There's not that much to know. In a nutshell, the comet triggered an increase in mana that caused Sudden Unexplained Regressive Genetic Expression. (or SURGE for short) It manifested in people's genetic makeup spontaniously altering causing all manner of oddities including skin color changes or fur on the light side, to extra apendages and bone reconstruction on the heavy side and a number of people actually didn't survive their change.

I have the background skill, Gather Information...my usual GM uses that sorta like the dnd skill..to represent her ability to use mundane resources to track down information, or convince people to give it to her. If that's cool, she will be concentrating her skills on employment agencies, tax records, health insurance companies, past employers. What she can't get from hitting using the phone or basic matrix (no skills..think internet search) she'll use her decker, Pep to get the rest. Starting with his personal bills, especially phone, then checking the numbers he calls the most and run backgrounds on those. Hopefully he calls his employer regularily enough and doesn't have a vast number of "High Society People" on his speed dial. Let me know if you need a roll.

An open ended roll would be great from anyone with a skill they think to be applicable - like Gang Identification, High Society Knowledge, whatever...

Yaaay, updates! Thanks DB. OK... given that Stone now knows that the group in question was wearing the Rattlers' colors, he still needs to track down their current turf so he can get in there and ... ahem... "talk" to them.

My thinking was that, rather than jump immediately down into the tunnels and wander around for hours or days, Stone would go and speak to Crow. Since the Rooks are actually active down below, it seems more likely that Crow would have some knowledge of where in the Underground I might find the Rattlers, and what their motivation might be -- who might've hired them and whatnot.

I presume an Etiquette (Street) roll would take care of the game mechanics? I roll: 8, 4, 4, 1, 1.

If the TN for tracking down Crow and obtaining the info I need was any higher than the normal 4, keep in mind that Stone has a good rep in shadowy circles which'll lower his Social TNs by 1.

She had Pep submit a basic inquiry to the multiple forums I listed in IC. (all basic conspiracy networks for other nuts to share info and theories) Her inquiries are any information on Borstad as well as Carmichael. Items of information she is attempting to locate include Borstad's home address, the office or place he was working out of, office and or home of Carmichael and any ideas on what secrets either may be hiding. I am assuming the majority of speculations will be false, but there is almost always a kernel of truth in all conspiracy theories.

For his home address.... wouldnt you just look it up on the electrol register or the national cencus?!

Okay then, here's the goodies:

On Carmichael, you've got a ton of stuff, most of it probably Bull. There are a million and one different conspiracy theories surrounding this elf, ranging from his secret liason with the duchess of snowdon, through various corporate linkages all the way to the real nutcases who say that he's an alien. No surprise there.

Things that seem to crop up repeatedly are:

Public dislike for the Lord Protector, Lord Marchment
Seen with (although not necesarily with) the Duchess of Snowdon
Rumours of meetings with various Corporate representatives (often from Zeta-Imp-Chem and "HKB" the financial giant) although with no real evidence
Rumours that he is dating a Scientist named Elise Patrick

His primary residence is the well-guarded mansion in Oxford, but closer to home he has an office in Park Lane (number 34) - well appointed and luxurious, of course.


As to Mr Borstad, his only residence appears to be at the Oxford mansion with his employer - a live-in retainer. The only point that he crops up in the speculations are the random arguements that crop up. For example, when he first started appearing in public with Carmichael, reumours started - first he was a new bodyguard, then a gay lover, then a spirit of some kind, and finally a "Friday" man servant. The only name that got assosciated with the face was Borstad, and the rumour-mill ignored him after that.
