Are you in VR? If so, don't forget that you get 3 IPs so that's 3 complex actions per 3 seconds. Also, if you're not sleeping, you might as well probe Shadowland rather than try and bust in on the fly. One hour per test is still a long time, but you're going to get your ID blocked if you just run at the gate. Though, if you've got a connected enough digiatal contact, ROM has been sort of assuming Shadowland access as a given.
Ferret is an old school decker so will normally always be in full hot-SIM VR when 'working'. I made the rolls for hacking shadowland assuming that they might make it a little difficult for users to logon (pass the decker test) - I wasn't really planning on hacking the node.
If ROM is willing to assume that I actually have an account, then I am a happy dwarf. If not then I can probe the node while waiting for the world to wake up. I'm reading up on the SR4 matrix rules, but you seem to know them pretty well so do let me know when I am doing it wrong.
EDIT: Just saw ROM's last post, specifically: What has been called "the coffin motel" is more of a rotten husk of a coffin motel, left to decay and become infested with the human vermin of Redmond.
I was thinking of hacking the motel to have a shower and a shave. Now, I don't think I'll bother.
