1) There are already ways to reduce the interval to about 3 weeks.
2) Even at intervals of "weeks" you're still looking at longer times to code-it-yourself than to buy it.
Not to mention, that at chargen you can't have self-coded programs (so you don't get a discount).

That stuff is in another book than SR4A correct? All I have in SR4A is a small paragraph and table on page 228.
So, just assume I am not talking about at chargen but rather during the time frames experienced in game sessions.
If the code-it-yourself times still seem unreasonable at weeks, why not a house rule that utilizes Logic and Intuition to reduce the interval period to days? I am just looking at sparking some thought on some suggestions here, not looking to step on any toes.
