No worries, your input is still appreciated. Thing is, while I'm concerned about wasting cash, it's not quite so bad that a few hundred is a problem. Plus, if I end up with ¥30 and I want to summon a force-6 elemental, I'll just buy ¥6 of stuff

As for 300%36!=0, I'm planning on summoning a variety of forces. Probably four force 6s, four force 4s, and one force 2 (what type should I make the force 2?). It's not meant to be a clean pile that will all get used up at once, just a heap from which material can be drawn as needed.
As for the MPUV, not really. The circle has to have either a radius or diameter equal to its rating in meters, and even if it's diameter that cuts out anything more than force 1 or 2 in a normal vehicle.

Well, I play shamans.
I get to do stuff like this-
"AAHHH!!! THEY'RE ATTACKING!"
me-"Hmmm."
Them- "Why are you still on the crapper?"
Me-"whipping up a hearth spirit."
Anyways, took Henequen as a "Friend in High Places". I don't mean that I know the dragon personally, but that his close personal staff is inclined favorably towards me.
Or if Sphynx'll let me, I have a "good" relationship with Henequen

If we can speak up aganist house rules, I really don't care for the one that disallows the Mnmonic Enhancer. I like playing a VERY intelligent character, and it helps if I can RP him remembering EVERYTHING! Without taking another flaw, of course.
On riggers corner here, I need some feedback, since you're all most likly flying to your deaths in /my/ helicopter (though with luck and the three armor i've installed, your deaths will be /outside/ my chopper).

I've heard some compliants about the WK-2's max range of 250km, so I've install an EESS, if you will, four external rocket mounts and two pairs of drop tanks. This bring the signature to zero, hadling to 6, and it's speed to 175. This will increae the max range to 1050Km.
Kagetenshi
Dec 7 2003, 10:59 PM
Current max range=?
Edit: too slow. That ought to work nicely... *digs out map* good, now we can do it without having to ship the helo. Unless you want to, of course.

Rocket mounts as in speed boosters or Azzie vaporizers?
Lilt
Dec 7 2003, 11:12 PM
I suspect he means azzie vapourisers for the rocket mounts. Personally I'd consider taking a single centrally-mounted rocket mount as then you don't decrease the signature (and you're not going to be carrying more than 300KG of missiles are you... Are you?).
Also: Sig 0? Umm... Ok: I can get a force 6, possibly force 8 spirit, to conceal us but higher base value would be nice.
moosegod
Dec 7 2003, 11:17 PM
Is the goal multi-role?
In that case, two rocket launchers should be more than enough.
You're building a tank-buster there.
And we're going to need something to get over the border into the warzone, in terms of signature.

Lilt, what were you planning for your initial spirit payload?
~J

Dec 7 2003, 11:19 PM
Remember, I can whip up spirits on site. As long as the flight gives me a break at sunrise and sunset, I can keep us covered as well. And for much cheaper.
Lilt
Dec 7 2003, 11:26 PM
My character may well not have any initial Elementals (unless I have a day or so to prepare). I too can summon nature spirits on-site without much troubble.
@UtahRaptor. Can you fit any more armor on? 3 armor will ping a light pistol round (or lower), but something like a SMG burst or a heavy pistol shot could take us down. Armor 5 is fairly standard as then you can bounce most non-AV Hpist/Shotgun/AR rounds.
Utahraptor
Dec 7 2003, 11:33 PM
I'll think about adding more Armor, if I can find some way to afford it. Remember, at 6, it loses handling.
Also, I need at least two mounts to get one pair of tanks atached. If any of you have seen the UH-60 with it's EESS, (Read: wings) Then you'll know what I''m going for. I could take a pair off, but that would limit us to 550 Km.
Now, I could ship the thing like the Bision, but I'm taking too much of a risk with the bision as is, the reason the drones are flying with us. Remeber, the horns would take to long, you can't train it to the Gulf, and the Panama canel, my intended route, seems VERY risky.
Utahraptor
Dec 7 2003, 11:35 PM
I'll also mention that Syhpnx's House rules indicate that Vecicle armor is non-hardened, so it won't ping anything. If it did, I'd upgrard to 5 in a heart beat.
Kagetenshi
Dec 7 2003, 11:36 PM
Well, yes. I'm assuming we'll get a few days at the start before we have to ship off; if that's incorrect, I may be pretty useless until I do get a few days of downtime.
~J

Remember, Utahraptor, his houserules also indicate that armor is added to body for resisting damage. Those extra two points of armor go quite far.

Look at his house rules again. He says that drones do not have hardened armor, not vehicles.

Higher up, though (second entry) he applies the same rule to both vehicles and drones. It's a layout error.

UtahRaptor, you can take the Mnemonic Enhancer if you like, but it will not confer the karma reduction bonus. That's a House Rule I won't change because it's the equivalent of giving out more karma than was earned. You might be better off getting Photographic Memory, the Edge. Though the Mnemonic Enhancer will still give bonuses to the knowledge skills mentioned in the description of the game mechanics.

OK: If Sphynx dosen't mind I'd quite like to get a complete list of DSFAccount/CharacterName/Archetype combos for the characters in the game, possibly with an AIM account name so if we have another discussion online then we'll know who is who.
I'm not at home right now, where the list I've compiled so-far is, but I'll edit this post to add it and ammend this post further as people give me character names ETC. (Right now I'm still missing are most of the character names).
In-case people are making their own lists here are my details:
Lilt(TerraPrimus) / Primal / Elven Leopard Shaman+Elemental Conjuror
Lilt(TerraPrimus) / Terra / Primal's Ally spirit, looks exactly like a pre-albino-furry SURGEd Primal.

No rocket launcer.
If you want, you can all log onto: telnet://193.95.168.3:5000 which will be the location we play on. It'll act as a chat room with more options really. I don't recommend using the MS Telnet Client though, best off downloading putty.exe (or if you play on MuDs, your favorite MuD client will also work). As you log on, I'll start adding things to your character sheet there, assuming your character's been finalized.

Kagetenshi
Dec 8 2003, 05:38 PM
It's an edge, not a flaw. It reduces TNs by 1 for all actions taken in a specific area, one that typically won't be entered unless the character deliberately goes there. Best for Hermetics, Deckers, and Riggers who like to customize their stuff a lot.

If it's in the same immediate area as the campaign will be, SRComp suggests it be a single building or park or similar comparatively small area. If the game is going to be almost entirely in Seattle, though, picking the entire Ute nation or continent of Africa may be permissible depending on GM.

You see, I'm constantly imporving my character so, when it come to game time, I can offer the team more surviviblity, and the RPers more enjoyment.

Come to think of it, here's a question. What do you guys think is an acceptable sensor rating?
Lilt
Dec 8 2003, 07:47 PM
The Ares TR-55 C looks like quite a good deal. It's a tilt-wing but it's still VTOL and it's more efficient fuel wise than the Hughes WK2 (not to mention the higher sig and speed). OK so it has less cargo and is more expencive load but it already has 5 body and 5 points of armor...
Just a thought.
Kagetenshi
Dec 8 2003, 07:51 PM

Acceptible is 1. If you're going to be dropping drones off and picking them back up with us (not doing any cross-country jaunts) I'd look at the Ares Guardian VTOL UAV. 12 armor + Mini-turret is your friend.
Also wasn't someone getting a tactical computer? They're the one who really wants good sensor ratings (or many drones).
[edit] yowch... Look at the cost of the ares guardian tho[/edit]
Utahraptor
Dec 8 2003, 08:00 PM
Well, I shy away from the tilt-rotors because the cost so fragging much, and I don't know If I can scrap together 500K. Though I'll take another look.
And Is the guardain a Roto, or a Vectored-thurst?
Utahraptor
Dec 8 2003, 08:04 PM
And, according to errata, the osprey II is about one mill.
Lilt
Dec 8 2003, 08:04 PM
Vectored thrust. it costs 99k though so I suspect it's not ideal. The tilt-wing Ares TR-55 C is 338K... again more expencive but it has a good range, seating for all of us and a bit of spare waight for mods ETC.
Utahraptor
Dec 8 2003, 08:06 PM
Ohh...
Lilt, your a genius.

That would solve most of our prombelm. It lacks cargo space, but, hey, W aren't droping humvees in.

I have to scourgne up another 90K though, so give me some time to evaluate.
EDIT: How many on the team, by the way?
Lilt
Dec 8 2003, 08:09 PM
8 by my count. there were a few more earlier but they've not posted for about 7 pages now. If you want a seat: Speak up

[edit] it's also really quite low on load. You should be able to fit a turret or hardpoint on though. How much extra load are people planning on carrying?[/edit]
[edit=2]ACK. Make that 9 people in the team. Yowch[/edit]

OK. Here is the list so far. I'm missing Cheese Emperor's character name, Rattler's character name, and HelperMonkey's character name. If I have something wrong then please tell me too.
Mundane - Cheese Emperor / ? / Dwarven Mundane Support
- Utahraptor / Kalinn / Rigger
- Rattler / ? / CyberNinja
- capt20 / Rheiv / Sam + Merc + Covert Ops
- Callidus / Strife / Cybered Firearms + Melee + stealth human
Awakened - Lilt / Primal / Elven Leopard Shaman+Elemental Conjuror
Lilt / Terra / Primal's Ally spirit - Kagetenchi / Diarmuid / Elven Hermetic Mage
- Moosegod / Puer Jupiter / "elven" Sky-Father Shaman with Chronic Ostiocusps
- HelperMonkey / ? / Human Norse Whale Combat Shaman
I put my ally there as he can do stuff while I'm not around and I thought it might stop people from getting confused.

Dec 8 2003, 10:31 PM
Echhh.
While the Ares TR-55C is a good idea, there are some issues that need be adressed.
1) I can only seat 8 people comfortably. Which means I might need to strip armor. and that inculdes cockpit space. I need to know the race of everyone, to see if I'll need reinforced seats. You each have an allotment of 100 Kg, so how much you wheigh will determine your gear wieght.
As for weapons, I was thinking of a remote micro turrent with a G38 Carbine. (Burst Fire 7S? Count me in!:) I may add another micro with an HVAR later in the game.
One last thing. The TR-55, (Or Athena, as it's an alternate model and I like the name) has only two side doors. Anyone know how to add a door?
Lilt
Dec 8 2003, 10:52 PM
Ack. Sorry. It may be worth it to take the E model, replace some of the buckets with benches, then add armor. It looks like you end-up with more cargo space that way too.
[edit]I went to the liberty of doing the math: 1 bucket, 4 bench, 5 armor applied to the applied to the E model leaves you with 275 KG load and 61CF. you are down 100l fuel but it should still be possible.[/edit]
[edit=2]If you feel that you can afford the T model then you can have 575kg and 61 load left, with the full 1600l of fuel. It does cost 12K more for the T model but 575kg can probably carry lots of stuff, maybe even some fuel[/edit]
[edit=3]Poked Sphynx with a stick about the extra door thing. He said he wasn't going to make a descision today about it.[/edit]

I'd also like to ask if a Character get's the first languae for free.
Because it's that or NSRCG is screwy again.
And I'll see what I can do on modifying one of the other models, though I think an armor of 4 will be sufficient?
