Actually they reminded me of the things from Hellboy (oh wait, I think they ARE the things from Hellboy).
I never watched Hellboy 2 for some reason, i don't know what you're talking about really . .

Hellboy 2 was disappointing in a variety of ways, but the Tooth Faeries are a damn good part of it!
