Aye, another concept coming along the bend.
Noticed no dedicated hacker or technomancer, so I am bringing the techie back.
Name:
Rashel "Sonar" Strohm
Profession/ Archetype:
Blogger, Data Sleuth, Hack-Meister Extraordinaire (Technomancer)
Background Summary:
Rashel was always immensely interested in the Matrix, the world created simply by data and the minds and imaginations of those who controlled it. She loved the idea of being able to look like anything, control anything, and if you were good enough, go anywhere with just your skills and technology. During the Crash of '65 she was in the 'Trix, connected via a trode net and Sim pack she modified herself, surfing the 'Trix as per usual when it all came down. She survived the dump and aftershocks, but ever since then she has had the ability to connect to the Matrix without a plug, a deck, a commlink. She is always connected and she couldn't be happier.
Reason for Recruitment:
Rashel is one of the few 'out' technomancers on the Matrix, her handle Sonar known all around as a verbal proponent for Technomancer rights as well as a strong voice in the hacker communities. She has started doing outreach to Technomancer communities, former Otaku gangs, and this has made her a valuable connection for the DIMR, as they too want a chance to study Technomancers and what has brought on their abilities.
Backround Quality:
Friendly Face. Rashel makes friends wherever she goes and she can fit in with almost anybody.
Random Quality:
Allergic to Low Quality Metals. When she was a child she had her ears pierced that they swelled badly because of the tin and aluminum used in the earring. Even steel wouldn't work in her ears, only high quality silver, gold and platinum would suffice. Needless to say, she very rarely bought new earrings.

Whew, I dropped back in to see if we had a verdict yet to know whether or not I needed to finish my contacts and gear or if I could continue with my physics homework. I saw "Reason For Recruitment" and the Name wasn't Dr. Thomas L Wilson, and I started cursing bloody murder in my head till I realized it was a character submission.
Also, I don't send ninjas, B, that is just disgraceful. I would at least give you the honor of dying by my own hands. Well, honestly, probably bomb or CO poisoning, also probably your whole neighborhood just to throw people off, but that's just the swell kind of guy I am. I add that personal touch that handing cash to a faceless killer just doesn't have.

Huh, hadn't noticed the locations before, so no I didn't know that. However, I still fail to see the problem, I'm assuming if I get the whole neighborhood you are there too right?
And if you two are apart because of jobs or whatever.... then well crap, I guess I'm foiled huh?

@Chris: *laughs* Not a psycho, noted. ... and we're like maybe three feet apart, so yeah, the wiping out the neighborhood thing would work.

Eh, not really, I talk with all the other mods pretty regularly. I'm pretty sure killing a moderator and wiping out his neighborhoood is a ban-able offense. Or at least a suspension.

Sep 21 2007, 04:31 AM
I never said I wasn't a psycho, I said I wasn't a gibbering psycho. I'll fully admit that I have several diagnosable mental disorders. I'm actually a lot more of a sociopath really, though the difference got tossed to the wayside in the DSM - IV - TR, I prefer to keep to the psychopath = unable to function in society/does not understand right and wrong and doesn't bloody well care sociopath = Has own set of morals that are followed religiously but they differ very significantly from societal standards of acceptability.
Anyway, I am a rational sociopath so I know I have nothing to gain from bombing/CO-ing your neighborhood and I definitely do not gain enough to justify the risk of being caught so.... you are safe.
.....For NOW!

EDIT: Also would like to point out you were cheering my self motivation and can do attitude when I was talking about taking over hell on earth, but when it comes to killing your wife you are all like "Oh no, we must ban this overzealous evildoer." Where is the praise for my self-motivation now?

Sep 21 2007, 04:54 AM
Honestly, the series really isn't that bad and I'm sad it got canceled, but compared to the books.... the books are so good! Also, I will admit I did not initially give it a fair try. I tried to watch it in the original order not the aired order, so the Storm Front episode was first so there was no introduction of the changes made- they all just jumped up and mugged my cerebral cortex. The hockey stick blasting rod still irritates the hell out of me though and the human seeming toad demon. The actual first aired episode really isn't bad and still shows Bob as a skull. He just projects as a butler for some reason instead of being glowing orange lights in the head.
Ok, I'm going to stop before I list all the changes that bothered me. Suffice it to say I'm a book fanboy so the show wasn't bad, but it couldn't live up to the books which I shouldn't expect it to, but still made me like it less. I need to try watching the second episode and see how it goes.
Oh, swapping the looks on Susan and Murphy was a bad idea in my opinion too.

Agreed on the hockey stick. I never saw the Storm Front Episode sadly, but the books, well, I still havne't gotten past book 2. I dont' like how it's basically book 1 with were wolves instead of a dark mage. Will eventually buy book 3.

Oh, and I'd never heard of this whole "RPG" thing before I met Ben. (Well, there was that one time someone tried to get to me to go to a LARP'ed version of Vampire: The Masquerade) so it was either learn to deal with him ignoring me for hours at a time or learn to play. I stand by my decision.

You cook the bacon until it is almost done, then pull it off and it into completed brownie batter, mix, bake and then enjoy.

Fool Moon is the only book I didn't really like very much. I agree it was very book one-ish. It kind of felt like they were the same book. Partly because of the Murphy distrust thing, and partly because nothing big happened character wise in book 2. Summer Knight is better and then they really take off. It takes me like 1-2 hours to read the books so I've got them all.
A roommate has all the episodes Tivo'd for me so I need to watch the rest of them so I can say I gave it a chance. Storm Front is episode.... 8 I think. Yeah, it's episode 8.

Not in any of the published books yet, though it's obvious it probably will happen if one of them doesn't die first. I can't tell you too much without ruining books though. She is and apparently will always be his main female protagonist.
