And Grey, it's improved invisibility.
@ Blitz,
ok illustrious Gm, heres the deal, while my character may be the great and powerful mage, I am a little fuzzy on the magic rules. Can we pass through the ward in real space without setting off any alarms? Do I have to destroy it before we pas through it at all? Do we have to do anything about it at all?
A little help would be great, thanks.
Blitz
Apr 13 2004, 01:52 PM
Ah yes....but invisibility doesn't help it when you are noisy >:)
Shadow: No. You do not need to destroy it in order to pass through. As long as you have NO spells up and no active foci and do not perceive astrally, you can pass through. It's specifically a magic barrier.
Fenris...well, people kept posting rolls so I gave in.

My plan is to be hiding near the large blue cubes in the data storage room, in the upper left corner as you look at the map so I can cover the distance to either door. If he seems to notice anyone I will try to ambush him and take him down. Here's hoping my reaction is better than his.

Ok...here's the order of operations..I would prefer it if everyone waited until their turn to post, just to keep the time line OK.
Sully, Wraith, Jack, Guard, Trace.
I still need Ember to roll reaction to know where she is, though in astral form she cannot affect the material plane so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Ok here's my actions
Quick draw my extendable batons then move forward striking the guard, hoping to take him out quick. The batons have 1 point of reach (taking it for myself) and I have a skill of Clubs (sp: batons) of 5/7 plus 1 from enhanced articulation. I have the Ambidexterity edge at 6 so that gives me 11 dice to throw at this.
Quick Draw Reaction Test (TN 4)
09 04 04 04 04 03 02 02 02 01 01 01
Clubs Test (TN 3)
08 07 05 04 04 04 04 03 03 01 01 (9 successes)
Total Damage Code 11D Stun (base 9M Stun)
I was going to let you post the results in the IC thread since I have no idea how good this yahoo guard is.

Ok, here is a plan...
We cap the guard.
Jack goes into the system and locks the camera outside the security booth.
We carry this guy over to the security door and use his Biometric to get into the security room, be it his retina or his hand.
Take out the security guards and take control of the security room.
The building is OURS.

I think it's a good plan Grey, not that we have a lot of choice mind you.
Grey
Apr 18 2004, 11:23 AM
Once we have the security room, dealing with the Prez will be easy. We cut his phone and lock his door. If we end up needing him to get into the room, we go get him, but I'm thinking that if we have control of the security room, we'll be able to get in and snag the armor without any problems.
One thing I just thought of is we may have a problem with the Prez has a cell phone, but I've got a Jammer for that, so it won't be a problem after all.

You've got to be kidding me. I've been in offices
today that have more freakin' networks, 60 years behind the times and with less computers!
'scuse my rant, felt the need to scream
Anywho, just going to doublecheck to make sure there are no hidden access nodes. The test is Locate Access Node, TN is the Index Rating of the System, and the Utility I can use to lower the TN is Browse, which I have at...well, I'll have to leave that up to the DM, since the temporary copy of the character that I have right now doesn't have the deck information with it
Anywho, I should be able to toss 17 dice at the problem (10 hacking, 6 computer, 1 task)
Blitz
Apr 20 2004, 05:15 AM
No...but as you poke around, you get an idea why. There are several data nodes marked as sensitive and even in the closed system it looks like the gate guards in that direction are a little more bristly than you might expect. What strikes you as odd, is that this is the kind of setup you'd see and a really high level R&D facility. But it seems surrounded in superfulous crap info to give it a legit outer coating.

Since I don't have access to my deck, I'm not sure exactly what I have that might help, but if you could isolate what kind of test I'm making, I can tell you what utility would reduce the target numbers.
