My bad on the rolls, was thinking it was four for some reason.k
EDIT: First roll wouldve been the same with a 5 threshhold. The second roll would've been 1. But I think that's an extended test anyways.

Until I post, just consider that Dexter is busy installing motion sensors around the place.
Mister Juan
Sep 9 2010, 11:06 PM
Dexter will also get 4 micro camera (with low light vision), at 200 each (800 total).
He plans on putting one to watch each of the building's four sides. If for some reason, the building doesn't have four sides (as in, it doesnt have an alley on each side), the "unrequired" cameras will be put:
1- to watch the roof
2- to watch the main floor
Dexter will let anyone who wants to, subscribe to the sensors. In due time, we should probably hardwire everything to a single commlink, to minimize the risks of having our security hacked. Whatever extra loose change Dexter will get, I'll probably put into getting upgraded mag locks.
Also, if anyone needs/wants work done on their guns, armor, etc... Dexter has Armorer at 2, so he can do a few things.

Also as a last minute addition I'd like to add 3 low-light flashlights to my list of bought weapon accessories.

Alright, so I'm slowly rejoining the land of the living. I've read back over the posts and this is where we're at.
Alex - Doing some roleplay in a bar, which I'll pick up on
Sonora and El Mono - going to La Guaira for a meet
Dexter, Coatl, Sam, and Smiley - lounging around the shop
Chaske and Stephen - alien abduction
I'm going to give Chaske and Stephen a week to rejoin the game. If I don't hear from them, I'm going to write them out. It'll more than likely be a bloody, brutal affair so that I can channel my frustration into words.
When I push the story ahead, it'll be with another post setting the stage and the timeline. The time will more than likely be the evening from two days when Dexter called his contacts and delivered the Azzie into their loving care.
For now, though, I have Alex trying to find the group, and it looks as though Sonora and El Mono are going to do something down at the docks. Again, I'm not rushing anyone, and I fully intend to pick up where I left off with Alex so we can get a hacker back into the game. Once we're all ready for the timeline jump, that's when I'll do it. In the mean time, those of you who aren't busy in character doing something can either get in some more trouble or just pass the time with banter and roleplay at the shop. After all, sensors need installed, and trust (or something like it) needs to be built up in between the members of the group.
