I think it's just good to encourage people using 'fun' spells, instead of invisible boosters (Increase X, Reflexes, etc.) or Direct Combat spells. Goo maybe have been the magic bullet in 1e, but it's been a while.

You could always create a "Flavor Goo" spell, and have a bonded Fork/knife weapon Focus.
