Give a man a fish and he feeds himself for a day, teach a man to fish and he feeds his family for a life time. Shoot the same man in the head, take his car, his comlink, as well as anything that isn't nailed down, go back to his house taking everything you can, sell it all off to a fixer under the false name of Androv Nikoli and you just might be able to afford that new piece of ware.

A stitch in Time saves the runner with a lame handle.

A watched pot never boils, unless a mage is watching it...... (stupid LOS.)

If someone hasn't been stuffed in a box and interrogated, you haven't been doing your job.

I think if it was a saying it would be

"when all else fails use explosives"
Platinum Dragon
Not technically SR related, but your first one reminds me of Minsc. "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, but give a man a sword and he can chow down on the meaty marrow of evil!"

When using explosives, there is one formula

P=Plenty

Is the Man with with the pointy hat your friend?
No? Kill him first.

Pillage, then burn.
Close air support covereth a multitude of sins.
If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.
Mockery and derision have their place. Usually, it's in a grave.
Never turn your back on an enemy.
Everything is air-droppable at least once. A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head.
Do unto others.
Your name is in the mouth of others: be sure it has teeth.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Take his fish away and tell him he's lucky just to be alive, and he'll figure out how to catch another one for you to take tomorrow.
Don't be afraid to be the first to resort to violence.
The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more. No less.
A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go.
Only cheaters prosper.
If you’re leaving scorch-marks, you need a bigger gun.
That which does not kill you has made a tactical error.
When the going gets tough, the tough call for close air support.
Just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it can't be hard on your clients

And most importantly:

There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'time to reload.

The two I try and go by are

“Proper Planning and Perpetration Prevent Piss Poor Performance.?

“There is not a problem in the world that cannot be solved with the proper application of explosives?

I've learned to hate this statement
"I'm going to contact my mentor spirit, Death!"

"When the new guy gets uppity, take his liver and feed it to Vinny."

"Never make a deal with a dragon...or a nosferatu...or a Halloweener...you know that mid-level corp exec is looking pretty fishy..."

"Dude no way, two girls one datajack!"

That's just a few that will get the group rolling about and laughing. They're not really philosophic blurbs...but they'll crack a group of 8 nerds up if dropped appropriately.

"when all else fails use explosives"

Don't you mean "when exposives fail, try all else"?
masterofm
No. You can never use enough explosives, or at least if you talk to the demo expert in your party. A fully automatic grenade launcher w/ an air burst link and explosive grenades solves most problems. That or just start blowing things up pell mell.

***

When explosives fail you just weren't using enough explosives.

If you can, always bring a small tactical nuke to a knife fight.

Never be within fifteen meters of the demo expert. They tend to sometimes 'go off.'

You can never have enough drones with heavy weapons

Never be the one to strike second

Don't bring loaded assault cannons into your local stuffer shack.

The Johnson is never your friend.

A Pred in the hand is worth two Streetline Specials. More if you load it.

Give a man a Pred and he'll take the other guys fish from his cold dead hand!
or alternately
Give a man a Pred and he'll have the other guys fish until he runs out of ammo, so teach him to threaten instead.

If you're going to double-cross someone, start by killing them. This saves much trouble later.

The best way to win a one-on-one fight is to be the third guy.

Never pick a fight you're not sure you can win.

The enemy of my enemy is an excellent scapegoat.

When considering allies, two things are paramount: Can they shoot?, and Will they aim at the enemy?

Shooting corpses is not only fun, but educational.

Nah, it's DGIF, unless the troll really wants to get shot up.

A drone that goes in first gets shot up (rigger complains that this is comming out of someone else's pay) and can be repaired or replaced. The troll gets shot up, chopped up for body parts and is then sold to the local Tanamous dealer. Ok..TGIF, unless you actuall like the troll.

Firstly, no problem too small. A citywide problem is large enough that you'll need to use more explosives or really well placed explosives (like, say, under the mayor's podium during a speech).

Secondly, a kilo of military grade explosives makes for a very effective threat/deterrant.

If we speak of Seattle it would be better under the governor podium, even than I would say that if we launch Brackhaven in orbit aliens could sue us for terrorism toward them (along enviromental pollution, induced psicological trauma, etc.).

And no Ares has shown that big problems require nukes (they botched because the nuke was of the wrong kind wasn't big enough biggrin.gif ).
Seriously speaking PCC had captured one of the Winternight's enchanted nuke, if they can untherstand how they enchanted the thing they could create a nuke that powers a Sloughter Insect Spirits spell, or make anti-astral-entities granades (terribly expensive but if you know you're going against the bugs are well worth the expense).

I like the quotes from "the Book of Cataclysm" in Syndicate Wars:

QUOTE ("Book of Cataclysm")
To take one life is sin. To take a thousand is religion.

The courageous enter dark caves alone. The clever send in the courageous first. The cleverest wait behind the clever.

The apprentices asked the Master. "When shall we achieve immortality?"
And the Master answered, "Not in this life."

Bravery will take you into the most dangerous of places. Overwhelming firepower will see you safely through them.

The brave hide behind technology. The stupid hide from it. But the clever have technology, and hide it.

A war refugee sought the Master. He said, "You are wise and serene. Teach me to escape the horrors of this world." And the Master blinded him with fire-irons.

Follow the more successful thief and steal his ideas.

The people stood like corn in the high fields and listened to the Master. As the reaper's blade scythed them all, the Master fell silent. The lesson would be learned by others.

In the darkest times, the true believer hones his combat skills.

Mark thine enemy, for all that separates the damned from the chosen is a dot of monochrome light, projected onto the back of a neck.

All knowledge is stored somewhere. Be it in books, heads or deep under glaciers. And when we find it, we make it ours. Faith is bricks; knowledge is mortar.

Poor workers blame their tools. Good workers build better tools. The best workers get their tools to do the work for them.

There is pleasure in stealing the souls of machines.

Not only will all eyes be on the leaders of men, but all combat sights as well.

The Master has no need for money. But still he sits and counts it. As a meditation.

A hundred elephants can wreck the outer walls of a fortress. One diseased rat can kill all those inside.

Faithful minds are not enough. Deliver unto us brains also.

The Master held his palms aloft. "Behold my wounds," said He. The onlookers observed the cauterization and the sunlight that shone through His great hands.
"Let there be pain."
