Toras - No eye based implant recordings, one bank account attached to that commlink. You now have that account number.
Everyone - Okay, bumping forward. I appreciate the slew of actions on Sunday, most helpful for the beginning of the week bump. Don't forget your weekly point of karma.
So, dropping out of combat.
I'm assuming legwork will take this week and next, and the next leg of the run can start on the 3rd.
Put that on the loot later list.

Atreus: Intuition(4) + Seattle Street Knowledge(5)
[5,5,6,5,5,5,4,4,5] = 7 hits
Wow! Keeps going to one extreme or another... Last game I totally glitched my street knowledge check with Atreus..

Atreus - Whare 'ya headed?
Toras - Check. Add one ganger bank account
Method - The whole complex north of NewCastle Way and Coal Creek Parkway is the Ikeda complex. The exact location of the items is unknown.
Bishop - Lucky you, the Suit is in!
Watanabe has a reputation in the shadows for regularly hiring the same assets for runs. His runs have always been legitimate "services provided" contracts. He's never screwed over a group of runners, but he's not known for being over sentimental. It's all "good business" to him.

Feb 25 2008, 03:30 AM
He's just looking for a place where they can all get a drink and maybe a bite nearby where they would blend in. I figured I could get the GM to name one if I made a street knowledge roll.

Redjack - About 10 minutes away, closer to downtown, there's a club, for lack of a better term, that is one of those "known runner hangouts" that the trids always talk about. The upshot is that it's clean, with good food and private booths, and constant security to stop the eavesdropping. The downside is that if you hang out too long, you might get propositioned for a job

@Team: I was thinking we could go to the bar and establish the basic protocol for how we will handle the leg work. Atreus is best at physical recon. He has an arms dealer contact and an information broker (though I imagine our hacker(s) will be able to do anything she could). He's going to recommend that they do a drive by tomorrow morning during rush hour (easier to get lost in the crowd that way).

I'm all for it. It seems like getting some SOP down early will be crucial to this type of work. I'd also suggest having our matrix specialist take a look at all our comms and set us up a secure network.

Memory severs that Gregor cannot astrally perceive. What about Vertigo?
Looking over the team roster I see no full mages/shamans, so it looks like the adepts will be picking up the slack.
What do Finn and McCoy have in the way of vehicles?

Feb 28 2008, 04:26 PM
Hey now!!! I seem to remember him having several spirits to do that for him.
Just trying to feel out the roles each team member sees themselves in for the legwork.
It sounds as though McCoy is a hacker? If so, there is our primary matrix recon.
Does Finn (or anyone) have corporate or media contacts to learn more about the company?
Where is our in, our angle? Delivery people? Replace a suit? Sneak in through the sewer? Replace the security team? Traveling circus lost and need to borrow a coms?
Method
Feb 28 2008, 05:08 PM
Vertigo cannot astrally perceive either. This could be a major weakness for our team.
I think step 2 (step 1 being to figure out how this team will operate) is to hit up our contacts and figure out what exactly the Ikeda corp researches and what we should expect. Whatever "in" we use has to be plausible. Can't go in as vacuum salesmen if the place has no carpet, so to speak.
Step 3 should be formal recon- astral, physical and matrix.
Also, is anyone else concerned about this outside matrix specialist we're supposed to take in with us? Maybe we should discuss contingency plans in case he/she turns out to be a liability?
Redjack
Feb 29 2008, 12:29 AM
Atreus can astrally perceive. Combine that with a few spirits and we shouldn't be too bad off.
I'm still concerned we are being played from the onset. Destroying files is not something that sounds modus operandi for a security consulting firm.
Method
Feb 29 2008, 02:09 AM
I agree. If the goal were to demonstrate security holes leaving something would be just as effective as taking or destroying something. If these data files are real (i.e. not mock ups) this could very well be a set up.
I think we should keep this outside hacker close to Finn so he can whack him if things get sketchy.

That's me whacking the hacker, not the other way around right?
Finn doesn't have any media type contacts, he's got a hacker, fixer, arms dealer, bartender and a mage.
As I see it we need:
Info about internal security
Response times for external security
Lines of Fire (Can we setup a sniper or is Finn going in with you)
RE: Hacker--IC, Finn can deal with the liability. OOC, that's Buddha's new PC rather than playing the J.
Can the hacker throw down a handful of Data Searches? Search strings could include Ikeda Products/Services; Ikeda Corporate policies; Corporate Politics; Newcastle Security Contracts

Okay, let's try and get this rolling again. I was waiting for others to post that they were leaving the location or arriving at the bar, but no biggie. I want to try and get the energy up in this thread, or I'm pretty sure it's going to die. So, you guys have a week to do legwork. I'd like to know what rolls you're making, any actual physical traveling, recon, etc., and I want to know how soon within the 7 days you have you're going to make your move.
I'll get this thread moving again or else!

McCoy, not sure how you want to handle hacking. I'm more then willing to do it via PM's or in the thread, or you can just do a series of rolls for the tasks you'd need, and I'll address anything that doesn't quite go as planned.

I suspect the second, though I may throw some curve into it if the rolls are really important. Don't want to slow the group down too much.

Fenris: I'd like to see if my fixer knows anything about the Ikeda Corp. He's pretty much a generic fixer type (a generalist) so I'll let you decide what he doesn't and doesn't know. Let me know if I need to roll anything.

Method - Perception Test: One obvious thing as you came in is that there's no weapon check. Concealed in the doorway is a fairly sophisticated scanning system, probably cyberware and weapons both, maybe more. You also notice several very discrete nodes in the upper corners and scattered around the ceiling. They're not obvious to most, but could conceal sensors, cameras, and possibly mage-sight lenses.
Judge Intentions: She seems nothing more then a serious businesswoman making sure that she squeezes a few dollars out of people in her place ;D

Welcome back Buddha.
Redjack: I think that about sums it up. Vertigo will contact her fixer after we leave the bar to get more detailed info on the target. Passing incriminating messages through Mac's "secure" channel seems a little dangerous, so I've been holding off.
If the drive-bys go well and we can figure out what they do maybe we could try a cursory infiltration posing as delivery people or something, just to see what we can see inside before we make the actual run. That is of coarse if we determine that the benefits of such a probe would outweigh the risks.
Also now that Widget is in play we could put some drones on the target, right?

Gregor/Sweetness will do a general query of all of his contacts if they know anything about Ikeda, after the soup and sandwiches.
Who knows what the contacts may know, so a general inquiry to begin with, but obviously what we can find out about their basic security would be good too. It would be good to verify that their Matrix security is indeed formidable enough to warrant an additional Hacker on the team.

Alright 3 Cracking Group Rolls (as all the skills fall under that).
Logic 5 + Cracking 4
3,4,6,2,6,1,3,4,6 = 3 hits.

4,1,6,5,6,6,4,2,3 = 4 hits
6,1,5,2,5,3,5,4,1 = 4 hits
Browse + Cracking = 8 dice
4,6,3,2,4,6,1,3 = 2 hit
Stealth + Cracking = 9 dice (ghost past any ic or the like)
3,6,5,1,6,4,6,5,6 = 6 hits
