A Forearm Slide already gives you a free action to equip a weapon, and extending the baton is a non-action. Therefore no GM approval really needed here. *shrug*

Why? Those accessories are already fitted for mounting underbarrel.

And that is what you do with the underbarrel weapon mod. Adding an additional mod to the host weapon makes no sense.

So . . the HOST weapon needs an UNDER mount and the CLIENT weapon needs the under barrel mod, right?
What's to stop one from attaching an under barrel modded client weapon to an OVER mount by turning it 180°?

Except, that as you posted, the rules point towards both weapons getting the modification.

No it does not. As written it says that only longarms, machine guns, and assault cannons can be made into underbarrel weapons. This however is as preposterous as saying both the host and the client need the modification.
For your convenience:

What they probably wanted to say is: "Thus modded weapons can generally only be attached to/installed in longarms, machine guns, and assault cannons." The following sentence makes more sense that way as well:

Well, the grip would obstruct your iron sights, and be really awkward to pull the trigger on.
