If such a thing as client confidentiality still exists, they wouldn't be obligated to help law enforcement in any way. In fact, they'd be expressly forbidden to release any information about the client, without his consent, barring a court order. Under law here anyway. I couldn't imagine this to be much different around the world.
Medical establishments and patients need mutual trust to work.

"Any information"? That seems unlikely. Besides, it's Shadowrun. smile.gif

Yes, so you can walk into a hospital and as long as you're a patient, you can begin murdering people, start up a counterfeit operation, sell drugs online, or do just about anything at all that you like! Because, you know, client-confidentially is all-powerful.

(If you walk in with so much as a gunshot wound, even if its obvious you were just a random victim, they report it. If you think they're just going to sit around and protect you from the authorities if/when they find out you're actively commiting a major crime in their facility, you're just flat out delusional.)

Except Trust Fund 2 won't cover even the most basic Hospitalized/Immersive lifestyle, which is 30,000 nuyen a month -- that's the equivalence of three High lifestyles. And it certainly doesn't cover living in a deltaclinic.

This isn't true.

The quadriplegic quality says the following on RC 108
"characters with the quadriplegic quality require permanent hospital-grade care(high lifestyle costs) and the attention of hired medical attendants or programmed robot drones to perform physical tasks for them." It ALSO says that
"Characters that resort to the Full Immersion lifestyle (unwired 38) only recieve 10bp for taking this quality."

So.... High lifestyle is the minimum at which you can get by with this wuality.
Hospitalized lifestyle costs are 500 per day, so about 15,000 per month. Doubled if you're in intensive care.
Full Immersion is 30,000 a month
High is just 10k.

When you compare it to Advanced Lifestyles in the RC, a 30k/mo lifestyle is 23LP, while a 15k/mo is 21.

With trust fund 2, it would be fairly easy to create an equivalent lifestyle with a mix if High and Luxury levels, and the right qualities. After all, household drones and metahuman servants are covered by Comforts.(at high levels), while the Entertainment category covers Vacations and Medical treatments(again, at high levels. For comparison High+ lets you bill your lifestyle for occasional gene treatments every once in a while, and mid covers minor cosmetic surgery.)

Doesn't that quote *say* 'Immersive', which you said is 30k, which is High*3? smile.gif People are just talking about different things.
Ol' Scratch
And nevermind that you found yet another example of some idiot who did little more than cut-and-paste some rules and called it a day. I mean, right there in black and white, it says "...require permanent hospital-grade care" then completely ignores the fact that this already exists in the rules in favor of pulling the High lifestyle junk straight out of his nether region.

MEDICAL INFORMATION! Results of tests, physical or mental exams etc.

Your criminal activities are not covered.
And believe me, the hospital would be jumping for the police. Because a Court order would give the police EVERYTHING. And yes on these servers there are also all the medical files. Not to mention the problems to keep working if your equipment is carried out of the door.
