According to the blurb on Wizards website it's only going to include two classes, both of which I've never heard of before. Then again that could just be poor marketing.

Avenger and Invoker are the new, never-before-seen classes for D&D 4e. Bard, barbarian, druid and a few others are going to be included. Gnomes, half-orcs, etc. etc. will be in there for races.

Vin Diesel plays RPGs? love.gif He's welcome at my shadowrun table any day. love.gif

He was a D&Der and wrote an intro the D&D retrospective coffee table book that was released awhile ago. This may be apocryphal but I read somewhere that his D&D character name is tattooed on his person.

I want to say that he actually wrote the intro to the 30 Years of Dungeons and Dragons book that came out a few years ago. I know that Colbert wrote a story about his childhood experiences in it, including the story of the most awesomest paladin alive.

Down girl, no molesting the movie star.

iirc, gnomes are described in the monster manual...

btw, should this thread pop on over to general gaming?

Where is it? Oh, don't leave this one up to my imagination...

The next time someone brings up the "how do you get more women involved in gaming" I'm just gonna point to Vin with his D&D tattoo and that should pretty much do it. love.gif

/edit

It was a fake tattoo on his stomach while he filmed xXx. The character's name was Melkor. Hey, I've got a reason to watch xXx again!

For Tiger Eyes...

[edit]Apparently it was a faux tattoo for the "xXx" movie. From a Conan O'Brien interview:
QUOTE
Conan: And you created a character for youself, didn't you?
Vin: I created a character... No one knows this, but in Triple-X, one of the tattoos, right above my belly-button, or below my belly button, I don't know why I'm saying this *hoots from audience*, was the name Melkor. And that came from a character that I had, uh..

Conan played too, you can totally tell.

Interesting note: the Riddick movies are based on Vin Diesel's DnD homebrew.

Tiger Eyes: Totally not the only one who liked XXX. I liked stupid action movies with hot russian chicks, is that such a bad thing?

Hobgoblin: Yes, gnomes were included in the MM. However, this is an actual race writeup, not unlike the one that Drow got in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting and Warforged and Changelings will get in Eberron. I should have mentioned half-orcs being in PHB2 too. Oh well.

I'll second that. Not a single thing wrong with action flicks with hot russian chicks. smile.gif

And he can scare obnoxious boy-gamers into behaving like gentlemen. Then we can wrap up the evening by having him show us how to bust some funky moves. It's a win-win for men and women alike!
